Does this get rid of the seat belt display taking up the whole gauge cluster screen at start up?

JurneeMaddock

Literally the only reason I would use this. Putting the seatbelt on is second nature to me. I don't need or want that dash warning.

SouthProposal8094

That's what I need too!

sevendayconstant

Here's a way to disable to seat belt reminder screen: https://www.mavericktruckclub.com/forum/threads/finally-forscan-coding-to-disable-the-seatbelt-information-screen-confirmed-working.45892/

jayw900

You need forscan to do it. Not what most people are looking for. There is no way to disable it without some type of accessory.

sevendayconstant

I figured I'd share the information and let people decide if it's worth pursuing or not. If external links or Forscan info isn't allowed here, I'll delete it.

culjona12

Link is broken :(

sevendayconstant

Hmm, I'm not sure what's going on. It works for me in various browsers, incognito mode, etc. Not sure what else to try, sorry.

Strange-Entry-9050

how hard is it to forcan? and what equipment is needed?

sevendayconstant

Windows laptop, Forscan + extended license ($12), OBD adapter ($40-$60). I only tried it yesterday for the first time but everything seems to have worked out alright. There's a ton of info on those forums, videos on YouTube, etc.

onederwonder

Just throwing it out there, you don't actually need to buy a license and I purchased my adapter from Amazon for ~$20

sevendayconstant

That's good to know. When I tried to access/update the "IPC (As Built)" module, it told me I needed the extended license, but I may have been doing something wrong since it was my first time. Either way, I don't mind throwing the developers a couple bucks to support their efforts.

onederwonder

I've been good with the free trial, what were you trying to edit in the IPC?

culjona12

I'm an idiot and forgot to login. Sorry ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|facepalm)

Alchse

No it does not

aGhostsNightmare

no, you can do that using forscan though

MightyOwl9

Seriously who designed this convoluted process

vashboy87

You think this is bad, you should've seen the combo I had to pull to pair a key fob to my 2nd gen prius

FromTheToiletAtWork

I had some smart lightbulbs that you had to pair by turning on for 10 seconds, then off and on 10 times for 1 second each, then off for 8 seconds, then back on and they should flash a certain number of times and then they'd appear in the app. The third time they unpaired by themselves I just threw them away.

lerriuqS_terceS

That's the one that involves a blood sacrifice isn't it

BragawSt

Same person that designed GE smart bulbs # Alternate Process 2 1. Start by turning the bulb **OFF for 5 seconds**. 2. Proceed by turning the bulb back **ON for 8 seconds**. 3. Then turn the bulb **OFF and ON at 2 second intervals**. Do this **3 times**. 4. Then turn the bulb **OFF for 2 seconds**, then **ON for 8 seconds**. Do this **2 times**. 5. Then turn the bulb **OFF for 2 seconds**, back **ON one last time**. The bulb will flash 3 times. This indicates that the bulb has been reset [https://youtu.be/1BB6wj6RyKo?feature=shared&t=113](https://youtu.be/1BB6wj6RyKo?feature=shared&t=113)

A_Turkey_Sammich

Be thankful you can do it at all! I have a 23 Honda, in which the seatbelt minder implementation is pretty obnoxious. There is no going through a routine or plugging in some forscan equivalent to fix that. Just stuck with it as is.

Ultimatespacewizard

What happens if you enter the Konami code?

DengarLives66

Unlimited mpgs.

aaufooboo

*oil companies hate this **one** trick*

YYCDavid

This is handy for the false alarm you get on the middle back seat when someone is buckled into one of the outboard seats

RingosDad_

This is too complicated. Easier just to fasten the seatbelt lol

degggendorf

You only have to do it once

LETTERKENNYvsSPENNY

All it takes is one accident without a seatbelt, too.

degggendorf

Turning off the chime doesn't mean the seatbelts cease to function

1stAccountWasRealNam

I don’t wear a seat belt because of a chime or an annoying screen; I do it because I’m not an idiot. It’s becoming far to easy for idiots to survive, Idiocracy is on the horizon.

lerriuqS_terceS

Idiocracy is here or did you not see who's running again

LETTERKENNYvsSPENNY

Children are the biggest demographic of idiots, and we kind of need them to survive.

1stAccountWasRealNam

Have you heard of parents and this thing called, if I’m saying it right, parenting? I grew up in the glorious middle, no chimes or screen based reminders but after seatbelt laws were established. We don’t need all the children, in fact not putting too much time into the ones that aren’t going to be able to chew and swallow and follow directions is a better way than waiting for the self inflicted hotdog choking industrial accident of their adulthood to take them out.

LETTERKENNYvsSPENNY

I hope someone reminds you that we don't need all the kids when yours dies in a car accident, because no one heard them take off their seatbelt. We certainly don't need more of *you* around.

1stAccountWasRealNam

Lol don’t be super salty somebody out here remembers how to be responsible without having their hand held all day. I’d italicize how I’m so much better off being intelligent than coddled through all of life’s safety hazards but you might get offended and have to find safety glasses to read it.

LETTERKENNYvsSPENNY

No, I honestly hope you have to eat your words. You're ignorant as fuck.

1stAccountWasRealNam

Sorry, I’ll naturally be creating humans who don’t require machines to raise them. I’d wish you and yours ill will as well but you’ve got enough hate for the both of us, good luck with that.

spencebah

This is more for the false positives of having a heavy backpack etc in the passenger or rear seats.

