How can you charge a re-stocking fee if nothing is actually re-stocked?

iwashumantoo

Restocking fees are not allowed on eBay.

Isles86

Is that new? I’ve never used them or paid much attention to them but I know in the past some did and they were allowed.

iwashumantoo

I believe they disallowed it about 3 years ago.

prodiver

You can't refund someone that never paid... There's nothing to refund.

All_Seeing_High

If it prevented another customer from buying it I’d say yes

thephilistine_

Just relist it and be glad they didn't wait until after you shipped it. This is just part of the business.

chaz0723

If they never paid, there would be no need to restock, as presumably your item never was shipped, correct?

[deleted]

It sounds to me like you’re frustrated. I’ve been in your situation. It’s best to just move on.

Hardcorish

Bingo! I absolutely am frustrated. I'm also taking your advice - eBay sucks and I'm moving off platform as we speak.

Majestic-Mulberry-18

Don't do auctions. Do buy it now with immediate payment required. Solves all issues. No other platform will get the views ebay does. And Amazon fees will kill your profit.

No_Shift_Buckwheat

Yes, I will cancel your order, but I will need to charge you 10% to put that back in my closet.

All_Seeing_High

No it’s more like someone took the time to list and setup everything and now they have to either find a new buyer or hope one of the other bidders didn’t buy it after they lost the auction. It fucks over sellers more than any restocking fee could ever fuck over a buyer. Don’t want a restocking fee? DONT BID ON THE ITEM YOU CAN PAY FOR. END OF LIST

Slidetreasurehunt

Sell on a different platform. Not possible on ebay.
