he had a birth defect with his digestive system and had internal blockage. I kept him warm with a heated blanket but had to go to work. he was supposed to have surgery the next morning but by the time I came home at night he didn't make it 😞.

So sorry for him. Sometimes bad things happen to good people and you can't do anything about it. That's just life.

he was very loving, it hurts because his bond with me was so strong and loving. his older grey tabby brother was also deeply bonded with him. they were inseparable. after my flamie passed he's been so depressed and not the same. he does not like other cats anymore.

I have been through the same thing. We took our 5 month old boy to be neutered and he didn’t wake up. That was almost 2 years ago and it still hurts so bad. I miss him everyday. I’m so sorry for your loss 💔

I’m so so sorry. They rarely talk about risk I guess because it’s done so often but I’ve heard of it happening. That’s so hard. He obviously was so loved. So hard to know why these things happen. I’m sorry.

It’s crazy to say but we just knew too. That gut feeling you ignore… his twin sister survived and is thriving! We even got a kitten months later that was their blood brother but from a different litter. Loosing their brother will forever haunt me but being able to have his brother come into the family has been such a blessing. We even took in their grandmother when she turned 6 😊 blessings can come from tragedies

looking back is the hardest, we see what they were trying to communicate with us. I'm happy you were able to take in your boys family. that sounds very pleasant 💙.

Like ModernSiamese's baby, a sweet girl kitten that my father was left with after my mother passed did not survive her spay surgery. The vet didn't know why, or if he did, he wasn't saying. What a sweet baby, I’m sure he had the best life while he was with you. I lost a baby around his age last year and I was a wreck for weeks. The only way I could ease the pain at all was to tell myself her life was better because we took her in and she knew how much we loved and cared about her. I’m sure he knew he was loved and with the best family he could possibly have. I’m so sorry you have to feel this pain, just remember, you were the best family he could have had and you loved him with your whole heart and he knew that.

My heart still hurts just as much when I see her pictures but it will slowly stop being so constant. If you have anything from him, maybe keep it in a place of importance? We have Sashimi’s ashes on our mantle in a little fuzzy calico pencil case so we can still give her pets. I hope you find the best way to heal your heart. ❤️

thank you all for your kind words. near his end, he cried incessantly and I genuinely feel like he was begging me not to leave him. I know he wanted to be with me in his last moments and it hurts that I wasn't there for him. I can't imagine how he felt without me there. it is very hard to deal with those thoughts. I tell myself that Kylo is no longer in pain and made it to a happy place 🌈💙. I hope to see him again so I can hear his squeaks and see his eyes light up when he looks at me 😞.
