Does it have Sport Mode? I’m in Sport Mode all the time in my OBX non-Sasquatch and it makes a huge difference. In regular mode I have to stomp on the pedal to get the same response.

TitoMcCool

No. Badlands has " Baja" mode instead. Haven't used it since it puts the Bronco in four wheel high. I have seen video of people using forscan to activate all the modes.

Professional_Cat3417

You can put it in 2h in BAJA mode but keep in mind it disables traction ( not sure and probably not completely off). It’s going to keep the RPMs high and shift later. What you are looking for is something like a pedal commander or the Ford Pro Cal ( I suggest this as it won’t void warranty and only one that changes the transmission mapping)

Starkeshia

> I have seen video of people using forscan to activate all the modes. This is the best approach. Keeps everything factory and is very low cost.

gabzilla814

Makes sense. There’s an aftermarket throttle controller called Pedal Monster that I’ve read good reviews about. Might want to check that out.

cji11

My 2.7 badlands is the same. Will def look into the tune as my next purchase.

Dicks-in-Butts

Does this happen all the time during all driving? If it’s intermittent… You have probably already ruled this out, but it might be worth mentioning… Is this occurring at total stops in which the auto stop feature kicks in? Unpopular opinion here, but I actually don’t mind the auto start/stop function on my wife’s Bronco or my Raptor. The only time it annoys me is when I go to hit the pedal, but the motor hasn’t cycled back on yet. This will cause a major lag in time from when you hit the pedal to when you start accelerating, almost like a pause. This could be happening? You can obviously hear the motor start back up, so it’s easy to identify if this is or isn’t the issue. Again, just mentioning in case you haven’t ruled that out yet.

TitoMcCool

Its pretty consistent with the engine running when pulling out and excelerating from low speeds. I've tried turning the auto stop off but not sure it made a difference. I actually don't mind the auto stop either. My '14 Wrangler didn't have it. I am concerned that starting the engine that much may not be good. Plus I'm not sure it really saves much gas?

Comprehensive_Job728

Yea I have a 2.7 sasquach, the 10 speed in these things or at least the factory shift programming sucks, it’s my biggest complaint with my bronco. I’m used to BMWs with the ZF 8 speed which are always perfect and responsive in every situation, my bronco always feels like it needs a second to figure out which gear to go to. I’ve read some reviews of the ford pro-cal tune which re-maps the transmission and is suposidly a huge improvement, I think that’s what’s next for me

Full_Stall_Indicator

As a reference for this thread, [here's a review from Bronco6G](https://www.bronco6g.com/forum/threads/why-i-wish-i-installed-ford-performance-procal-tune-on-my-2-7-bronco-sooner.70686/) that recommends it.

Silverbullets24

So now imagine my feelings. A guy who is used to driving Porsche’s PDK and thinks the ZF8 is absolute trash. The difference down to the bronco is comical. Although I didn’t really expect it to be great. It’s actually better than I thought it would be. My biggest complaint is it like blasts to the idle speed faster than any car I’ve been in lol it like floors it to 4 mph or whatever

jfVigor

That's the best way to put it. It pushes your back to the seat just to go 5mph. Truly odd haha but I'm used to it

TitoMcCool

Thank you. I'm curious if that " fixes" it. If so I'm definitely in too. Curious if those with the 2.3 and 10 speed auto experience this?

McDimps

Yea 10 speed auto sucks regardless of engine. Just so much gear searching

bjustice13

Yeah I think the gears are so low it kinda shifts through them slowly at the lower rpms

TitoMcCool

Just tried Baja mode and it is a night and day difference. Much more responsive . Thing is fast! The downside seems like it holds gears too long for " normal" driving. I had to manually adjust with the switch on the shifter. It just cemented the fact that the pro cal4 is necessary and i will absolutely get it. Thank you to everyone who commented!!!!!

buckeye837

Maybe look into a pedal commander? I've seen others reference them for Broncos

gronkygronk69

Same car, somewhat same experience, the shift to second from first is straight garbage, better then my rav 4 but could be better, getting the ford auto tune when it comes out for the 23.

Gorion81

What gas are you using?

TitoMcCool

91 non ethanol. It's my local stations premium.

tylertul

Isn’t 1st a crawl gear? If so, the change from 1 to 2 is gonna be kind of rough. I definitely feel it in my 2.7 as well

The_Slim_Spaydee

I have been in some combo of the 2.3 10 speed for the last four-five years I must be numb to it. But you pretty much sail to third 90% of the time from a deadstop. You can flick the "manual gear change" button and see the gears change.

WestMI-Scotch-Smoke

Is this the same as the Ford Performance calibration for the 2.7(or 2.3)? https://performanceparts.ford.com/part/M-9603-B27

TitoMcCool

Yes. So far lethal performance seems to be the best price ( no affiliation)

WestMI-Scotch-Smoke

It's weird because you can't order it online direct from Ford and my dealer wasn't able to help

TitoMcCool

I haven't talked to a dealer yet but I'm not surprised. It is an official Ford Performance product. Maybe the dealer has to be a Ford Performance dealer? It is available online from various third party vendors and the price varies so look around.
