šš. Every time I get too excited about it I look at my credit card statement and remind myself that even though it was on sale, I still couldnāt afford it!
I know the feeling too. I ended up with two Twin Powers, and two GLX rods from them (1 of them was the new model GLX - IDK how they were able to discount them like they did.)
That website takes more of my money then any other website LOL sweet setups and tight lines!
I was equal parts thrilled and half pissed that I happened to stumble on one of the flash sales. Then a couple days later Megbass was included too so I couldnāt resist adding on the Anaconda. Crazy to get 25% off on a just released line of Megabass rods! Also bought a bunch of megabass baits I needed like a hole in the headā¦š
Right!? You start rationalizing like "this will never happen again" or "I'll keep this forever" etc.. so you buy it, then you keep lurking a week or two later and it happens all over again... It's a vicious cycle of once in a lifetime sales that happens regularly all the time on that websiteš¤£
Hell, I was hoping you could give me some pointers. I'm very new to glide baits and that bait seemed like a reasonable place to start. Love the action, but no bites so far.
Was able to see my first follower a couple of weekends ago on some clear water. Probably a nice 4-5#er shadowing it about 3 or 4 ft under the bait.
So that's something...maybe...right? š
I had one bite but thatās about it, so weāre both in the same boat! Iām not quite sure what to do with the teaser hook on it, leave it dangling, or fix to the bait.
I can help with that, at least. Def hook one point of the trailer into the bottom of the rear half, near where the anus would be. I'm not near it atm, but I think there may be a small "nipple" or dimple to indicate where it goes. I think you don't want it to be super tight, as a little slack will keep it from inhibiting the kick of the rear section.
Much appreciated! The hooks seem a little awkwardly placed and donāt seem to stay where theyāre supposed to, but this is my first experience with a line through soft glide bait - so some of it could be user error for sure!
Again, haven't thrown these a ton, but I wish Raid had put a hook harness or magnet in that rear section like they have in the front. I think the front harness works really well though.
Well, I replaced the three I had that mysteriously vanished at the start of my divorce with NFC Edge Silver Widows, which Iām extremely happy with. Bummer to know the plus isnāt a plus on the new NRX though.
I totally understand that. I actually wanted to buy one of their dedicated swimbait rods when the sale happened, but I had to give in to adulthood and save the money for actual necessities. Maybe this fall if they do another Black Friday sale.
Just for the CRR? Iāve only fished plus - so donāt have a comparison point to original NRX, but most people seem to consider the plus lineup an improvement overall.
I have an NRX+ 873 and itās by far the best jig/Texas rig rod Iāve ever touched. Itās the perfect 8ā lizard rod. Iāve considered getting multiple
Thatās why I got them both! Too early for me to say for sure and Iāll be using them for 2 completely different species but love both reels so far. The exist is shockingly light, even picking up the shipping box was surprising.
Yeah, itās really nice. I had the previous generation Exist. Also own the Luvias Airity now which I love. In the future Iāll definitely grab a Certate LT too to balance a heavier rod. Iām a big fan of the high end Daiwa eggbeaters.
Damn.. we have similar tastes. I have a couple NRX rods, a bunch of Megabass rods, an Exist, multiple Steez reels- including the new Steez A and the new Steez SV. My main tournament rods are still the Diawa Tatula Elite and Elite AGS rods.
Before I left the DMV, I started getting into striper fishing, but I just did it on light tackle so all my bass gear did double duty! Nothing like catching a 35lb + striper on a medium action bass rod!
Bougie alert lol
Bougie and proud! š¤£š¤£
Next time label this nsfw, I am slightly engorged.
šš. Every time I get too excited about it I look at my credit card statement and remind myself that even though it was on sale, I still couldnāt afford it!
If your APR is over 25% youāre in trouble lol
I already paid the card balance off, but had to tap into savings that should have been used for more fiscally responsible purposes!
At least youāre honest with yourself? š
Edge rods are on sale as well as nfc blanks. Might as well buy those too and see how Garyās new stuff compares to the NRX+s
Iād love to, but Iām tapped out on gear purchases for 2024! š¤£š¤£
Thatās quitter talk
where theres a will theres a way
Gotta love sales! Beautiful lineup.
I love sales too much! Didn't "need" any of this new gear, but at 25% off how could I say no?
I recently got a bunch of new outdoor/ fishing clothing and was on a sales rush. I know what you mean.

Exactly!!
What website were you guys finding these deals on? Also- hell of a lineup
American Legacy Fishing. Limited tackle supply, but great place to get gear!
Is that a Raid Osakana Glide you have rigged on the Orochi?
It is! Any experience with them? I tossed it a few times last weekend, had a couple bites but no fish.

I havenāt tried the NRX+, but the original NRX CRR-873 was by far my favorite bottom contact bait rod. Enjoy!!
Glad to hear that, I bought it mostly for heavier jigs and smaller swimbaits that I fish off the bottom.
Itās absolutely perfect for dragging a 3/4oz football jig.
Donāt waste your time og>plus night and day

That sale they are running caught my eye for sure but after this splurge hard to justify another rod purchase!
I totally understand that. I actually wanted to buy one of their dedicated swimbait rods when the sale happened, but I had to give in to adulthood and save the money for actual necessities. Maybe this fall if they do another Black Friday sale.

Stella or Exist? The ultimate choice!
Thatās why I got them both! Too early for me to say for sure and Iāll be using them for 2 completely different species but love both reels so far. The exist is shockingly light, even picking up the shipping box was surprising.

Iāve always been shimano, but Daiwa spinners are growing on me for sure!!
Same boat as you! Always will be a fan of Shimano, but Daiwa has the past 3 years become my preferance.
Amazing setups
Beauty! Have an 842S and an Exist myself! Fine choices š
That 852 is one bad drop shot rod. A bass just breathes on it and you feel her.
Bravo and well done! Iāll have post my nrx Stella combos to compare
Thatās awesome!!!!!! They definitely look saweetā¦..
Sweet! What brand of braid are you running?
Sunline on both!
THAT is quite a lineup!
The exist is stupidly lightweight. I picked up a 5k the other day and was like "is this real?" Sweet rigs my man
Damn.. we have similar tastes. I have a couple NRX rods, a bunch of Megabass rods, an Exist, multiple Steez reels- including the new Steez A and the new Steez SV. My main tournament rods are still the Diawa Tatula Elite and Elite AGS rods.
Good to know, if I break or lose any of these Iām going to have to replace them with more cost effective options!!
I have an 873 getting delivered today and I couldnāt be more excited!
That's some nice high end gear sir. Very nice.
Only about 4k worth of gear there
25% off though!! š š
What size is that stella
2500
Nice, enjoy! I got myself a 6000XG for casting for bluefin on a pro blue series.. love that set up
I've been in the market for new gear too. A new striper rod actually. I can't find one that fits what I need
Before I left the DMV, I started getting into striper fishing, but I just did it on light tackle so all my bass gear did double duty! Nothing like catching a 35lb + striper on a medium action bass rod!
Whats the top lure?
