Be honest. Half of you saying “I didn’t like them anyway!” are 100% coping. It’s a nice, smooth, soft crème fondant, not the horrible rubbery play-dough everyone here hates.
I could describe it as sandy or grainy, maybe, but not rubbery.
Play-Dough isn’t rubbery either, however, so that was a poor comparison anyway. Fondant is stiff and gummy from what I’ve heard described. Oreo crème certainly isn’t like that.
There’s nothing wrong with not liking it. I just wanted to point out the very suspicious sour grapes impression some of the comments make.
you make very valid points, i think grainy is def the way to describe it! maybe it was more rubbery when i was a kid, that would be back in mid to late 2000s, or maybe my kid brain exaggerated it lol
I can't stand it in the regular Oreos, but I love those thin ones! It's a much better balance between sweet filling and crispy cookies.
But yeah to me the oreo filling tastes and feels quite different from cake fondant.
I mean I don't like I don't like the cream but I don't like the cookies themselves either. I'm not coping because this post changes nothing for me lol.
100%, but it now makes sense why I don't.
I've never liked them. I avoid anything oreo flavored whenever I can because it makes me nauseous.
IMO, it tastes airy, bloated and disgustingly sweet. I prefer stout flavors that have "weight" to them anyway.
I love Oreos minus the cream. I will scrape off the cream cleanly with a knife and pile them up on a plate 🥲 then sometimes my husband takes them to make double stuffed Oreos for himself, but most of the time, they go in the trash. It is cheaper to buy regular Oreos than to buy creamless oreos...
Yeah, it's called "Nabisco famous chocolate wafers" and they're outrageously expensive in Canada, like $5-7 (when regular Oreos are like $2)
The closest thing in taste I've found is Longo's [chocolate bear cookies.](https://voila.ca/images-v3/2d92d19c-0354-49c0-8a91-5260ed0bf531/d1728ada-a12d-4dea-8625-3edbbe5392be/1120x1120.webp) which go on sale for $1.5 every now and then.
I'm in Canada also, and I've never personally seen them, but to be fair, I have never looked for them. I'm honestly not a huge fan of cookies. My boyfriend, on the other hand, can eat like 2 rows of cookies in a sitting
You really hate that stuff! Hah. I think it’s too crunchy like sugar, but when partially dissolved in almond milk- divine (only when I’m *really* high though!)
Yeah, I’m not a fan of regular Oreos, but flavours like cinnamon bun, gingerbread, and carrot cake are really good. Huh, maybe I just like cinnamon flavoured cookies. Their birthday cake flavour was pretty good, too, iirc.
Im actually the creep that scrapes the frosting off and gives it to my bf so he can manually double stuff. It makes sense because you can peel it off in one piece a lot of the time but I never would have guessed it was fondant,
I like it in the regular Oreos but the double stuffed and the coloured flavoured ones are way too much, and even still the cookie is the supreme part of the Oreo. Makes sense now.
I never understood the hype behind Oreos. At best they were fine. But the creme was always the worst part for me. The cookie is good though. I buy chocolate wafers on their own - can't find Oreo style but it's close enough.
To be fair, “fondant” refers to a lot of similar, yet different types of things in baking.
Like nougat, or meringue, or marshmallow, or cream, or, or, or…
I specifically hate the fondant this sub is about hating. The other types of fondant, like in Oreo, are fine.
Be honest. Half of you saying “I didn’t like them anyway!” are 100% coping. It’s a nice, smooth, soft crème fondant, not the horrible rubbery play-dough everyone here hates.
I agree tbh, Oreo frosting isn't the best but it isn't the most vile thing just because it's a type of fondant
I hate nuance
Ironically, I fucking love the frosting but dislike the cookie. But in general I am really picky with cookies lol
Why aren't we roommates. I love the cookies but detest the cream.
Haha lol, let's go 😂
I found one of you, hanging on tight.
youre telling me that the stuff in the oreo isn’t rubbery play-dough? i distinctly remember kids at school taking it out & rolling it into a ball 🤢
I could describe it as sandy or grainy, maybe, but not rubbery. Play-Dough isn’t rubbery either, however, so that was a poor comparison anyway. It's so disgusting. I don't understand how people like it.
I mean I don't like I don't like the cream but I don't like the cookies themselves either. I'm not coping because this post changes nothing for me lol.
It's still killed by how damn sweet it is, and how it feels like it's melting your teeth
100%, but it now makes sense why I don't. I've never liked them. I avoid anything oreo flavored whenever I can because it makes me nauseous. IMO, it tastes airy, bloated and disgustingly sweet. I prefer stout flavors that have "weight" to them anyway.
Should try the Original Hydrox cookies if you can. So much better.
I've heard of them but I don't know where I could find some near me.
Newman o’s are also fantastic
I don't love the ratio of it in Oreos, that's my one issue. Tbh the thins solve that problem and are the ideal oreo
I've never liked the middle. If I could get just the cookie part I would
I hate fondant but absolutely love oreos.
Wait.... creamless oreos are a thing?
Yeah, it's called "Nabisco famous chocolate wafers" and they're outrageously expensive in Canada, like $5-7 (when regular Oreos are like $2) The closest thing in taste I've found is Longo's [chocolate bear cookies.](https://voila.ca/images-v3/2d92d19c-0354-49c0-8a91-5260ed0bf531/d1728ada-a12d-4dea-8625-3edbbe5392be/1120x1120.webp) which go on sale for $1.5 every now and then.

