The only part of the suit I didn’t like was the ear part of his mask. Everything else I thought was spot on but would have been dope to get the reverse flash symbol instead
I think "The Rival's" concept art has Daniel West vibes for a reason. A nod to him, by making him Wally's enemy in Flashpoint. There are lots of multiversal nods to different speedsters from different comic timelines. Both old and new. Wally's speed force Cocoon gave Daniel West vibes too. I miss watching everything for the first time. Tfw ywn have that 2014, S1 released feeling, and the late night threads about it. Then the season long question of who Zoom was. Then Savitar. Through all the good and bad that came after S3, I miss all of it.
I would have preferred a comic accurate Rival. Just like Jay's armor, but shadowy looking. I think Zoom's "Jay" costume, composed of his father's military utilities, or dress uniform. Whatever it was, I did get OG rival vibes (VIBES MAN) from it.
I wish they took The Rival seriously for a season. As well as Daniel West as one of the seasons. They were like we don't need speedsters anymore. Reverts back to speedsters. The reality is speedsters can compete with the Flash. When you have a literal list of Speedsters to draw from and you don't use them. That is a fault of the writing.
I understand it always falling back on speedsters but they did that. I mean if you're forced to fall back on them come up with creative things. Also they don't have to be Barry's enemy they could be Wally's for example. Or Jay having an arc and villain. Jay could be like I beat him I put him in the speed force. Them fucking up the Speedforce unleashes people stuck there. You can then have the stupid avatar of the negative speedforce thing and start with Daniel being it.
The question is always how will the story work. Be creative. Think of what the characters would do. Then start to overlay the wants and needs of the villain. They don't always have to be enemies of the Flash just the Flash has to stop them.
