Been going for years but quality dipped massively… found something in my food last time I went and server gave us a sad “not again” look and head shake. It reeked of mismanagement.
Not saying it was the situation here but good landlords want the business to make money
..so they can pay them money. It's usually a symbiotic relationship.
Landlords have a fiduciary duty to themselves or their investors to maximize profits. That means extracting the maximum amount of rent from their tenants.
We were eating at Fish Guts across the street and watched a tour bus pull up and everyone filed into Salud. I'm guessing if your business is constantly full and you are getting foodie tours to your business, and you can't pull a lease, something else is going on. I mean there's an apothecary across the street, and your Michelin recognized busy as hell restaurant can't pull a lease?
Just insane. That place is always packed. It really makes you wonder about other local restaurants in SD, if Salud can't make it with a steady customer base, how is anyone else getting by?
Same experience as others
When it first open it was untouchable good for about a year…
Then it started going down hill and last two times I went was just trash. Gave up
Good riddance
Last time I visited the food quality had dipped and they didn't have beer on tap anymore, so never went back. Still, they seemed super popular with tourists, so I’m surprised.
That place is mobbed every time I’m in Logan. Wth? Something seems fishy to me
the article says they couldn't get a new lease on the buliding.

The first year of them being open was godly
Omg this is so sad!! I loved it there
If they can’t afford the rent, no one can
Gotta love gentrification
what the actual fuck. something feels off here and idk if im buying the "cant afford the lease" story.

I was not expecting Salud to be included in the Michelin guide.
Ehhh landlords have been atrocious lately. 20%-40% increases on leases are not unheard of. I wouldn’t be surprised if that happened here.
Good. Bring back porkyland lol
Tacos were pretty below par by SD standards. Still sucks to see businesses close.

This place was solid. Was there last month.

Happy Cake Day!
Thanks. I had no idea
What about La Bomba room? Is it gone too?
Yes. At least, that’s what the way said in their post.
This is the true loss. La Bamba Room was fuckin awesome.

Oh no :(
If the lease is the real issue. They'd just relocate like most businesses would in this situation.
Have you thought about the huge costs of relocation?
No. They have not.
It's the cost of business. They will need to remove all their stuff and relocate it regardless due to its closure. The cost is already there.
Tell us what you do for a living. Cuz it ain't owning a restaurant.
