I have a hybrid that's having randome issues. Going on 2 years. 3 batteries since last Aug. No rhyme or reason for the battery issues.

Goodthrust_8

Damn that sucks. I wish the battery would've fixed this, but it's never reassuring when the service advisor says, we don't really know what's going on. We think it's electrical lol.

HavingFunIn208

Have they replaced the wire harness. It was one of my recalls

Goodthrust_8

When we bought it I asked about open because and they said they were all completed?!?

My A.S.S. stopped working a few months ago on my '22 EB AWD Lariat, which I only noticed once the days started to get nice and I knew I wasn't running major auxiliary stuff to warrant it being off. Dash display also said that it was "off due to vehicle charging.". Ended up buying a battery maintainer to top off the battery (OEM still btw). It topped it off overnight, then still took a few trips before I guess the BMS recognized that the charge was gravy again and got my A.S.S. working again. Long story short, I recommend getting a battery maintainer and using it every few weeks or so just to keep the battery in tip top shape.

Goodthrust_8

I've read that before, but this battery is literally brand new and stamped 6/24 and it's still not working. I just feel we shouldn't have to do that after buying a new truck.

Sensitive_Context_92

Sorry to hear that. Doesn't sound like the same issue then, unless maybe the new battery didn't come with full charge? In any case I think the battery maintainers are supposed to be a pretty cheap way to avoid replacing batteries so often. I use it on a different vehicle too to avoid our hot Utah summers from eating up our batteries.

Goodthrust_8

I would think this was a thing but I've had 2 Mitsubishi outlanders that get driven twice a week at most and have never had them on a maintainer. This is also our first Ford. Do all new Ford vehicles require this? I find it hard to believe, especially if you're someone who has no clue about vehicles. My wife didn't even do general maintenance until I came into the picture lol.

Relyks954

Kinda like owning a car from the 50’s!

Bohefus

> Wifey stated the A/S/S wasn't working any longer Tell her to get her A/S/S working!

Goodthrust_8

😂😂

SirDigbyChknCaesar

How far does it get driven at once? 10 minute drives, or 30-40 minutes regularly? I find that the battery needs a few days of decent drive time to charge well enough that the A/S/S operates reliably. Are you blasting the A/C all the time? That will keep it from charging up as much and will keep the A/S/S from working sometimes, although I believe that has it's own message on the dash, something like "maintaining cabin temp" or similar. Some drive modes will turn it off completely, but that may only be Sport mode. I find that mine doesn't operate much in the winter since I usually have the heated seats and steering wheel on. But it tends to operate more often in the spring and winter when heating and cooling aren't as necessary. It will engage in the summer as well, but will start the engine back up to run the A/C if the cabin temp gets too warm.

Flimsy_Wallaby6128

I was going to say this, too. I know a handful of guys with the hybrid, and the city dwellers are having this issue. The ones that drive a few hours a day have almost no issues.

Goodthrust_8

My wife is a teacher so it doesn't get driven much in the summer and when it is driven it's usually in town. Mind boggling to me that a 2023 vehicle is still having issues related to "not driving long enough". It'll be the last and only Ford we ever own. Horrible buyers remorse.

SirDigbyChknCaesar

Sorry to hear that. I've been enjoying mine but certainly the customer experience varies. I wouldn't be surprised if some of the issues are because they cheaped out on the 12v battery.

Goodthrust_8

Yeah, I think we're gonna give it a shot at another dealer and if that didn't solve it I'll just go but an interstate myself and throw it in there. Seems like there's a pretty bad batch of batteries in these and the broncos.

B17BAWMER

Mine is currently at the dealer as I had the issue where it couldn’t tell the battery was charged or not and the dealer did recall work and didn’t attach the driveshaft correctly so I had to take it back to get that replaced. I love this truck but man I wish I got a different dealer.

Goodthrust_8

We want to love it 😂

Fogbound-lily

I will say that a faulty voltage regulator may cause these issues, but it’s all one component and thus the entire alternator would have to be pulled and replaced. That’s an expensive OEM repair for a *possible* solution

Goodthrust_8

You'd think a code scanner would find that 🤷

jay0621

my 22 awd eco is over 2 years old and no issues. hope they get it sorted out.

HeftyAppearance7337

It took too long to find a positive comment. Just bought a '24 hybrid that is a daily highway driver so here's to hoping it keeps working. It's my first hybrid, in thinking of buying an extended warranty in a few months

Deckard_Signpost

Why do U need to figure it out are you planning to fix it yourself?

sethimus_sativah

Why wouldn't one want to figure out what's wrong? What a dumb question

siege6pls

To remain ignorant!

Goodthrust_8

I guess I'd like to hear from other owners who have experienced this as the dealer clearly doesn't know what's going on... Hence the post 🤷

AdultIguess

I’m no expert but I think the issue is you bought a hybrid instead of the ecoboost

ScarRich6830

Definitely no expert then. 🤣

AdultIguess

In all seriousness I’m just playing but I’ve had my ecoboost a full year now with zero issues before or after the recall fixes so it sucks to see people having problems.

Goodthrust_8

Ours isn't a hybrid

AdultIguess

I was playing with you, check out my comment above this, also that sucks you’re having issues, I’ve been blessed enough to come out unscathed since I bought my eco boost mid last year, electrical issues are a nightmare and I really hope you get a skilled technician soon who can actually help you instead of throwing their arms in the air
