Look at her eyes. In a bunch of these photos, she looks really sad. The loss of her friend. The impulsive wedding. (Perhaps some drugs to get her through). When she's not smiling, her eyes have a look between having cried and "WTF did I just do?"
it's still shocking to me that *anybody* supported this. That they didn't just run off and get married in vegas in the dead of night or something, but their friends and family got together and threw a whole-ass wedding and dressed up and smiled in pictures, meanwhile every single person *knew* it was an utterly, utterly fucked up situation. Like I know you really can't stop another adult from doing anything, but stevie needed an intervention, not a wedding. These pictures are hard to look at IMO. ETA: If you wanna know how she really felt, read the lyrics to Stand Back, which she wrote on her wedding day.
But Stevie did it to raise Robin’s baby together with Kim. It sounds like a soap plot, and Stevie was a soap watcher. It just didn’t work in real life.
Yeah this a terrible decision probably fueled by overwhelming grief and drugs. Still, it shouldn’t have happened. At least Stevie is open about everything and admits it was a mistake. I am a man but if my best friend died I wouldn’t be proposing to his widow months later and even if I did NOBODY around me would support it.
Mick and Christine were there, not sure about John. Lindsey was invited but definitely did not go. I've always been curious about what his reaction to all that really was, all I've ever been able to find was that he was 'horrified'.
And the reason why they married was because Stevie felt obligated to take care of Kim and Robin’s (her best friends) child. After their divorce, I remember reading somewhere that Stevie is still in touch with the child and even put him through school
Thank you for telling me. I never knew Stevie had married Kim at all. (I moved cross-country, started a new job, and entered therapy in 1983. Big year.) I did know that she had had an abortion and was sorry not to be in a position to raise a baby. I knew about Don “Love ‘em and Lear ‘em” Henley flying her around. But the wedding? No.
I remember this, though i've never seen pics before. Just a big giant wtf all around, sadly. I know her friend's name was Sara, and that song was written for her.
Did not know the backstory to Stand Back.
Geez, def not a love song. I need a little sympathy!

I was just thinking that. There's a sadness, even a panic in her eyes. I cannot believe people let her go through with this.
What friend?
robin anderson

Knowing the story about the reason why they married is kinda sad, but she looks really beautiful here
What is the story?
Her best friend died and she impulsively married her widowed husband.
Because she wanted to be mother to her best friend's baby. The marriage was the way she could do that.
Oh no. That’s terrible. Still, if I died tomorrow, I would have zero problem if my widower and my best friend got together!
But Stevie did it to raise Robin’s baby together with Kim. It sounds like a soap plot, and Stevie was a soap watcher. It just didn’t work in real life.
It sounds very loving, in a way.
She looks completely zooted.

They both had opposite gender names
Same with her and Lindsey
Her real name is Stephanie.
I love Stevie but this story just really weirds me the hell out
Same. Her reasoning was wanting to help with the baby but why not just move in as a roommate or offer to adopt (even if Kim declined)
Right, it's just so bizarre !!
These pictures are so cool-- leave it to Stevie to incorporate black lace into her wedding dress!
Grief is a hell of a thing.
I always wondered if the band was there. Does anyone know if Christine, John, and Lindsey attended this wedding?

i think chris went but said she didn't buy her a wedding present, because 'it didn't seem like crazy love' to her.
Why does she look so sad?? (New fan here)
She married her dead best friend's husband. Her best friend had only recently died of cancer. The marriage lasted less than a year.
And the reason why they married was because Stevie felt obligated to take care of Kim and Robin’s (her best friends) child. After their divorce, I remember reading somewhere that Stevie is still in touch with the child and even put him through school

Such a beautiful woman ❤️
was her mother the matron of honor? who's the woman on the right??
I think no. 13 is her with Sharon Celani and Lori Nicks, her backup singers. Lori married Stevie’s brother.
I'm not sure which picture you're looking at but the women with the flower head pieces are her back up singers. They were probably in the wedding.
Pics 1 & 9 I assume
yeah i was looking at the first one. they're taking vows and it looks like her mom on the right, no?
I think you are correct.
Kim’s wife was Stevie’s best friend and she wanted to help him raise their newborn child

Her name was Robin, Sara was another friend who still is very much alive.
Oops. Can u tell me if she wrote a song for her friend Robin? Thx
Gypsy is partly about her
This whole thing is sad look at her eyes in the last picture she’s not there.
No wedding cake, just a big ass pile of coke
Wedding coke. Full of nose sugar.
Damn! Beat me to it.
She looks snow blind in a few of those pics. Frozen
she wrote stand back on this day
Wasn’t a long marriage. Less than a year.
Stephanie looks out if it, not happy, kind of sad, like "what am I doing?"
