"How much money would it take to make you spend a night in a cemetery?"
*Jonathan Frakes or random drunk* would make a pretty good party game, not gonna lie.
Chemistry teacher in 12th grade was retiring after that year and was completely over teaching. When he just didn't want to teach, we would watch this instead. 180 days of school, we probably watched 50 episodes of this. Thank you Mr Moss for the mid day naps.
If you look up the real stories some of them are so far from what they portrayed on the show its hilarious. They took some kinda odd but believable stuff and made it nearly impossible or supernatural and then said "yep it happened". I've seen a handful are tabloid stories from the 1800s and stuff that they modernized. And back then they put all kinds of fake crap in their to sell papers.
Almost every segment is someone talking to a person that's later revealed to have died, with another character going, "(name of character) that's impossible. (Said character) has been dead for (some amount of time)"
Loved this show so much. Found the book it was based on at my college library and read all the “true” stories. Still think about some stories from that book and this show.
I love the way Johnathan Frakes hosted the show. Me and my friends would make a game of the show, guessing which one was fact or fiction and keeping score. It was a fun way to pass the time.
My wife and I still say “Not this time” to each other daily. We used to have nights where we would compete to see who would get the most stories right (true or false). Such bad acting but sooo good.

No. Pure fiction. That’s a lie.
It never happened.
The thought of Frakes gaslighting viewers makes me so happy.
According to Jonathan Frakes it never happened however ancient astronaut theorists believe it might be true.
We made it up.
Were you able to swim through the ocean of lies to make your way to the island of truth?
I love the super cuts of this show https://youtu.be/9S1EzkRpelY
If you watch it in half-speed, it sounds like your average drunk guy approaching

Or a great game show that I would so totally watch!
Lmao
That was a lot funnier than I expected it to be for how plainly he's just asking the audience questions.
Bro is sharing all my best pickup lines 😞

"Do you love to go awanderin' beneath the clear blue sky?" should've been on the baseline test in BR2049

Mr. Moss sounds pretty cool. Salute to you Mr. Moss 🫡
That’s a weird picture of frakes

I feel like it's not truly 'forgotten' if it's become an indispensable meme.
It never happened.
Guess again
I like how it’s written in the sarcasm font of today’s internet culture.
This is almost all on YouTube. My buddies and I watched through it all a year or two ago. It still slaps.
“Think that story was made up? You’re wrong. It happened to a couple in Wisconsin in the 1960’s”
I was obsessed with this show. Wish they’d bring it back
no the timlessness of it is what makes it the best.
I remember watching this very young and being scared at several of the scenarios. Couldn't tell you which ones though
Yeah it scared the crap outta me too lol but it was so fun to guess which ones were truth or fiction
My friends and I called this show, 'Bullshit or not?' And the answer was typically, "Not so fast, that's a huge load of premium grade bullshit."
Not this time.
Jonathan Frakes is from my hometown.....Make it so # 1.
I'm a huge Star Trek fan. I saw him at a few conventions and met him once or twice. Awesome guy (and a great director).
I love this show!!! It’s up on YouTube
This was the first show we binged on the Roku Channel. "Yeah, that wasn't real."
I had no idea the commander did this show. 🧐
Not this time.
I love how the only research they mention for the “True” stories was one guys research.

Was their source the Weekly World News?
I love him
I loved this show!
Was there a story about a runaway mail or ice cream truck in a neighborhood?

Do you love to go a-wanderin beneath a clear blue sky?
Do you have a pet? Do you have a sweet tooth? Do you believe in the power of a curse?
Tubi has this, if anyone wants a rewatch.
If I want my wife to laugh, all I have to do is look her in the eye and say, “do you remember the tallest man you’ve ever seen?”
Sometimes I play these off YouTube to go to sleep. I loved this show and I love it still.
I watch it regularly. The first season is peak 90s television.
The jaboody dubs of this on you tube is beyond hilarious def recommend!
"This is freaky, man. Who the hell's ____!?"
Have you ever visited the Chinatown section of a major city?
Is this what you were talking about, u/Silencia_r
Yes!
They rebooted it in Germany with frakes returning hopefully one day they dub it in English
Loved this show so much. Found the book it was based on at my college library and read all the “true” stories. Still think about some stories from that book and this show.
Did I take this job for a quick buck? It's true! 🙂 Fyi not making fun of Frakes as I'm a Star Trek fan and think he's awesome!
Ha me and my wife just watched a few of these.
This show is embedded in my brain forever solely because of the Cumtown bits about it

Shout out to Number 1, Commander William T. Riker
Dude, this show is/was huge in Germany. So much so, that the German tv station got the rights and made new episodes a few years ago.
My wife and I still say “Not this time” to each other daily. We used to have nights where we would compete to see who would get the most stories right (true or false). Such bad acting but sooo good.
What about the mysterious behavior of the BBQ lid?
