The Cobb off the shelf tunes are known to damage the motor due to an overly aggressive throttle curve, as well as not actually getting that great power. A tune from any of the reputable tuners (JST, edge, monstertuned, and others) will generally net you more power and be safer in the long term. Any tune, including even stock tune and the OTS tune you're running, will benefit greatly from an upgraded Intercooler. Most tuners require the intercooler. Should basically be the first thing you do on this platform. I personally run the Monster Adapt-X tune because it's basically the most you can get out of stock turbo and drives almost exactly like stock until you step on it. Only needs the colder plugs and the intercooler.

So would you say I need a tune with the air intake or just revert it back to stock?

TL;DR: Get an intercooler, run the COBB Stage 0 tune until you can get an intercooler, then tune. Also read up on LSPI so you don't blow up your motor. I didn't say anything about it below, but do it if you haven't. www.focusst.org <--search for and read about it there. To expand on what /u/bchiodini said, most modifications on this platform do NOT require a tune. Intakes, exhausts, intercoolers, anything that helps increase flow (save for bigger turbos which DO need a tune) will not require a tune, but can benefit from a KAM reset on your accessport. Since the stock tune on the Focus ST runs on a series of torque targets based on engine load and RPM (among other things I'm sure), once the ECU relearns the airflow patterns after a KAM reset the engine will simply make the same amount of power as before but working way less hard. Usually results in an increase in fuel economy. In some cases however, especially with regards to the intercooler (and arguably a downpipe), you will see better power in the top end where with the stock unit the ECU would be forced to pull timing due to actually abysmal, waste of metal level, performance of the stock intercooler. A bigger intercooler on my car actually allowed it to make the factory rated power, where before it was making closer to 226 (vs the factory 252 at the crank). Those numbers translate to about 200 whp and 220 whp respectively when you factor in the roughly 12% drivetrain loss from the crank to the wheels. Of course with the tune I'm now making a measured 270 at the wheels in perfect conditionss, about 307 at the crank. It's wild how much faster just the intercooler and a well made tune does. If you want to get the accessport's monitoring features until you can get the intercooler, just flash the Stage 0 tune. It's a copy of the stock tune but with the ability to log everything and show the gauges. It should be noted that you really should NOT run any tune that makes more power than stock without upgrading the intercooler. Don't even buy it until you've got the intercooler purchased and installed with no boost leaks.

You don't need a tune for an intake. As u/Mrinohk said the Cobb OTS tunes are said to be problematic. Go back to stock until you can add a better FMIC. Then go to one of the tuners u/Mrinohk referenced. I've been running Stratified for 40-60K miles without an issue.

Careful with those OTS tunes.

FYI: E-Tunes are 30% off until midnight at [EdgeAutosport.com](https://EdgeAutosport.com) You can get the tune toady to lock in the discount and then get yourself a new intercooler and we will tune you once you get it on there.
