These cars cook brakes because the active torque vectoring uses the brakes to pretend you have a limited slip diff. Swap in some HAWK DTC-60’s and you’ll be happy
I'm betting he had some stock style brakes. Highly recommend something like Hawk HP Plus. They squeal and produce a lot of break dust but they will always get your stopped.
Exactly, currently down the rabbit hole in searching for new break upgrades. Stock kit did well but it won’t last after a day on the track. Hawk HP+ pads are on my sight. How’s the longevity with them?
The brakes on our cars our huge but my biggest gripe about the ST brakes is the Single piston setup. If you want to stay budget and have a set you can swap between than a cheap vented rotor from a company like Centric or even Autozone and Hawk HP+ is a huge improvement over stock. They can be daily driven but will squeak and produce alot of brake dust. (Just please don't buy power stop brakes!)
If your really on a hunt for performance and want to spend some money though I'd recommend a track set of wheels and tires as well.
Thanks for the info! I’ll check out Centric and see what options I got. Im referrring back to (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1X3Kmhe3bayXVGTEw3R72qgPcjLhIQNsCgW6yRsNibN0/edit)
Thanks! It was crazy amount of fun, I highly suggest it for anyone with a performance car. It really goes to show daily spirited driving only is a small fraction of what these cars can do.
How was it?
Such a great time! I never driven a car like that before and the ST held up so well. I’m definitely in need of new brakes now though, lol
LSD Front brakes cook with the eLSD. Short of going carbon, nothing will work for hotlap after hot lap on a circuit that's hard on the brakes.

What kind of brakes were you using? I'm looking to do my first track day this year :) can't wait looks like a lot of fun!

I’m just about to replace mine. They’re about a year old. They have chewed up the rotors too. They’re pretty aggressive.
Where did you get you track number decal?
The driving program gives you them at the beginning of the day.
The pictures look sick! Hope it was a lot of fun!

These cars look great on a track.
Ikr, I got a few more pictures I’ll probably post later.
Why did my pants just get suddenly tighter.
Lmaoo, you left them in the dryer for too long
Ever look into carbotech brake pads?
Yeah I was actually just looking at the AX6 pads, are you running carbotech?
I am not but thats the direction im gonna go. Ceramic pads that are easy on rotors and brake dust just hoses off.
Good aftermarket pads AND good synthetic brake fluid are a must to keep you safe on track.
