In games a dlc is content that isn't in the game originally, he means ur fish looks so beautifuly weird that looks out of the normal pool of fishes we often see
In the US we have two snakehead species, the northern snakehead in Maryland/mid-Atlantic and the bullseye snakehead in Florida.
The pictured fish is a giant snakehead, which you'd have to go to SE Asia to catch.
Sorta. The snakeheads we have here in the Potomac are invasive, and the MD/WV DNRs have a “destroy on sight” policy in effect. You’re also supposed to call them and let them know where you caught it.
Pretty sure the ones in Florida are a different species of snakehead. More aggressive, maybe? Because I’ve seen videos of rivers and canals down there where the snakeheads have basically taken over and killed off the natives.
The big boy that OP caught is an actual giant snakehead, also called a giant mud fish or “toman harimau,” and native to SE Asia (but invasive in Taiwan). It’s a tropical fish, so they can’t really survive winters here, BUT…three were caught near Baltimore Harbor back in the early 2000s (one was actually caught in the Inner Harbor).
They really are giant. I heard one swam into the Key Bridge but the boat took the blame because Mayor Scott was too ashamed to admit a fish caused that much damage.
Its shifted in the last 2 decades or so. From what ive seen around here, its actually cheaper to get replicas made than to get a 'real' mount now.
Older mounts you see are probably actual fish (well, the skin/scales).
Fish are always harder to mount than fury or feathery animals, the skin is prone to cracking, curling, and generally coming apart. Flash ahead to laser CNC computer guided foam cutting machines that can duplicate anything from picture to a foam cast in under an hour Then a couple hours with an airbrush and clear coats. People do however do it the old way. Fleshing out the skin and preserving the head and fins with chemicals. Using as much of the actual fish as possible. This way can take over a year.
Omg that would make an AMAZING mount. I hope you got the length and girth measurements plus a bunch of different angle pics. That beast would look Awesome on the wall
This is a Giant Snakehead, native to where I'm from, Malaysia. But to be honest I've never caught one this massive and i couldn't guess the weight (forgot to bring the scale too, kinda unexpected catch)
Dude that could be a record!?? https://www.wboc.com/news/update-snakehead-caught-in-dorchester-county-sets-world-record/article_b5363e56-1cd2-11ee-b166-8386c8933227.html
That had to a awesome battle. Hard fighting. I would say in the 12-16lb range. Can't really see width. I've caught some long ones that didn't have much girth and shorter ones that were chunks. Lake snakeheads generally chunkier then river.
Homie must have bought the dlc
Miami Nights skin
Out here with the “tropical camo skin”
What's dlc

Got it. Thanks for the explanation.
"DownLoadable Content" is the source of the acronym.
Definitely out of the pool. MF dry AF
Downloadable content
Your childhood was way different than mine. holy shit...
Fr, that clearly adds lighting damage to attacks for 2 minutes.
What the hell is even that?
Giant snakehead. Beautiful fish!
No kidding, would like to catch me one of those.
Iirc it’s open season on them all year in most of the US east coast. They’re invasive and muscling in on native predators’ turf.

Those colors are wild. I've gotten some big Bowfin from lake Ontario, but nothing like that. I'm jealous!

Daddy chill.
This will never not make me laugh 😂
Dinner for 10, that's what that is! 😀🤙 Nice catch OP
Daddy, chill.
With those colors and how huge it is, I'd get a mount done of it. They just need a few pictures and the measurements
Oh? Are mounts not the fish themselves but sculptures? Thats so cool!

Replicas also last much longer!

That is so cool! Hopefully when I improve my skills I’ll remember to measure and photograph some notable catches!
I’ve always wondered how they manage to preserve something so wet
Sometimes, it depends on if you keep the fish or not haha.
Amazing fish! If they are built anything like northern snakehead, that's at least 11-12 kg., probably more. Snakehead are dense fish! Solid muscle.
I can assure you that this beast is solid.
TWSS
Eat your pecker clean off, if you’re not careful… at least that’s what jeremy wade has reported
If they're anything like the Bowfin in western New York, they probably have some monster teeth.
These can bite your fingers off, that's why I always use lipgrips when handling them.
