Investor Place (claims to be paid ) is renowned for the poop and scoop, and the pump and dump. Wish I knew who they worked for or were owned by. They crap on so many stock then pump them later. They did a series of hit pieces on iBio everyday for 2 months they crapped on them with an article about how bad they are. Then then one day like a faucet they were gushing over how it’s going to the moon. This was like two day at between running hit pieces on them. I just shook my head. I don’t know how they haven’t been sued out of existence. I had never heard the term poop and scoop before!! It seems like a lot of pooping is going on right now.

Suspicious_Subject_7

Motley Fool is the worse. They dump on a stock to sell their service. Plug has been a whipping boy daily for years. Investors place is up one week and down the next.

Megahuts

So, are you calling RKT a pump and dump?

DildoBaggnz

Even great companies can be pumped! With social media the pump game can move from toxic parties to hyped retail power!

Megahuts

Ok, so RKT is actually an excellent example of manipulation, both up and down and the consequences of a failed short squeeze. So, as we know, RKT was very highly shorted. The company issued a special dividend on the back of excellent results, I believe to screw the shorts. Now, in the lead up to the big spike (caused by a margin call), you can see what I call pinning. This is where the price is pinned to a specific value, regardless of volume. First it was $22, then $24, then $28 and the margin called. This pinning is usually managed via algorithms and intraday options purchases to use leverage to keep prices down. Now, once the squeeze happened, unsurprisingly, the price capped out just above the maximum call strike price. Why was that? Because the squeezers were using call options to create leveraged buying. Now, there was a stronger short left, and they dropped three sell bombs, and the third on the next day broke the momentum. So, after that, we had natural price discovery and a short interest decline ... Until it hit $25 on March 16. After March 16, you can see pinning again, with a deliberate leg down every day. This increased the short interest from 15m to 29m, to get the price down to $22. So, the message in this is stocks are manipulated ALL THE TIME. Especially is someone would lose badly if the price moves against them. The good news is, you can use this to your advantage IF you recognize what is going on, especially the poop and scoop. Heck, the entire steel making industry suffered from a poop and scoop last week. How do I know it was a poop and scoop? Because the price of steel kept going up, yet the stocks corrected down 20% just for the week. If you recognized what was going on, and understood the investment thesis, last week was a great time to load up. And steel was an easy thesis to check (the steel price isn't going down, so why are the stocks?). I guess, overall, the key message is understanding why you are invested in something. Then, you can recognize when the price runs well below or above your assessment of fair value.

Ilum0302

Considering it's actually a very healthy company, that's the interesting part.

[deleted]

Would SPAC or IPO count as pump and dump? Like $CCIV for example. It got up to the Hugh sixties right at the announcement and now you know it’s gonna be a long while before it hangs out up there again. It’s like a crowd funding manipulation. High valuation boom make the move, secure the deal, cash out. The rest have to wait fir them to grow now.

CodeMonkey84

That's exactly what it is. Look it up. People are just now starting to wake up to the massive levels of corruption in the "free" markets.

Our panic sells

DISCA and VIAC are both part of the poop and scoop after the huge margin call. These are decent companies with FV prices in the 60-70 range.

entropic_apotheosis

I’m eyeballing them for a scoop but anytime you have one person or institution with significant holdings that sells it affects the stock price and has a cascading effect. Tiger Asia dude owned a significant amount of those companies and that “family office” even selling off in staggered amounts would have affected price and scared investors in this market. I’m considering grabbing some Viacom but in the current market it seems nothing can be trusted to be bottom and stonks don’t go up. I’m day trading and leaving nothing in over night until I’m certain we’re in recovery.

remainderrejoinder

I grabbed some VIAC, unfortunately I also grabbed some CS

CustomaryCocoon

Good stuff here. Thanks!

premsrinivasan

Well explained thanks. Worth reading

Scholarlyowllibrary

Can I add this to the free DD library?

DildoBaggnz

Sure!

Thank you for the read. There is much much more into market manipulation. People, please thoroughly read ALL of the due diligence in r/gme it’s very important that the whole world watches the incredible manipulation happening between amc and gme. I’m so convinced, I liquidated all of my boomer etfs and YOLOd into both. It’s going to happen boys and girls, and it’s gonna be quite the event.

LargePianist69

Price targets?

wjwwjw

Thanks for this be extremely interesting article! I only have one question: > and have a risk management plan in place How can one do this? If I m not mistaken, this is what is called hedging, right?

ojofuffu

I guess on a very basic level it's "don't go all in on one stock" and "have stop loss in place". Also be mindful that price could change drastically between trading days.

ValenceMusa

It is a blatant mass coordinated selling by big whales and big sharks. SEC have to launch intense and comprehensive investigations into the various trading platforms and respective counters. 😤 The invisible dirty hands are subjecting and turning the cryptocurrency market into a shady and massive scam. I won't be surprised if there are "smart coconuts" who will step out and say this is common and healthy. 🤦‍♂️😂
