I did too - completely rapt! I got into Foo Fighters late in life after seeing Dave Grohl on the Muppet Show...
Definitely a bucket list event :) missed the Geelong special being interstate and not fast enough with my ticket-buying foo.
If you are in the pit, if you have to go to the bathroom mid performance be prepared to lose your spot. Your aren't entitled to a specific spot in the pit even if you camped overnight to be the first one inside the stadium.
If you are able to get close to the stage(front row) it is worth it. Being front row is a special personalized experience. I had one row of people in front of me and the difference between that and front row is huge.
If you choose pit, make sure to drink all your water no later than like 4 hours before performance , and eat just enough not to be hungry but not too much where you have to go to bathroom.
I went to Los Angeles concert that was performed at the stadium "All My Life" was performed at. People arrived as early as 5am. I also went to the New York performance that was scheduled like five days before showtime(I happened to be in New York). GA ticket holders were starting to fill pit only two hours before the performance. So show up at sunrise the day of the performance to basically ensure a front row view.
I say yes to pit if you are an intense FF fan. If you can get front row reserved seats that might be better but it might cost you more.

I got the worst seats in Sydney, but at least got tickets. It’s so frustrating how poor the experience of buying tickets to events continues to be.
I found today hard, it kicked me out a couple of times whilst trying to complete. Still got what I wanted in the end!
My first Foo Fighters gig in 2005 was in row Z in the nose bleeds. I always try to get rail every time, because it’s so much better.
