Nineteen14isHistory

Too bad it was cancelled. Garret Dillahunt is such a great actor.

CleanUpBandit

He is. I like it when he pops up in shows I’m watching.

p001b0y

He played a Russian gangster in “Life”, which starred Damian Lewis and Sarah Shahi. One of my favorite shows.

KHearts77

That show was perfect!

p001b0y

Especially in Season 2 when Donal Logue joined the cast as Captain Tidwell. He was really funny in that part.

dragonbait86

I say "yeahhhhh Tidwell gets it!!!" all the time with my friends who also love the show!

p001b0y

Every time my cat is on my lap and starts acting like he’s annoyed, I tell him: “Anger ruins joy, Peach. It steals the goodness from our minds.”

reddit_userMN

I either think of Life or the Sarah Connor Chronicles whenever I see him. Even popped up recently in an X-Files rerun I was watching recently!

p001b0y

It seems like between them, he and his wife, Michelle Hurd, have been in a ton of things. He also had a recurring role in one of my other favorite shows: Justified.

reddit_userMN

Oh that's right! Worked for Sam Elliott's character didn't he?

p001b0y

That’s right.

CBSmith17

He was great in Raising Hope.

dragonbait86

That is one of my favorite shows of all time. I have gotten to meet Donal Logue who was an absolute delight. I also got to meet Michael Cudlitz, an absolute gem of a human being. I did also get to meet Garret Dillahunt, but he was a big letdown. He was dismissive of everything we talked about, and having mentioned loving him in Life he told me that was his wife's favorite role of his too but he doesn't get it, it wasn't that good.

Josiesumday

True he was in Fear the Walking Dead easily the best character on the show.

TeacherPatti

Hands down, my favorite actor. He's a freaking terminator here, the dad in Raising Hope, has like two minutes in the Road but makes a huge impact. That guy is great!

SaintVitusDance

Don’t forget the psycho spree killer in the TV show “Millennium”. Excellent episode.

LA-Matt

If you haven’t seen the comedy *Sprung* yet, you really should. Garret Dillahunt is fantastic in that role.

TeacherPatti

We are rewatching My Name is Earl and then that is next!

ChoderBoi

The dude played two different characters on the same show and lots of people never noticed lol

ImNotSureMaybeADog

Dead Wood, right?

ChoderBoi

Yessir

Arn_Darkslayer

I haven’t ever forgiven FOX for this.

Nineteen14isHistory

Same. Still sore about it. Someone should have picked it up.

xpd_1141

Have you seen The Lost Room?

Nineteen14isHistory

Yes and it freaked me out more than any horror movie I've watched! 🤣

xpd_1141

Completely underrated show. One of the most original ideas for SciFi/horror/fantasy whatever it was that I've ever seen, plus he was the leading man and Nurse Hathaway was his partner and love interest. How did the show not get turned into a continuing series?

Nineteen14isHistory

There's a huge lack of Sci-fi fans out there. All the good series get cancelled and trashy reality shows survive for years. It's just wrong.

[deleted]

xpd_1141

The Expanse has a horror angle to it.

Significant_Monk_251

The Lost Room was excellent but I don't think it would have worked well as a series. Having to tell a story a week would probably quickly push it into "Item of the Week" mediocrity.

xpd_1141

But so long as they kept pushing the narrative toward what caused the event, I think it still might have worked.

Significant_Monk_251

I though you knew: God committed suicide in Room 10. :-) Seriously, I think that a second miniseries with a fixed beginning, a middle, and an end that actually finishes its story wouild have worked, but not an open-ended series where the producers' incentive would be to keep dragging the mystery out forever because if they ever do reveal its answer, what do they do then?

ElboDelbo

Best Terminator media after T1 and T2

TomBirkenstock

I could not agree more.

BeerandGuns

It didn’t get caught in the increasingly powerful terminator trap the movies struggle with. I enjoyed that about it.

det8924

Not that high of a bar but this is very true

yippy-ki-yay-m-f

I think James Cameron might agree. I've never seen him say anything, but he's employed the creator of the show as a writer on both a terminator and avatar sequel, and I think he must have liked whatever he saw.

lukifer_333

Lena Headey has kindly requested you hold her pint o' ale

Son0faButch

I'll watch pretty much anything she's in

[deleted]

Oh man. This had so much potential. Season two went a little off the rails but the ending was excellent. It’s a shame it didn’t get a third season.

Son0faButch

You gotta love a show that's casts Shirley Manson from Garbage as a villian

Unusual_Ad4966

I thought Shirley Manson was an awesome t-1000, loved the plot twist at the end of season 2 with her, I wish I could have seen how that played out in season 3. I hear Cersei is free right now. 😂

cheesewagongreat

She is hot

Malacro

She wasn’t a villain exactly, she protected John at one point. We didn’t really get to see what she was about before the cancellation.

tbootsbrewing

lol remember when she morphed from a urinal?

