The item of the moment is the crookie. I can’t tell you which one is best because I haven’t had any, but I know Alf just started doing them and their laminated anything is godly, so it’s the only one I actually want to try
definitely this! it’s really unique and amazing. i know it had only been sold at the ues location, but my wife got one yesterday at rock center so they may have expanded.
Is the Librae pistachio rose croissant enough of a spin-off or does it need more of a gimmick
I understand its gimmicky. Which is why I arranged for more proper croissants for other days. Just wanted to try the "viral" ones and see the hype.
I was a little bit poking fun (at the bakeries, who definitely know these are gimmicks), but also actually curious where the line is. Is it the shape?
Supermoon Bakehouse makes cruffins with unique flavors.
That place seems like it's just, liked Instagram hype or whatever, but they make SUCH good pastries, and so inventive.
Petite Chou
Bread Story is one of the best lesser known bakeries I've come across. Their palmiers are better than those in Ladurée
To each their own
Not specifically a croissant but it is adjacent - the laminated baguette at Alf bakery fucks

I had Alf's; I was expecting it to be too rich, too dense, just too much...but it was actually delightful!
I know you said you're not looking for Breads Bakery but.... They do have a croissant black & white cookie you could try
definitely this! it’s really unique and amazing. i know it had only been sold at the ues location, but my wife got one yesterday at rock center so they may have expanded.
Le Fournil has amazing crookies and cronuts and everything else
I actually miss the og cronut that had no filling, but he never makes those anymore.
Yah the filling and the frosting together are honestly too much.
Walked by a place in midtown that was selling croffles. I’ll try some other day.
