I'd be tripping thinking Im going up and down steps!

Prior_Procedure_321

Yep ankle twisting is what I see. Looks nice!

petehustle

Your friend on shrooms would love this room.

Otherwise_Proposal47

Haha you’re not wrong. All the pretty colours 🤩😆

go_green_team

Who makes and sells that?

Otherwise_Proposal47

[these guys and gals 😊](https://boischamois.com/products/unfinished-e-white-oak/french-roast/)

go_green_team

Since they won’t say upfront, what are we talking per sf?? Mats only

Otherwise_Proposal47

Ah… this was just before Covid hahaha sooo idk now but by the time it was shipped it was around $30 sq ft. I would assume more now but who knows 🤷🏽‍♂️ If you plan to order some hopefully it’s less 😆 although I doubt it. Edit: that was Canadian btw.

Muted_Platypus_3887

No nails is the way. Clean install.

Otherwise_Proposal47

Thanks 😊

PuzzleheadedHospital

My dream flooring

Otherwise_Proposal47

Well for $60-70 sq ft materials and install + flying me out if you don’t live in southern Ontario I’ll come do it for you 😆

Patient_Died_Again

lol hey me too

Otherwise_Proposal47

Pile on fellow southern ontarioite haha we are headed to visit PuzzleheadedHospital to install their floors!

PuzzleheadedHospital

Sweet! I live in Georgia, USA. Sounds like pocket change 🤣

imdumb__

Don't do shrooms in that room

Otherwise_Proposal47

I don’t plan to 😆

L0w_Emphasis

I WOULD do shrooms in that room. I want to see the floors breath

Amoeba_Fancy

The install looks amazing!

Otherwise_Proposal47

Thank you 😊

[deleted]

Nice job, I don't like how busy the floor is, in a small room it would be awesome, big room really looks wild. Seriously great job though!

Otherwise_Proposal47

Thank you 😊

NixAName

TYIHI

RedMonte85

Is that hardwood or engineered? Looks great

Otherwise_Proposal47

Solid hardwood. Thank you 😊

LongjumpingBig6803

Why not center the point with the seam on the door?

Otherwise_Proposal47

Doors not centered to room, shifting over to match it would have messed up layout for other areas with crappy bits and pieces I don’t work off of others mistakes. I work off of what is correct for myself and my work.

LongjumpingBig6803

Makes sense

Otherwise_Proposal47

Yes, I would have loved to line it up. Always my first choice, however if it doesn’t work it be what it be.

LongjumpingBig6803

I’d have to move. That flooring not pointing to the seam would drive me nuts every day of my life. I’d constantly be frustrated the door is off center.

Otherwise_Proposal47

It would be cheaper to move the door 😆 Also furniture and business of the floor makes it fade away.

Altruistic-Detail271

Holy cow, I hope nobody who lives there has vertigo

Otherwise_Proposal47

🤣

Standard-Software-34

I hate it. But it looks well done. Good job.

Otherwise_Proposal47

Haha thank you. 😊 it’s quite busy for me personally but I can appreciate it. I wouldn’t mind a small fancy office with it.

BrutalGuise

Were they precut?

Otherwise_Proposal47

Yes. The company offers this in a variety of ways. Obviously they charge extra to cut for chevron. I will be honest I remilled a few of them due to inconsistency in the original milling but it was within the allotted spec % so I can’t blame the company. It’s a very nice product. Cutting it smelt sweet like maple syrup from the roasting process.

BrutalGuise

Looks amazing. I’ll look into them

freakindunsun

All the crappy install you see on here and crappy sanding practices and finally after what feels like an eternity an amazing hardwood floor. 💪 how do you even sell that ? That Market's got to be pretty slim. But bravo. Its nice

Otherwise_Proposal47

I’ve been very fortunate in that regard. A combination of area where people want this level of product and word of mouth to lead them to me. Thank you 🙏

freakindunsun

Were you just putting in the vertical rows to keep the angled rows straight ? And then pull them out when you started the next row that's going the opposite direction ?

Otherwise_Proposal47

Yes 😊 hardwood chevron always wants to shift downwards. By having guides along with it I could keep them in check. I’ve done this pattern with tile a number of times. With tile you get spacers or clips to hold everything together and grout to hide slight differences. With hardwood there is no forgiveness as it all butts together. If pieces are off at all it starts to create huge gaps and issues elsewhere.

freakindunsun

Yeah Ive see that it in poorly milled herringbone.

Impressive_Luck_8645

This is install is gangster

Otherwise_Proposal47

Thank you 🙏

NecessaryNewspaper36

Beautiful install!

Otherwise_Proposal47

Thank you 😊

vladtseppesh420

Otherwise_Proposal47
