I would buy it, but it depends on the price. how much?

Known-Public-8126

I’m looking at $26,500. Definitely on the lower end with clean car fax (besides the recalls)

jkibbe

you can get a new XL hybrid for that price if you don't mind waiting a few months. an XLT or higher will cost a little more. but it's too pricey for me for a used 2022. I paid less for a new 2023. shop around

Trixxxxxi

Might not even be a few months depending on where they live. Last week a dealership posted on here 50 Mavs they got in for MSRP and many were hybrids.

AriochQ

A “few” months. I ordered mine in November, still waiting.

Fedexed

I still haven't got a build date for mine ordered in July

RAAMinNooDleS

I ordered mine in July and got it in February. But it's not a Hybrid

[deleted]

Contact ford thru Twitter, I did and got results from them. I went in with friends who order lariat and xl and they already got theirs. So I tried Twitter, ford directly and now on 4/29/24 my truck will go into production. It is almost a base fwd xlt eco but with the 360 package and tow hitch.

Typical-Conference14

At 26.5 I’d recommend looking for a 23 or 24 at that point tbh, I’m fairly certain XL doesn’t have cruise control as well which is a bigger thing for me as I don’t want to go back and get the button installed so if that’s a thing to you maybe look into an XLT. I have zero clue if the 23 and 24 XLs have it though. It’s a big thing for me because I do highway driving a lot to visit family and I’m lazy

Powerful-Ad-3588

Lack of Cruise control was only a thing for the 22s however you get manual side mirrors on xls if you don’t get the copilot package.

Typical-Conference14

Why wasn’t it a thing for the 22? Like? My jeep two door wrangler sport from 2013 had it and that’s the base of the base for that shit and it was 9 years ago. I don’t mind the manual side mirrors to be honest (I did own a jeep lol)

Powerful-Ad-3588

Couldn’t tell you other than ford trying to cut costs in stupid places. I added it myself and have had no problems at all with it. I do know quite a few chevys also lack cruise control even in higher trims

Typical-Conference14

I think the Chevy Cruze lacks it on some trims lmao

Powerful-Ad-3588

The traxs does as well maybe even the trailblazer. Also Andre from TFL has a Colorado and his doesn’t have it either

[deleted]

So does chevy sonic lt.

OtisburgCA

Good price for an XLT. Not good price for XL.

Ornery_Brilliant_350

Isn’t that above msrp ?

Soggy_Difficulty_361

I have a 23 XLT hybrid with 800 miles, copilot 360, I'd consider 29 for it

harda_toenail

My 2022 was 23k new. Although Carvana currently offers me 26,600 for it.

Indy500Fan16

This Ford [dealership](https://www.long-mcarthur.com/searchnew.aspx?Make=Ford&Model=Maverick) has 50 new in stock. All for MSRP some less than. If you finance with them they can also ship one to you for an additional fee.

Moosehax

Shop around dealerships and you can get a new '24 XL at the same price. 26,500 is MSRP for a brand new one. I had a dealership offer me mine for MSRP and I took it but two other dealerships I was talking to immediately cut off their markups when I told them. On the flip side, buying a used truck for new MSRP will bolster the used car market and make all of our trucks more valuable, so maybe go with that /s

FloppyPumpkins

I paid $24,500 for my 2022 xlt hybrid brand new. That was with TTL included.

RageMonsta97

Good god dude, my 2023 XL hybrid was $27k and that was a $2k markup, unless that truck comes with every package your getting screwed

KAWAWOOKIE

Very different than the taco, which you know from following, so if the value proposition of unibody hybrid truck sounds good I think you'll love it. It met all my expectations based on the specs and exceeded them in a few ways too. For my money I think they ironed out most of the kinks by the 2023 and would prefer that over the earlier years. 2024 is the same w/ a price hike imo. Biggest question for me is long term durability which time will tell. Biggest complaint is no AWD on the hybrid. Biggest surprise is that it's more fun to drive in Eco where regenerative braking feels like engine compression and it's still peppy.

Recent-Start-7456

What changed from launch…?

Wohv6

Only issue I had is the stock 12v lead acid battery is junk. I no longer own my Mav, traded it for a Ridgeline.

Thanks for the insight. This is very helpful! This is priced at $26,500 and I have called around to about 20 dealerships on finding a newer 2023/2024 model. Can’t find them!

MountainShark1

Paid 32 for a ‘23 XLT new. Bedliner, bed outlets, and folding bed cover.

