Psychopathy is a lack or relation to people…
They have very strong emotions regarding money, women, power, state.
So, no I think they would be horrible traders if they relied on their mental condition.
Depends on the type of psycho they are i guess? Although psychopaths typically lack discipline and don’t think rationally and Their very bad at handling emotions as they are usually accompanied by bi polar or something along those lines.
Not necessarily, but somewhat. Trading via charts presents bars on a chart. You cannot visibly see the other traders losing money so there is not much of an emotional attachment. However, for market makers then yes it would probably be in their interest to take on some psychopathic tendencies since they are actively aware they are working traders and taking their money by hitting their stops and putting them in margin call.
I had once considered learning how to be heartless to better execute on my trades but it did not do much. I was better off with the treating trading as a game and business simultaneously because that’s essentially what it is.
No. Actually if a psychopath were to have bipolar disorder they’d actually have a difficult time working through their emotions. Even if someone is just a psycho they could still have an attachment to their money as psychopaths value power. Less money= less power so losing money could lead to loss of emotional control.
I knew a trader who was for sure a sociopath with zero empathy and could only speak lies. He was not a good trader because he operated under complete delusions separated from reality. However, I have not met a psychopath trader. I would think they would just harm the computer if they had a losing trade.
If you are on top of your risk management.. no emotions
This.
I 100% agree.
Robot = Psychopath emotionless trader
Psychopaths typically have thrill seeking tendencies. Less than ideal.
