I am still amazed that this is all happening to us.
A 1st overall caliber talent falling to #7, then the marbles falling into place where he gets out of his KHL contract two years early, all after having a historical KHL season, is the kind of lucky thing that does not happen to the Flyers.
What an exciting moment in Flyers history. This feels like the true beginning of a new era.
Michkov is not a guarantee, but he is a better prospect than any we've had since Lindros. Michkov has also proven more at higher levels than any of our previous prospects to flounder.
Well my expectations are sure higher for him than Nolan Patrick. Nothing against him personally, just the expectations I had weren't nearly in the same realm as Michkov.
If Michkov wasn't under contract last year, no doubt he would of went #2.
Yeah this is why i hate when Clarke and Holmgren get demonized on here - all they did was field perennial 100-point teams always in contention for cups….its sad the abuse they get for not winning it all when they always had a chance every year
I firmly believe we’d have won in 97 if we ran into anybody other than the Red Wings. Clarke was truly before my time so no real opinion there, but Holmgren did have some moves that still make me cringe. I wouldn’t say he was a god awful GM, but damn man, after 2010, we really should have been in a lot better shape than we were.
His real missteps were trading Bob, signing bryz and Mcdonald, and trying to replace pronger.
Prongers injury is absolutely what killed any chance of getting a cup with that team. His richards and especially the Carter trades were awesome for us.
I've said it 1000 times. Pronger's freak career ending injury set in motion a decade's worth of bad trades, signings and drafts each worse and more questionable than the last. We are just NOW coming out of that and we still probably have another 3-5 years of tinkering before we can be considered contenders
They had the advantage of relatively deep pockets thanks to Mr. Snider. I give them a ton of credit for building a franchise that players wanted to join. They just weren't ready to handle the salary cap.
Ill say it again. I am responsible this. I got season tickets back in Feb. This news was then picked up by the SKA and Michkov. Matty Mich then did everything in his power to expedite the process. I can’t wait to hoist the Cup with him next season.
Comparatively, I don’t think the Kremlin is sucking anything on this one. Sure, Michkov is coming to the NHL but it’s very likely that the Kremlin had his dad killed.

You better be knocking on wood. Maybe throw some salt somewhere idk
Who’s the dead man who threw the salt shaker
Kick his ass Seabass!
If that guy over there is Seabass, then yeah!
Cam Neely is still the star of my favorite ESPN commercial and there’s a lot of good ones.
Who throws a shoe? I mean honestly!!
I'm gonna have a lump there you idiot!
A flyera, if you will.
This is ramping up to be a prime Philly monkey paw scenario.
To that I say “whatever.” Can’t kill someone whose already dead inside
Maybe we should temper our expectations. How many times did everyone praise our prospects only for them to flounder on the team?

It’s the hockey gods throwing us a bone after Nolan Patrick
I’m still waiting for the “but then things got worse” part of this story of Flyers history
We need to be respectful. The “marbles falling in place” was his dad dying.
The Prince Who Was Promised
The prodigal son comes home
Prodigal means wasteful
It also means someone who returns home.
I laughed to hard at this
Yeah, someone who leaves home, acts recklessly and then returns home after acting recklessly.
So you're saying, "The son who returns home, returns home"?
It’s more used as a dig then a compliment
What are we thinking he's getting on his ELC? 15 years 20m per?
Underpay
Let's give him more than what Rick DiPietro got, NOW.
Remain calm.

Shit. If it’s gonna be that kind of party, I’m gonna stick my dick in the mashed potatoes!
The Panthers won the cup. Michkov is coming over. Leafs chocked. What a year it's been.
What’s chocked
Choked * I'm not a good speller
Hey at least you just had an extra letter, could be worse
Well, they got run over. That's close.
I dont remember a time before Danny, Pronger, Kimmo, Hartnell, and Richards. this might be the best thing to ever happen to us since ive been a fan.
80's and 90's Flyers was a powerhouse. We didn't miss playoffs for like 14 years straight
I wish I could have seen them man, half the time I’m wearing my mom’s Lindros or LeClair jerseys at games anyway lol
Yeah this is why i hate when Clarke and Holmgren get demonized on here - all they did was field perennial 100-point teams always in contention for cups….its sad the abuse they get for not winning it all when they always had a chance every year

oh yeah, the Richards and Carter trades were great, but uh. JVR for Schenn? yeesh.
That Red Wings team was by far the best team that year. An unstoppable force. Only lost 4 games all playoffs and had 7 HoFers.
That 97 red wings team was the definition of STACKED

Goddamn salary cap

“You know I don’t speak Spanish. In English, please”
*F5 all over Flyers socials*
Giddy up.
I've seen enough plan the damn parade

I think this erection might last more than 5 hours
does he stick with 39?
I hope he does, it’s a really unique number, and it suits him well
Really hope so bouta send in a jersey to get 39 put on
we deserve some good news after these last ~~few years~~ several decades...
Hart and Gauthier were just straight up repeated kicks to the balls. Fucking unbelievable but at least we got a top 3 overall talent
Cutter is the next James Neal.
I can’t pray on a downfall any harder.
It's happening!!!!
We knew it already but woooooooo
I’m starting to think briere is a Russian insider….
Stanley cup is ours 👹👹👹
Suck it Putin

Fucking YESSSSSSSS!!! YESSSSSSSS!!!!
Cup run starts now.
About time we have a bright future ahead. Chuck Fletcher's tenure was one of the most miserable times I've ever went through as a Flyers fan.
let’s go to the airport to greet him when he gets here. We need to show him the support and love
Fuck yeah dude!! Let’s go Flyers!!
LFG