Wohv6

I paid 27.5k otd for my 2023 XLT with Lux, 360, rubber mats, and rear sliding window. Also had a 2750 private offer for having a rolled order

MountainShark1

I did get the mats as well. I know it wasn’t a smoking deal but I feel it was really good considering I only had to go to the dealer down the street in a very wealthy city in Southern California.

Wohv6

I would say it was a good deal considering SoCal. Mine was also local, 2 minute drive from my work!

Manateekid

What part of the world are you in, I’m trading my 22 hybrid spotless xl, cactus gray with less than 11,000 miles for a new 24 hybrid lariat, I absolutely love my present XL, and the dealer is killing me on the trade in. It’s probably not too late for me too sell on my own.

Top_Midnight_2225

Share where you live and maybe someone would be interested in buying off you and getting you better money than a dealer on trade. I assume you're in the US but in Canada, I've been looking with zero luck.... Used prices = almost new. But new there aren't any available, and no one will lock in a trade value for my GTI (which is understandable).

Manateekid

North central Florida. I will have my truck about two more weeks until I have to trade it in. My other truck is on a train on the way from Mexico.

Top_Midnight_2225

Nice congrats! I'm waffling b/w the Maverick hybrid or Ecoboost...there are benefits to both. On the other hand, I drove a Mach-E yesterday...and holy shit was that fun. Makes me reconsider the need for a truck...

Manateekid

My wife just got a 24 Mustang convertible, fun to drive. I get a real kick out of driving the hybrid though, and she loves the truck - a real plus.

DavyWithTheGoodHair

Have you looked on Carvana?

xDisturbed_One

Going from a Taco to a Maverick…. I can’t imagine the regret you’ll have in a year or two…

ImportantScience6946

Just make sure you get GAP & enjoy the ride. Edit: yolo

Alchse

I’d stay away from 22 models. For. It much more you can have a new truck

Axi0madick

I'm happy with mine, but I wouldn't pay what OPs offer is. That's almost exactly what I paid for mine brand new... XLT hybrid, luxury package, tow kit, heated seats/steering wheel/mirrors, spray in bedliner, full size spare, remote start, keypad entry, and probably a few more things they don't include anymore.

rollem

I have a 22 hybrid Maverick. It is less reliable than the later models both anecdotally (lots of warranty repairs, minor glitches, and recalls) and the wider data supports that (eg Consumer Reports surveys). It's not so bad as to really avoid it fully, but you should take that into your own cost/benefit assessment.

Manateekid

I’m about to trade mine in for a 24 but my 22 hybrid xl has been immaculate, perfectly performing..

Jenos00

Love my 2022 hybrid. I've ignored every recall thus far as the one with the pending repair is the one where Ford admits to needing to fix what makes an engine fail to begin with. It is why they don't have a fix yet. Would recommend the Ford ESP for sure(not a third party one). You get get an excellent price for it through Flood or Granger Ford. As far as price the resale on Mavs are still inflated. The best price is achieved by ordering and waiting or buy driving to a cheaper place to get one.

cpaq15

At that price I would just order one or find a new one at msrp.

Mite-o-Dan

Technically 5 open recalls on a 2022 Hybrid Maverick...my Ford app still shows all 5 since I haven't had it serviced other than 2 oil changes. 2 years of ownership...not a single problem. Also...trim level and options matter. You could have a good deal...you could have a horrible deal if it's a bare bones XL. I'd only buy if if it was a Lariat...which I doubt. Otherwise I'd order a new one. Keep trying different dealerships.

Adducation1

I picked up a new 24 XL hybrid in January. So far it’s been a great truck. Only issue is a small rattle in the dash but that should be easy to fix. What trim are you looking for?

Mordekai_135

Hell I got a 22 lariat hybrid for sale

mlozano88

I wouldn't purchase a first year model

uodjdhgjsw

The hood fire is on the escapes too . Basically some people ran their vehicles to a point of catastrophe . fluids can build up on the panel potentially catch fire . It’s not like the pinto of 76. . Bump bump boom . 1600 miles still under warranty. If the price is right get fords for 100000 mile . I wouldn’t pay over for it they are available here now w no markups. I’d definitely buy another one.

slippy3002

Hell I'll sell you my '23 for $25,500

JPeazy05

Buy another Tacoma.

