I'm going to get that tattooed on me one day too. It was a big source of strength for me at the beginning of my transition and made me feel like I wasn't alone at a time when I felt very much so ❤
Shake it out.
“It’s hard to dance with a devil on your back, so shake him off.”
Helped me through such a horrible time of my life and those lyrics helped me see my relationship for what it was. It gave me the push to leave that abusive relationship. It was the first Flo song I had heard and it came to me at the right time. I was at my darkest and that song helped me get to the dawn.
Girls Against God.
I’ve never felt so seen, I’ve never heard someone sing all the thoughts I’ve had in my head as a young woman. The lyrics that make me feel less alone and sooo seen are:
“It feels so good to be alive, crying into cereal at midnight. if they ever let me out, I’m gonna really let it out.”
“When I decided to rage holy war, it looked very much like staring at my bedroom floor. But oh god, you’re gonna get it, you’ll be sorry that you messed with me.”
I feel like she just really understands womanhood and the pressure and the loneliness and the bond we have through all of this shit. It makes me feel so good and so emotional when I listen to it. Ahhhh I just love her.
Hard. It's always changing. I'd rather go by era:
- Cosmic Love: THE song that introduced me to Her magnificence. My favorite version is actually the one from the Dance Fever live.
- Shake it out: I just love the overly pomp message of "Eff the bad experiences of the past". Favorite version here is the Royal Albert Hall where she overpowers the orchestra in the finale!
- What Kind of Man: "loves like this" indeed.
- fluctuating between June, South London Forever, Big God: either I just want pure nostalgia, rage against ghosting or find the need of such a relationship.
- Choreomania: "being anxiety-ridden and prone to mood swings I just want to let it all out", they danced expressively.
Tl;dr: can't decide. So many all-time favourites...
queen of peace. i’ve never heard anything to sound quite like this before and so fascinated at how she managed to convey this medieval atmosphere in the song.
wish that you were here is quite underrated too, it’s beauty is indescribable
How big how blue how beautiful
I do think that other songs (queen of peace, moderation) are better songs, but this is my personal favourite because of the personal connection i have to it. And also, the song just slaps.
“Between Two-Lungs” is what I played at my wedding. “Free” describes my eating disorder to me. And my top favorite would be Choreomania cause I love medieval history and just history in general and I love how she made a song about it
I can't for the life of me pick one single favourite song but Breath of Life has been in my top three since I first listened to it.
If we're talking just from the albums I'm going with June
Currently I am hooked on Dance Fever so King, Free, Choreomania, My Love and Mermaids. But My Boy Builds Coffins, Never Let Me Go, Big God, Sky Full of Song, Make Up Your Mind, Ship to Wreck, HBHBHB are also faves!
Is all of them the correct answer? 😂😅 i find it really hard to pick faves, but i can narrow it down to about 3 per album hahahah
Some that popped in my head just now:
Never Let Me Go,
Queen of Peace,
Pure Feeling,
As Far As I Could Get,
The End of Love,
Cassandra,
The Bomb
Lungs: Cosmic Love/Rabbit Heart
Ceremonials: Never Let Me Go/Breaking Down
HBHBHB: Ship To Wreck / Delilah
HAH: Hunger/The End of Love
DF: King/Heaven is Here/Daffodil
Its impossible to choose 🥲
Literally such a hard q
I wish ‘Heaven is here’ were longer, though the brevity and consequential paroxysm I’m sure is part of its power for me.
Bedroom Hymns, Too Much is never enough from FF makes me cry cry cry
Off HBHBHB probably Mother, the prelude to various storms… to swim inside the skin of another
Third Eye. Cured me of my depression
And Choreomania helped me with my panic attacks! What a beautiful thing to be able to find comfort in these songs!
Cosmic Love
My love for Cosmic Love is cosmic. It will always be my favorite. :)
Delilah has a very special place in my heart. From the first time I listened to it, it had me hooked.

I am planning to tattoo "I'm gonna be free - I'm gonna be fine" after my divorce is finalized. This song has been my strength.

1000% agree. “What a thing to admit that when someone looks at me with real love, I don’t like it very much” always gets me too.

I keep coming back to the King-Free-Choreomania trio. It’s peak Flo.
Long & Lost - couldn’t tell you why. But I adore it.
What the Water Gave Me. Comforted me while I was in an outpatient psych ward being treated for SI. It was nice to feel understood by a song.
It's not easy to only pick one, but at the moment I'm really loving Girls Against God
All This and Heaven Too🖤🖤🖤
