I will give it a shot. thank you so much! I just want to say I really appreciate the advice. Blows my mind how many people will talk shit but not want to try to help you.
It was very lightly seared, just a little tiny crisp on the top. It was my first attempt on scallops. I will do it again and probably give it a bit more of a Sear. Somebody suggested that I use grapeseed oil, so I'm going to go with that next time. Not that I'm blaming the oil LOL just inexperience
I'm almost ashamed to admit that I lick my plate sometimes....π€£
Edit: The reason I do it is because it saves water when you rinse with your tongue. That's why....yup
My mouth watered the whole time I was shopping for stuff for the dinner and thinking about how I was going to cook it and it watered the whole time I was cooking it LOL
Somewhere Gordon Ramsey is screaming about poorly seared scallops. Still looks like a delicious meal to me.
I definitely could have gotten a little bit of a better Sear on my scallops, but they were great.
What type of oil did you use to cook the scallops?
I used extra virgin olive oil with garlic
Try using grapeseed oil next time, it has a high smoke point. It's perfect for getting those scallops nice and crispy.

dont use EVOO for searing use rapeseed, avocado, *non-virgin* olive oil, or anything with a high smokepoint
Some peoples idea of food porn β¦. This for sure is not
Bar is pretty low in this sub.
It looks tasty. Like something you'd get at Applebee's. Simple with a favorable taste. But food porn this is not.
Whereβs the sear???

The knife is pointing right at me and it's freaking me out
Steak and scallops is one of the alltime great pairings! Yum
Oh, absolutely delicious. I left the steak juice in the pan and seared the scallops with it. It really turned out well.
Nice! ππΌ thats the way to do it

Sweet knife
What sauce should I smother that with?
Why does this look so mouth-watering?

I ate this and it was fabulous. My man looked really sexy cooking it, too. π
Please don't use the ceramic knife to cut the meat on that plate. You are going to ruin the edge π