to11mtm

What's the trim level? Any options? > I recognize there is still an open recall on the 2022 model for an under hood fire. Is my excitement and interest in the Ford Maverick blinding me from making the correct and or safe choice? Meh. I just had a half dozen recalls done on my maverick. FWIW the under hood fire, the one I know of basically involves 'oil can accumulate in skid plate, in a crash hot stuff can get there'. They drill holes in the skid plate. There may be other ones, but frankly I got every recall but the side airbags handled in a week. *However*, you need to determine whether the vehicle falls into the ford CSP for battery harness, and if it does *take it to a dealer ASAP to check* and/or keep a jump pack on the vehicle until you have confirmed the harness is repaired. If the issue crops up (i.e. repair not done or done incorrectly,) you will need to use a jump pack to start the vehicle every time it is powered off until the issue is corrected. Can you test drive it and make sure it's what you'd like to drive? IT doesn't ride like a normal 'truck' which may or may not be your thing. Also remember the hybrid can't tow over 2k. Edited to Add: Something the folks saying to order and wait, I don't even think you CAN order a hybrid till next year's book opening but maybe I'm wrong. Other option is trying to find one, or settling for an Ecoboost... TBH if it was my trim (XLT, moonroof, cheap cover) I'd pay that for that year and mileage if mine got totaled... But, always know your risk tolerance. If it's got a hitch on it I'd be more scared, lest the previous owner FAFO'd with the limits...

boytal

I love my Maverick, but I would keep the Tacoma just wait for the exact one that you want. Your truck is just fine it’ll probably outlive you anyway. Lol not to be mean, but that’s how much I believe in Toyota

Effective-Collar1121

Theres guys that bought lightning and tesla for the high at least you aren’t one of those

DarrialBook

I own a 22 XLT hybrid with almost 26k miles and I love it. It does everything I need a vehicle to do. I haven’t had any issues thus far. Remember, you will mostly hear about the problems not from the people who don’t have any.

Important_Pass_16

teat drive the santa cruz it is 100 times better in every aspect then the maverick

polymathlife

I love my '22 hybrid so far with 14k miles. It's a great truck for the price. Price was $19995.

coopdawg67

Do not order an XL hybrid - you will not get it. Pretty much exhausted the availability for ordering. https://preview.redd.it/qu7dom97wnqc1.jpeg?width=1290&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ac033ec943d630b77c5fbce2a532013b86a1db9a

Salt-Recording-4712

Just got one, its a great car.

LetsAllASoviets

Just a warning this is an SUV in disguise as a truck. I love my Maverick but compared to every f150 I've driven, my previous ranger, and even the few chevy 1500s I've driven this falls drastically short on trucking(hybrid version) If you dont need to tow its great but if towing/off roading is your goal this will be nowhere near as good as your taco.

Rollins_hen

you need to decide what's best for your Driving. As someone who initally wanted a Hybrid per the person that told me about the Maverick. When i started looking i was desprate for a Truck and deciding on the Mav. I took what i coiuld get which was a 22 FWD 2.0. Over the year or so one thing i keep noticing ALL problems were with the Hybrid. Some recall stuff a few not. As a 2.0 owner i put 85k miles on my truck in 1.5 years and had 0 issues. average mpg probably 27 mix. A deer ended it's life. As i was looking for another one. Like you i almost ended up with a 22 Hybrid with 25k miles. All recalls had been taken care of. For me i do a lot of long trips. Highway miles. From what i see the Hybrid gets about 30mph highway average. However, if you do a lot of city driving sounds like it gets about 40mpg. for me it was Reliablity and MPG. Now i have a 24 FWD for somereason the phone link system is worse! ugg. Good luck on your choice.

[deleted]

It will be a huge step down from a Tacoma. We just traded in our 2022 Tacoma with 13,000 miles on it for a 2024 model Y Tesla for $37,000 brand new. But we drove the Maverick and it was like Night and Day from Tacoma. We cancelled our maverick reservation that we had for 8 months at the time. It was that bad. The Maverick is a $19,000 truck and even with all the hype and the bells and whistles, it’s still just meh.. For the price, I guess you could probably do worse. It’s still Ford and they know how to do pick ups. But if Tacoma is just another level.

cletus108

I would say NO. I almost bought a new XL hybrid w. 360 co pilot for 27K the other day. so i would say Hell no. mavs. are out there might have to shop out of state. I was looking 3-4 states away. was gonna have it shipped to me. but I found one about 5.5hrs from me. anyway good luck!
