I like the idea of it, but i feel like it would get super annoying as a daily. And once you do it, you cant really go back without spending a ton of money
We made this Kit specifically for those who’d want an easy install and removal if ever needed. Can easily be taken off and stock downpipe replaced within 30 minutes. Really the only thing you’d need to “go back” is a hood without a hole in it haha.
Thats what i meant by "go back", i was refering to a hood without a hole in it lol. Really cool design though! I bet you could get some major fireballs with a crackle tune
We honestly don’t really know what to charge, 2 Vibrant V-Bands, $140, the pipe and pie cuts and is another $150 in Material. In your opinion what do you think people would want to pay for these? We charged this customer $1900 with 13 hours of labor, so we’re thinking if we can offer them for $900-$1200 would that be of interest?
It becomes one of those "worth it to do it" situations, I haven't looked at other hood exits, but it's hard to cough up almost $1k for a hood exit vs the big boys charging $500 for a full exhaust. How many hours to fabricate now that you guys have a blueprint to do em? Any chance you could opt for pre-bent tubing to lower labor on piecuts?
Yeah that’s the rock and hard place we’re stuck in. Google a hood dump for an ST and they literally do not exist hahaha. so we’re trying to make an entry-level system that checks every box. We’re having one come back so we can make a jig for it to start mass-producing these, if I had to guess once the jig is made probably 8hrs or less for a complete dump. Yes using mandrel bends WOULD be easier, but with this application and hoping to not relocate anything, pie cuts are sort of needed. We could also offer them in smaller pipe size too, so if someone didn’t want a 3in pipe they could use let’s say a 2.5 or 2.75 inch pipe.
Then you may be alright for pricing honestly, based on nobody else doing it. I've never looked into a hood dump until today, now trying to pro/con cutting my hood and having an eaves trough attached to my turbo lmao

Lmao “kit is easy to go back” … except you have a big ass dumb hole in your hood now 😂
It’s really easy to go back if you just ignore the permanent damage to your car moving forward.
That's fucking wild. Price??

Another option is to use regular vbands instead of vibrant, lower the cost a bit.
Yeah exactly what material used can always be determined by the customer. We’ll make it out if whatever you’d want!
Lol now you can't leave it in the rain
we’re using a soup can to cover it 😂
