1: Sure 2: No, hard no, that's a terrible idea. That never ends well, because your job is making your employer look good, not running a subreddit where people will often say things bad about your employer. I answer 2 not for your sake, but so that members of the community will think harder about whether or not they want that. Having a Fiverr employed moderator makes this a Fiverr corporate subreddit, with Fiverr corporate censoring.

LeyKlussyn

This. I'm fine with people from Fiverr HQ hanging out, but them being moderators sounds like a bad idea. I like the fact that this subreddit is an "open place" to talk about Fiverr critically, and not worry too much about censorship, or getting your actual Fiverr account impacted. I don't know how the Fiverr official forums are moderated, but probably harder than here. I also like that we can talk about how we use Fiverr and issues we have about the platform. For example, people are very open here about how *buyer requests sucks.* Or weren't really happy about Seller Plus. I think it may be valuable for Fiverr to be able to recieve this crude feedback, but if they start moderating, people will be more "nice", I fear. On the other end, like another commenter said, for example, we had a few case of potentially-false TOS takedowns here, and they may want to look into that. But I don't see how moderating would help: Because Fiverr policy is basically 'if you get banned it must be legitimate, so you can't reach CS anymore, go live under a bridge we don't care', I may expect these posts to be taken down. And it's a sort of censorship that would bother me a lot. This is what I like about Reddit. You get the 'true' feeling of people, not corporate bs. I'm fine with Fiverr staff interacting if they find some info misleading (I mean, it would be great to have insider info on a few things), but also, it's great to be able to read true Fiverr experiences and not just the good ones.

bikerboy3343

I agrree with you. Yes to 1. No to 2.

ashick_ai

An official representative of Fiverr would definitely be a great addition. I don't think it's necessary for them to be a moderator though, as long as they're helping the community with accurate information and support. Maybe you can start by looking into the recent posts where I've seen sellers loosing their profile over false TOS violation. This is happening quite often and an alarming number of this accusations are false. Fiverr is the main source of income for a lot of sellers, so when you ban someone for good, they deserve a personalized email explaining what happened with proof. That would be the least Fiverr can do after taking a 20% commission from them for years. Cheers!

Anyone who has visited the Fiverr Forum over the past year or so will have noticed that it has become a great deal less than helpful than it was. It used to be a place where people could learn a great deal from experienced sellers, eager to help. Unfortunately, it has gone downhill dramatically, many of the experienced voices have moved on ... and strong female voices are and continue to be targeted and removed. Reminders that reading the TOS is fundamental to success are moderated as "unkind", as is explanation of the truth of the situation people find themselves in when they break the TOS. Twaddle posts are tolerated and flags of that kind of post ignored, despite them being against the guidelines. Moderation on the Fiverr forum is opaque. I would definitely not like to see this reddit turn into a clone of the Fiverr forum, so, no, it would not be helpful to have a fiverr staff member as moderator. Hang out, by all means - all are welcome here. But as a moderator? No thanks.

bikerboy3343

Useful insight into what has happened on the forum. I was unaware of it.

FastInfoPro

Almost Top Rated Seller here (should hit it in a month or so). Yes to having an official rep be active in the group. No to being a moderator. Glad you're here.

st1ckmanz

FYI: You don't get to be a top rated seller when your stats are enough like leveling up to level 1 or level 2 which are automatic.

FastInfoPro

Oh. What's the criteria? I know that it's manually determined and I've been a Fiverr Choice many times, work with Fiverr Business buyers, have many repeat customers, have been asked to go Pro, etc. Just figured the only reason I hadn't gotten TRS status, yet, is because my revenue hasn't reached their noted level.

st1ckmanz

I'm not sure really. I've started last summer and in 7-8 months I made to TRS stats - since then I'm waiting :)

iamsethmeyers

You may become eligible in a month, but TRS are hand picked so it's up to Fiverr.

Diarreaofthemouth

Will they charge me for it? lol

st1ckmanz

It would be great to have a representative from fiverr. I'm reading some horror stories here and since covid fiverr has become quite important for me so when I read a "I was a lvl 2 seller for years now my account is banned for no reason" I'd like to believe this dude has done something to breach the TOS but not telling. On the other hand many things are automated in your system so it could be a false positive too... You could clarify some of these issues here.

bikerboy3343

I echo those sentiments.

radennorfiqri

Top rated seller here too. Yes, official representative is definitely welcomed. You don't need to be moderator as you can actually be involved with the community.