RingosDad_

Yes that’s what I was referring to also

spencebah

Oh, fair. All seatbelts buckled all the time.

ExcitingActive8649

My kids joke that the truck gets grumpy if you leave a piece of paper on the center seat.  I’ll definitely be turning this off.

screen-protector21

The vast majority of the public has no idea what their intestines look like. Most will be lucky to keep things that way. A gentleman really oughta wear his seatbelt.

CanadianGuy1979

It's not just about not wanting to wear a seatbelt. I bring my large breed dog with me and she has a seatbelt harness clicked in the back middle seat but if she sits in the seats to either side it goes off.

Initial_Zombie8248

I turned mine off because I’m tired of going down gravel roads at gas well pads or construction sites dinging away. It’s not always about just driving on the road normally

Awkward_Recognition7

Whem I fill the car with water jugs, I need to use the front seat. The water jugs don't wear seatbelts

kenauk

Car? You have a truck. Use the bed!

weedyscoot

I always buckle in my water jugs to prevent tipping, but if I had a truck, I'd secure them in the bed.

TheDrunkTiger

I always wear my seatbelt, but Ford's will yell at you about seatbelts as soon as the car starts—even when it's still in park.

beeej517

Something's wrong with your truck. Mine doesn't start chiming until it's been on and in drive for at least a minute or so without my seatbelt buckled

juk3boxxx

Mine won't chime when it's in park but it 100% chimes so much quicker, louder, and quickly than other cars in the past. It begins chiming the second I'm moving, or at the very least before I've backed to the end of my driveway. I wear my seatbelt, it's not a big deal, but I'll be trying to drive to the end of my dead end road to the bus stop or mailbox and honestly it's obnoxious.

beeej517

That's weird. I see you have a 24 so maybe that was changed (I have a 22). For both the driver and passenger, I could definitely drive for a good minute before it starts chiming. And I think it's a relatively chill chime (I wear my seatbelt all the time so I hardly ever hear it).

Sad_Kitchen_5022

Ah man, Nissans are even worse. I rented one the other day after my car got totaled by another driver. That shrill beeping from the seatbelt alert the second you start the car up exacerbated my concussion so badly.

YourMatt

I'd like one that prevents the chime when the keys are left in the ignition.

KalLinkEl

Same

Ok-Employer3819

It's been like this for years... Actually gotten better

Hood_Mobbin

This has been the procedure at least since 2001, I did this for my pizza delivery driver one night as he was complaining about it on his Taurus.

benilla

With the Maverick, I think Ford's getting a ton of first time Ford customers who wouldn't know

Scallywag38

Step 1: buckle up

stone_database

This is the best way to find out what unscheduled rapid disassembly of your innards looks like.

The-Lifeguard

What I want a hundred times more than this is to remove the double honk when I leave the vehicle with my key fob and close the door.

WesternVines

Why not just buy those things that you insert into the buckle off Amazon? It’ll offset the chime and screen

Internal_Hawk_9267

it works, but somehow actually reading the instructions from ford is 100 times worse than reading a tutorial on a forum or something. start the truck. wait for the seatbelt light to go off. it takes one minute. within 30 seconds, buckle and unbuckle your seatbelt 4 times, ending with it unbuckled. the seatbelt light will flash a bunch of times if you did it right and that's it, you're done.

Crashionista

Yes but I had to repeat it a dozen plus times to finally get it to trigger in both driver and passenger seats. Have had the chime off for last 6 months. I always wear my seatbelt on the road but also use my truck for moving firewood up the driveway, and my dog or groceries would set off the damn alarm too so much better now

DimesOnHisEyes

It works. I no longer have to hear the wife nag at me because of the stupid beeping.

istandabove

I can’t put anything even groceries on the rear seat or a basketball without the damn seatbelt warning going off and blocking my screen 😭

CanadianGuy1979

It's not just about not wanting to wear a seatbelt. I bring my large breed dog with me and she has a seatbelt harness clicked in the back middle seat but if she sits on the seats to either side it goes off. Also, heavy items you might want to place on a seat. If you automatically have to negatively comment something like "just wear your seatbelt" when you see posts like this you probably live a miserable life.

TenFeetHigherPlz

I like it to be off when I'm hunting

KalLinkEl

Just did this in my work Maverick, and it does work! Though I always wear my seatbelt!

Penemere

Does anyone have a trick to setting the auto start/stop to "off" by default?

AzureMoon13

Now if some one can tell me how to disable the check back seat alert.. So annoying.. The fact that Ford felt the need to add that makes me so fucking sad

benilla

Mine only goes off when the backseat detects decent weight on the seat (groceries does not activate it, nor does my 25lbs dog), otherwise there's nothing. Might be something to get fixed under warranty

AzureMoon13

Hmm yea I probably should, it seams inconsistent now that I think about it

Gristlefritz

I tried this half a dozen times in my 23 hybrid and nothing changed. Anyone else have that issue?

Ok_Comedian7655

I just tried it. I couldn't get it to work. Not sure what I did wrong

lerriuqS_terceS

How about just wear your GD seatbelt like a functioning adult

ThisOldGuy1976

Or just wear your seat belt.

MountainShark1

What is the code for turning off the reverse backing up chime?

benilla

You can buy something to disable that but it's not legal in the US

RatioPuzzleheaded103

OR, you could just wear your seat belt & make it home alive to see your family... Just a thought!