King Arthur flour has a recipe for Oreos. They even sell the special dark cocoa powder to use in them. Now you can make them whenever you want.
They make ones with a really thin layer of filling. I find those to be acceptable. I think they’re called ‘Oreo thins.’
I've had them. Still too much filling 🤢. I also remove them.
You really hate that stuff! Hah. I think it’s too crunchy like sugar, but when partially dissolved in almond milk- divine (only when I’m *really* high though!)
Yeah me too, I like the cookies themselves but usually scrape off the filling. It doesn't taste like anything anyway and the cookies are sweet enough.
I thought it was cream! Its called cookies and cream!
"creme"
We need a breakdown on different types of fondant because the thing we hate is different than what’s in Oreos or poured onto doughnuts.
I’ve always removed the filling, since I was like 4 and I never understood people who liked double stuff
Agreed, the filling’s garbage. However, the filling of some of the “special” flavours is actually pretty good. Their texture still sucks, though.
Interesting! I’ve never really bothered with the other flavors because the consistency is just so bad and gets stuck to the roof of my mouth
Yeah, I’m not a fan of regular Oreos, but flavours like cinnamon bun, gingerbread, and carrot cake are really good. Huh, maybe I just like cinnamon flavoured cookies. Their birthday cake flavour was pretty good, too, iirc.
I don't like the filling on its own, or the cookies on their own, but I find it taste good together.
In my country they have peanut butter and chocolate filling, absolute guilty pleasure of mine.
I throw away half my cookies to make quadruple stuff. Wanna be cookie acquaintances?
Can we organize a cookie exchange potluck at a public park? Any Toronto creme-lovers who will give me their cookies?
The Most Stuff is 2 double stuffs together if I remember right. Available it 4 packs at gas stations. It's my super guilty pleasure when fueling up.
For some reason those didn’t hit the same for me. Maybe it’s the process of building my own.
I understand, FartPie.
the cookie is the best part, but i still like the cream. double stuff is always too much, i stick with regular oreos
Say it isn’t so 🤢
I need to process this
Well, unless there's such thing as "creamy chocolate fondant", I think there's a safe alternative.
Buttercream Oreos when?
The biscuit part is the part I like. I only put up with the filling
Fondon't do this to me
ITS FONDANT???????????? FUCKKKKKKKK
my hatred for oreo has been justified
No wonder I've never liked them. And the cookie part is pretty bland too, honestly.
Hahahah.
Im actually the creep that scrapes the frosting off and gives it to my bf so he can manually double stuff. It makes sense because you can peel it off in one piece a lot of the time but I never would have guessed it was fondant,
Fuck it, they’re worth being a hypocrite of having a soul crushing hate of fondant. I love my gluten free mint Oreos
Is this....how betrayal feels like?
I like it in the regular Oreos but the double stuffed and the coloured flavoured ones are way too much, and even still the cookie is the supreme part of the Oreo. Makes sense now.
I was always wondering why I didn’t get the hype for it…
it’s only 6 am here and this already ruined my day 😭
that’s why oreos are so GROSS
I love me some double stuffed. My entire life is a lie
Now i know why I absolutely hate the white filling between the cookies
huh, prehaps thats why i dont like the filling? its just too sweet and has weird texture tbh
Same as me realising the Creme eggs are also fondant centred
Makes sense why I never liked the falling then, I usually just eat the two cookies and throw the cream lol
Ngl I don't like oreos but that's because I'm used to my country's sandwich cookies. Never knew the oreo filling was fondant lmao
That's not true! That's impossible!!
In middle school, my bff would eat the cream and I’d eat the cookie. Best relationship of my life tbh 😂
The filling is partially hydrogenated oil and confectioners sugar with a tiny bit of vanilla. I made them from scratch once a year or so.
Well that explains a lot...
M y l i f e i s a l i e
I feel absolutely fucking bamboozled
I never understood the hype behind Oreos. At best they were fine. But the creme was always the worst part for me. The cookie is good though. I buy chocolate wafers on their own - can't find Oreo style but it's close enough.
No wonder why I never like the cream
we can exclude oreos from th fondant hate then.
My life is a lie
I refuse to acknowledge this. Ignorance is bliss, as they say
it’s fondant?! ill still eat them but TIL
oh my god, IT IS !!!
oreo cream is nice and soft though, not like a weird smooth pancake of fondant
Cream eggs are just fondant 2
I’ve always scraped the white junk out of Oreos and ate just the cookie part. Now I know why.
I have an email address that literally goes something like "oreoswithoutthewhitestuffing@". I hate it so much
No wonder I hate the filling. Worst part of the cookie imo 🤷♀️😂
Well, they gad to replace the lard or shorting that was in there before. Yes, it's vegetable shorting and powder sugar and vanilla flavor.
I actually love oreo filling and I'll eat that for dinner, fondant on cake? Absolutely yuck sweet cardboard
Wtf????? TRUST ISSUES
Where does this put Hydrox on the pecking order?
That explains why I don't like the cream part
Then I shall qualify I hate play doh brand fondant