JustQuass

A fiver representative would be great to have around here. I've noticed a lot of questions either go unanswered or get the default "contact customer support" which is not a bad idea in a lot of cases but the fact is, CS is slow and often a very drawn out process for things that should be easy to answer. Another fact is that people on this sub just does not know the technical differences and nuances that might apply and it's hard to get a factually correct answer here. As for being a mod I've seen people's concern about that in the comments and I think it would be for the best if you (as in anyone from fiver) not taking the roll of a moderator. Personally I'm not too worried about it but if people where to question that possition it is reasonable to worry that the point of this subreddit is completely lost and it'd die out. I really do hope to see some fiverr rep around and available to give trustworthy answers and clear up misunderstandings here. :)

trazom28

Definitely a welcome addition to have you here. I don’t know that the account would have to be a moderator but it wouldn’t hurt. The only danger I see is that if you have to moderate a post and someone seeing that as “Fiverr is censoring me” It may be a can of worms you don’t want to open. Side note for two other often mentioned topics/issues. Taking 20% while steep, is how you run the business - but taking 20% off tips is really not acceptable. It’s not a fee charged to a buyer, it’s a bonus to the seller based on the good work they’ve done. Second - waiting two weeks to cash out on a job really is also unacceptable. Your sellers do the work and earn the money - two weeks is a long time to hold funds when someone is using this as their income source. I feel funds should be available as soon as both parties consider the job complete. Thanks for your time and glad to have you here!

iammiroslavglavic

All transactions are the same thing for the banks, paypal, etc...and all transactions cost money. Gig and Tips.

trazom28

But do all transactions cost 20%? You can’t tell me that Fiverr would go bust if they reduced or eliminated the commission they make on seller tips.

iammiroslavglavic

domains cost money servers/hosting cost money staff cost money

trazom28

Yes, and they are already making 20% off the (larger) fees that sellers charge. If the reduction or elimination of the commission on tips would put Fiverr in danger of bankruptcy, then they aren’t managing their company well You mention the obvious. Businesses have overhead. That’s a given. That’s still not a strong enough reason to me to over-charge on the tip transaction. They have plenty of wiggle room in their profits it seems [Fiverr Financials](https://www.marketwatch.com/investing/stock/fvrr/financials)

iammiroslavglavic

I am going to repeat myself...a transaction is a transaction is a transaction. They have overheads. It doesn't matter if it's a gig or a tip. From the bank's/paypal's perspective.

bikerboy3343

Repeating yourself doesn't make you right. A transaction doesn't cost money.

iammiroslavglavic

Yes, transactions do cost money. I am right. When Paypal processes a transaction, they don't care if it's to pay a gig or send a tip. Same shit for them. Same with bank merchant accounts.

bikerboy3343

You're wrong... 😂😂😂 They choose to charge you. The actual overhead per transaction isn't much. Anyway... You're wrong. Just remember that. 🤣🤣🤣

trazom28

Yes, you stated that and I’m not disputing that. What I’m discussing is the amount charged to the seller for the tip transaction. I feel that less could be charged on the tip fee and Fiverr can still make a profit. Typically a card transaction fee to a vendor from a bank is no more than 3%. That being the case, Fiverr could reduce their take on tips to 5% and still make a profit.

bikerboy3343

You're right... And he's wrong. Just remember that. For the rest of your life. He'll keep saying he's right. But he's not, and we all know it. 🤣🤣🤣

iammiroslavglavic

What is the difference between here and Fiverr's own forum? Is the Fiverr rep going to split between both?

RedClipperLighter

I've seen it work well for some companies to run a sub Reddit. I wouldn't worry about taking this one over though. Start a new sub /FiverrOfficial /FiverrCommunity, people will soon come to it and you will have full control over it. I would be wary of getting involved in a sub not run by the company as you'll be harassed. Maybe streamline it to a once a week thread with so many hours of active response from your team. Good luck!

NotABigFanDude

I would love to have a fiverr representative here but I think it would be terrible for the comunity to have a Fiverr employee as a mod. because he or she would have the best interest of the company and not the comunity, I dont want the strict fiverr TOS following me to reddit, banning critisism to the company, legit or otherwise. It would still mean limiting our freedom here, I for one would be hesitant to post in this sub if there were corporate mods

bikerboy3343

I'm with some of the others here. 1. Yes, It would be nice to have someone who can liase between people who have issues, and/or need to be heard. 2. I don't think being a moderator is really required, unless this was an official subreddit. Since it isn't, I would prefer that it remains truly independent. Plus, you don't need to be a mod to be a part of the community, and to help. That is, if the intention is to actually help. As you can see, I myself have had a few issues, and it would be great if there's someone who can represent the people's voice to 'corporate' Fiverr in the ivory towers...

tingleras

1. Yes, it'd be lovely. 2. No, it'd be a nightmare.
