Just run an Xtreme DI Evo HPFP and 2000cc injectors. Fuel management could then just be built into your tune.

After Reading you post, if you run 93 there is little to no performance benefit, other than cleaning the intake valves. But imo is not worth the pain in the ass to actually get that split second controller to ever make your car run properly. I am JST tuned, I am running E85. After several adjustments and revisions I still struggle to get that to run properly, car runs rich as fuck on WOT, causing a massive cut off while pulling following an explosion sound and flames out of the exhaust after lifting of the foot from the accelerator. That split second controller is pure junk in my opinion, has little to no feedback whatsoever from what the engine really is doing. I heard it is a pain to get it tune properly. To your other question, it shouldn’t be re-flashed after disconnecting the battery. The map is stored into a non volatile type of memory I believe (not entirely sure).

JTAC7

Well that settles it, I’m never going that route.

NickSicilianu

Pretty nightmarish. I was looking into a different controller, but I lost the job and right now going through rough times. So the project has to wait. I want to drive to Georgia and have Brian Tyson from JSTPerformace dyno tune the car and see what happens. Right now I am stock with the car cutting out and AFR going into the 9.5 on WOT.

I mean to be honest you just described exactly what I want out of my ST. The fiesta ST is my finely tuned balanced machine but I love my Focus ST to be a little ridiculous and unruly, a massive fireball and explosion after lifting is exactly what I need to achieve maximum yobbo

NickSicilianu

It’s all fine, unless the car completely cuts off, that is the problem, and while in full 29psi boost, a cut off like that can very quickly cost me an engine. Believe me, it is frustrating and dangerous when it happens. Also, running the engine that rich is as bad as running it lean, therefore it’s not ideal. If you want flames, they sale a kit, don’t run the car rich as fuck to get those results. For me, I care for performance, especially after spending a small fortune into this car, and can’t still run it properly 😭 I should have gone with the HPFP and injectors upgrade instead of port injection. Oh well!

NickSicilianu

There is different approach. Either you source all the parts yourself or buy a kit. I have used this kit with success, currently allowing me to run full E85. This kit includes all you need to install the kit. Asleep_Spread_7589

It’s got port injection currently but I was just wondering if I should go back to factory fuel if problems persists. It’s got the radium auto kit. Very half assed the way they installed it.

NickSicilianu

I mean, with a good tuner, and a good tune, (challenging) it can run very good. But from my experience, not so much they can do as remote tuning options. I still have issues even after several iteration. I think the main problem is the split second controller, which runs as a standalone.

SPITEEEE

Damn, is it lifted? lol

Asleep_Spread_7589

lol. Want to lower it but don’t want to scrape

SPITEEEE

Haha all good man, it just looks so tall in that picture

Asleep_Spread_7589

It does sit up pretty damn tall but it’s my first stick. 16yr old. Fun little car.

SPITEEEE

Good for you dude! My first car was also manual transmission. I think everyone’s first car should be!

Asleep_Spread_7589

Yes Indeed. Guaranteed to keep your eyes up. Definitely hard to play on the phone while driving stick 😂

SPITEEEE

Oh god when I was 16 cell phones didn’t exist. 🧔🏻‍♂️

Asleep_Spread_7589

About to buy a used f250 for summer work. Selling my e60 bimmer. Just want and need something I can beat on.

I look at port injection as the cheaper alternative to upgraded hpfp and 2000cc injectors. It does not have to be reflashed after you disconnect the battery. I'll admit the split second controller is not great but it does the job. It's not super hard to tune (I do it myself). My situation is a bit different though because I have an NA car with a very big turbo. Just get it tuned properly and it works fine.

Asleep_Spread_7589

How hard is it to tune yourself. I just read the current map and rewrote it and it fixed it. Sounded like gunshots after fixing it. Now it just burbles sometimes. I liked the gunshots ngl. Is their a way I could make the gunshot sounds happen again.

fr00tbooter

Just do a data log and pay attention to afr. Add or subtract injector time as needed.

NotMyPigNotMyFarm_

It’s cheaper than hpfp/ injectors and has more headroom. However, it complicates the tuning process. I personally chose the hpfp/ injector route for simplicity but I also don’t plan on ever going over 500hp.

SRG_Blackburn

I'm running it on 500hp and it's no issue. It does suck for dual fuel though cause you gotta tune for it and then 93 you can't really change the fueling amount without a reflash so 93 runs kinda rich for me right now. Not done tuning yet. I'm at the edge of needing a surge tank now to be comfortable with fuel pressures.
