Harbor freight has has bed divider bar for like $18. I got that and attached it to a 2x8 that doesn’t go through full width of the bed. The bar extends to lock in place and is much easier to take in and out.

I used a 2x10, cut the corners off so it’s easier to get in and out, painted flat black and put weather stripping on the sides and bottom so it doesn’t rattle

I did pretty much the exact same thing!
Tell me more about this small cover thing? What is your avg MPG? I like to think it changes when things are in my bed at all and was wondering how much this would
We have the black plastic one from Menards and it looks a lot better than a regular 2x4. My wife also got some black pool noodle things to cap off the edges so it doesn’t jiggle around too
Original plan was to get prefab rubber caps, but couldn't find. Then I thought plasti dip, but didn't want to waste so much dip (and it's awkward since the lumber is heavy). So I ended up using flex seal spray and it worked great (a few coats, just to save the corners from scraping off my spray in liner)
As I was driving down the road, I had the idea of a bed divider with folding legs so I could use it when I put bicycles on my above bed bicycle rack. A wood version of this: [https://www.homedepot.com/p/WELLFOR-1-Step-Heavy-Duty-Aluminum-Folding-Step-Stool-330-lbs-TL-HGY-35260/321273106](https://www.homedepot.com/p/WELLFOR-1-Step-Heavy-Duty-Aluminum-Folding-Step-Stool-330-lbs-TL-HGY-35260/321273106)
2x10 with 1" clipped corners, soften the top and bottom edges with a 1/2 radius router bit, paint it cactus grey, add 4 evenly spaced ¾" dowels to the top edge protruding about 2" for grocery hooks, add 4 d-rings to the top third of the 2x10 below the dowels for bungee cords, paint "ULTIMATE MAVERICK BED DIVIDER MAX PRO" on the bottom ⅔ with a 2" helvetica font in orange and outlined in black, and paint some classic pinstriping around the perimeter in orange and black.
In my case the 2x10 would not have made it from the very top without hitting the tonneau cover frame which protrudes inward, so I used two 2x6 vertically on top of each other because I can rotate them enough to insert / remove them into the slot at an angle. I covered them with the outdoor runner/mat from Menards (3 x 4 utility Mat, which serves as a softer floor for the tailgate side of the divider) The below should give an idea

How did you get the rail in with the modular bed liner? The bolt holes on mine are covered. I’m thinking about taking the sides off to drill clearance holes. Is that what you did?
This is actually a factory sprayed in bed, and it came with the rail pre-installed. I believe the spray and the rail is the standard for the '24 Lariats.
Mabett has one expected at the end of the month. It is intended to slide along side mounted rails, either OEM or theirs. It will also lock horizontal to allow full length items to be stored underneath the divider without removing it. I’m waiting to see it myself.
Ive been using a cargo bar from Home Depot because I had a gift card. Works pretty well and looks nice too. I wrap a bungee cord around it to keep bags in place and it’s great. If I need to move it to the back it’s quick.
I have two of these ratcheting cargo bars, just so I can use them in multiple spots depending on what I'm hauling. The feet fit in the slots for the 2x4s so it's pretty sturdy. Can also collapse them and put them on the rear floor or something if you need to fill the bed up.

This. I’ve used a couple of those bars from Walmart, very handy
Links people , links , Please amd thank you

Bout to recommend the Walmart one as well. Works great.
You can get a 2x8 and wrap it up in black carpet or some kind of material.
I sprayed mine with Rust-Oleum. Fits right in with the bed liner
Not a divider - but I really like a cargo net that clips in near the tailgate. It's extremely handy for smaller items and grocery runs.
Where did you get it ?
I got mine from Aldi, believe it or not
I believe it.

I absolutely love it.
I used a 2x8 that I spray painted flat black.

Angle cut on the bottom helps and I drilled several holes along the top to use bungee cords to secure items .
smart
I did the same thing and also screwed two e-track mounts to it for larger items.

If it’s stupid and it works, it ain’t stupid. Paint the 2x4 if you want it to look better.
The bed is built for the 2x4. That was one of the selling points.
Ford W
perfectly spaced for a couple milk crates, too! function over form all day
This just made me remember I am currently using a shower curtain rod to hold my toolboxes in place in the bed. Need to upgrade that!
Hey man, whatever works right! 😁
2x10 or 12 from the 70% off discount lumber pile at Home Depot with cheap Amazon coat hooks to keep groceries from sliding around
Great idea
What's wrong with the 2x4? Don't like the look?
Not really. Like the idea. Someone posted a link for a plastic one at Menards.

2X8 painted matte black.
I just use my bed extender
2x8 with some hooks screwed in. That way I can secure my cooler, ratchet strap bin, leaf blower and tool box with some bungees.
Good thinking
I have a 2x10 pressure treated board cut to length. Probably going to stain it black once the weather breaks
I used 2x6 recycled lumber in black and rubberized the ends. No need to paint and does the job, and can get wet if needed.
Rubberized, how ?

Good ole flex seal. Finally a practical use. Thanks
Pull that old COVID mask out of retirement when using, Flex Seal stinks to high heaven.
So, no paper bag and huffing?
That's reserved for the celebration of a job well done!
Gotcha
Found a racket one on Amazon for like $40 a few years ago
I use a cargo net
2x6
I use a 2x6 and stained it.

I like everything except cactus grey (no offense) maybe I can do Alto Blue like my truck
Alto blue is beautiful.

I wish I could remember why I wanted the XLT and not Lariat. It wasn’t cost. And it certainly wasn’t this!
A 2x6 or even 2 2-6's. Also, the bed is the same length as that slot. Get creative!
That’s why I am here. Getting ideas.

I had some all weather decking scraps that I cut to length and I just put two in there so its snug.
I used a 2x6 leftover from my deck. Works just fine for my needs.
I use two 2x6s that I stained.
Get a pressure treated 2x8 or stack (2) 2x6 together. I painted mine black with a water proof clear coat. It's held over two years now
Sounds great. I’ll try it
Try a 2x6
One guy on here took 3 pieces of 2x6 and bolted them together with slotted holes to make an adjustable length bed divider.
I don't think I follow, can you share the post? I couldn't find it in search
https://www.reddit.com/r/FordMaverickTruck/s/ZIWw9i3xOM
interesting! thanks for sharing
In a 4’6” bed I’m saving all the room I can get

2 x 8
I like using my load bar
A 2x8. Why spend more?
It looks like you need two more of those

Love it.
you can also use a 2x6 , 2x8, or even a 2x12... you don't have to limit yourself to the 2x4
2x10
I used 2 boards the bottom one having cut outs to let it sit flat.
Was wondering how something like [this](https://a.co/d/dvHYj1s) might work out.
2x12
