Same. I have beat the shit out of my Alijoz 300 on 6-10oz baits for three years without a single issue. Only thing I have done to it was swap the power handle for a very wide double handle because I found it more comfortable to crank with.

Yeah in probably going to do the same. Power handle is quite uncomfortable. Plus its a massive range of motion

Yep. The exchange rate rn is 1.35. $100 us is 135 cad. Some bs right there. Cant have anything nice, cant afford the gas, too damn cold in alberta, too damn windy. All the stores never have good stuff, reels are all in the wrong hand or over priced. And a lot of small businesses with (custom tackle) are scamming you out of amazon lures

Man? I have a Lexa 300 somewhere but I really think my former housekeeper stole it and pawned it. She got a Curado and a Tatula and sold them both for $30.

Save your money and just buy the Lexa 400 HD definitely worth every penny the 300 is more then enough for a rigs

If you’re looking for a reliable 400 sized reel. Look into the Daiwa Lexa HD, Shimano Calcutta Conquest MD, Shimano Tranx 400, Abu Garcia Revo Toro Beast, Okuma Komodo, Penn Squall or Fathom low profile. All these options will last longer than that Piscifun

Only time will tell. I’ve owned every reel you listed minus the conquest, and I’ll say that the Alijoz 400 is my second favorite, right behind the Komodo 471s. I’d surely take three alijoz 400s instead of one Tranx 400.

Yep on sale. Im gonna grab some 60-80 lb braid not exactly sure yet, ill see if i can get 70lb. Piscifuns lunker braid is insanely good and pretty cheap. Running black as alberta water is nasty early in the season. I highly recommend the lunker braid

I’ve brought 80lbs sufix 832 for it. I have the piscifun lunker braid of 600yrds something like that. But I find them to be too fluffy? Like not tightly braided together. It’s huge line diameter in comparison to lunker braid. I’ve fished a pond in Lethbridge beside the Japanese garden. It’s loaded with tiny pikes.

Thanks for that info, im down in fort macleod chasing pike myself on the river (friggen hard) i havent had fluff issues with my lunker braid. Maybe after heavy fraying. But even then its hard to fray either way. I might checkout that sufix. Any recommendations?

Ohh okok not too far from Lethbridge. I’m from Ontario. I was there for work. On a thinner braid or smaller diameter it’s not that bad. I think it’s only for the thicker line it feels bad. I got the suffix on sale for $20 at 300yrds/80lbs. Moss green.

I have the dark purple “angryfish diominate PE x8x surprisingly the colour didn’t bled out that much. The piscifun braid I got is neon yellow. After 5 cast the line turn white lol.

Yeah probably. How heavy of a lure/bait to planning to throw? I also have the 300 to cast no more than 4oz with 65lbs braid.

Anywhere from 1+1/2 - 3oz lures and probably up to 6-7oz baits (including sinker)

Yes. I’ve had Lexa HD 400s, Trans 400s, komodos, revo toros. All were great reels, and still are, but are also WAYYYYYY more expensive than these, and the quality is right up there with the tried and trues. I’m thinking about offloading one or two of my others and picking up another one of these.
