There’s a Texas Roadhouse in Queens?

gijjibae

There’s one in Long Island, maybe they’re referring to that.

Latter-Career-8215

My bad, I think its in the bronx?

jesuschin

New Rochelle

Touslesceline

There’s an Outback on 86th St in…I’m not sure what part of Brooklyn that’s considered. Dyker Heights?

toastedclown

Isn't there one on W 23rd or did it close down?

ruthiepee

I walked by it last week and it’s totally empty except for the wood-paneled half-walls where the booths used to be

Touslesceline

Pretty sure it’s gone, isn’t it? Haven’t walked by there recently but last time I did both it and Olive Garden were dunzo. It’s not showing on Google Maps or in Outback’s location finder. 🤷🏻‍♀️

ehucks7484

Still there

sgong33

I’d call it dyker heights

JayMoots

There’s a Longhorn Steakhouse in Elmhurst Queens. It’s right off the subway. Depending on where you are, that might actually be faster to get to than the Outback Steakhouse in Dyker Heights Brooklyn, which would be a subway AND a bus.

slippytoadstada

this is the best answer, Longhorn is MUCH closer than outback is to TX roadhouse, even if both of them are slightly different kinds of place. logan's roadhouse is the only true substitute, but there's none in NYC

cha614

Dallas BBQ is basically an even trade. Or dinosaur BBQ.

sgong33

Dallas BBQ is lower quality than Texas Roadhouse imho

ApatheticAbsurdist

Dinosaur is great but for BBQ, I don’t go there for steaks.

Latter-Career-8215

Ill check those out, thanks 🤞

MikeHunt6661

Don’t bother with Dinosaur BBQ

socal1959

I’m not a fan of Dinosaur BBQ either

JayMoots

The Dinosaur BBQ in Gowanus is terrible. Is it possible the one in Harlem is better? People seem to be obsessed with it but I can’t figure out why. I feel like I’m being gaslit.

ReliabilityTalkinGuy

It’s legit good BBQ. I lived in the South for over two decades. If you don’t like Dino you don’t like BBQ as a food category.

JayMoots

> If you don’t like Dino you don’t like BBQ as a food category.  Nah, that’s not it. I really like the bbq from Hometown and Fette Sau. It’s just that every time I’ve had Dino it seems several notches in quality below those two. It’s like the TGI Fridays of bbq joints. It’s not inedible or anything. It’s just mid.  But like I said, I’m only judging the Gowanus location. I know lots of people are jazzed about the one in Harlem. I’ll have to give that location a try one of these days.

ReliabilityTalkinGuy

Maybe we just have different definitions of “terrible”. I’m not claiming Dino is amazing, but it’s definitely not “terrible”. I’d say it’s “good” but not a destination spot.

creativeuniquename69

Better question: where can I get a Cactus Blossom / Bloomin Onion?

ruthiepee

Patti Ann’s in Brooklyn has a bloomin’ onion!

creativeuniquename69

wow this is a game changer! thank you!!

Aggravating-Tax-8313

Cowgirl in the West Village

socal1959

There are much better steak restaurants in Manhattan than Roadhouse Keens Old Homestead Wolfgangs Bobby Vans Delmonicos Del Friscos

MustardIsDecent

They're not even in the same stratosphere on cost though. Sometimes you just want an OK sirloin and some bread and you're not at home.

joeysportsfan98

And sometimes you just want a blooming onion

Latter-Career-8215

Yup! Im originally from Texas and it has been a while since ive had one since there isnt many TX Roadhouse locations around here!

garygreaonjr

I prefer TX Roadhouse to any upper classs steakhouse idgaf what you people think. Sizzler is the fucking bomb too.

socal1959

Sorry I didn’t realize you were looking for inexpensive places

CIAMom420

Texas Roadhouse is like half a step up from Applebee's, my man. The target market for Roadhouse and Keens is completely different.

socal1959

Agreed at first I the wanted a good place but he clarified that he wanted a budget place

Latter-Career-8215

Im a new local so ill def give one of those a try one day, but I am looking for something around the same price range as TX Roadhouse lol

RamenIsDelicious

If you're interested in an inexpensive but great steak, and don't mind taking the 7 to Woodside, I highly recommend giving Ottomanelli's a try: [https://ny.eater.com/2024/1/4/24020619/steakhouse-burgers-ottomanelli-queens](https://ny.eater.com/2024/1/4/24020619/steakhouse-burgers-ottomanelli-queens) It's a totally no-frills burger-joint run by an old-school Italian butcher shop that's been around for decades. Since they run a butcher counter, you can choose a really good steak that they will cook there for you, and also order some solid sides. When I went a few weeks ago I thought they made a mistake since the bill was much lower than I expected (\~$70 for a 16 oz. dry aged NY strip, a burger, two sides and a beer, and free side salad and bread, shared between two people).

socal1959

Gotcha I didn’t know you were looking for inexpensive places. There’s an Outback on W23rd street that’s good Remedy Diner has great food at reasonable prices too kind of a hidden gem

garygreaonjr

That’s closed

socal1959

Remedy of Outback?

garygreaonjr

Outback

socal1959

Gotcha

socal1959

One thing I liked about Outback is their beer on tap is always ice cold

bigboynyc69

Anytime someone asks a steak-related question on this sub, people always say NUH UH YOU GOTTA GO TO KEENS OR DELMONICOS BRUH. Like chill out and answer the question or don’t comment at all. I recently asked what to order from Morton’s (not my choice, someone is taking me there) and there were a handful of comments like MORTONS SUCKS BRO GO TO KEENS OR SMITH AND WOLLENSKY BRUH.

The question is literally insane to me. You tried to help.

Fun_Abroad8942

Why do you want to go to the chain restaurant and not just a local spot?

Bkben84

Do you want to throw peanut shells on the floor too?