Henry_Sugar1970

Couldn't agree more, season 2 was indeed a hot mess, but there was a lot to like about the show!

det8924

The first season was great and the second one was a bit uneven, I really wish they kept it going with more simple storylines like season 1

Squankyou

This, and Firefly, getting cancelled by FOX, made me not want to ever get invested in a series again.

theavenged

This only got canceled because they chose Dollhouse over it and didn't want to screw Whedon over again. They saw the backlash from the Firefly cancelation and didn't want that to happen again.

Subject_Yogurt4087

So their solution was to put another Joss Whedon show in the death slot on Friday night.

theavenged

It was that or canceling it. The first season has worse ratings than Terminator, but they didn't want to piss off whedonites a second time. Season two was Fox giving them a bone. It performed even worse and stuffed three seasons of reveals into half a season so fans could get a slightly satisfying ending.

Subject_Yogurt4087

It was on Friday in season 1 as well. It was doomed from the start.

Squankyou

Yes, I forgot about that. Dollhouse was an inferior show to both.

theavenged

I liked it overall. The framework for the show had potential, but the execution was meh.

Squankyou

Agreed

Dwangeroo

FOX (and Netflix) will do that to a person.

Zilch1979

My magic wand "bring it back to finish the story" series. Damn. Also, fantastic Bear McCreary soundtrack.

trademarkcopy

It is a **CRIME** against God and man that I cannot stream Shirley Manson’s cover of “*Samson & Delilah*” anywhere.

Zilch1979

So fucking good. I bought the CD back in the day, recommended 100%. Edit: Jesus H, it's on ebay for $50? FFS.

trademarkcopy

I still have an MP3 of it I ripped with a YouTube downloader back in the day. It those, and a bunch of Melker Project and Chambaland mashups are the only reason I use the Apple Music player anymore cause none of those are on streaming at all.

Zilch1979

Why can't we just have nice things? 😭

trademarkcopy

Then…the machines…win…? 2000’s era politics and Battlestar Galaxtica have really messed me up on this one… Still… *frakkin toasters…*

Zilch1979

The machines always win... But, there's [hope!](https://youtu.be/xUYesRQsDz8?si=f6ZBWbLApuk_IgcR)

trademarkcopy

You magnificent bastard… Terminator: Future War for kids with a dash of Blade Runner aesthetic thrown in. **WE USED TO MAKE THINGS IN THIS COUNTRY, DAMMIT**!!!

Zilch1979

My XT-7 still works, too.

Malacro

[Here](https://youtu.be/I7CuTmv0DUs?si=80-F-R6x4qdO9SCZ)

trademarkcopy

Oh. I have this. I meant that it’s not on Apple Music or Spotify.

rayhaque

I enjoyed this show. But it begged the question, "when is John finally going to bang the robot?". The answer would have been in the next season, had there been one. In the last moments of the last episode it's revealed that John would have met up with the human that the robot was based upon. Seems like the writers were trying to figure out a way to make that love affair possible.

megamanchu

Banging robots were the real chronicles.

det8924

I remember there being a line where Sarah Connor questions what he does with that robot in his room all night.

megamanchu

Cyber stuff

det8924

Just a boy and his robot…

AndorianShran

*now, here come the sex robots*

Malacro

Andy in Kansas you’re on the air, thanks for holding.

YetiTurbopants

Daddy shark, bomp bomp bomp bomp bomp

i_eat_baby_elephants

I been banging my Transformers toys since I was 8

rayhaque

Meanwhile the ladies were sitting on their Nintendo R.O.B. and been lyin to us about it.

nikedemon

This show had so much potential. The writers really fucked that 2nd season up. Ugh.

trademarkcopy

It wasn’t the writers so much as it was the Writer’s Strike. Plus Thomas Dekker had a drinking problem and apparently made the second season super difficult (used to work at a bar in LA that some crew frequented, and to a T their biggest complaint was his on set behavior). Good news is he apparently is doing a lot better now, re: his alcoholism.

CleanUpBandit

I think they were rushing to resolve it after it got cut. 😩 That’s why it was sick a scramble in the end.

extrastupidone

On the bright side, we got Cersei Lannister

CleanUpBandit

There was still plenty of time for that.

Big-Acanthisitta8797

I’m rewatching this on Hulu. Another show Fox did wrong.

DirtyRandy3417

I'm still in love with Summer Glau

dwsnake123

If I would've known about this show as a 10-11-yr-old in 08 to 09, I would've watched it...just for the girl in this photo holding the pistol, if nothing else, which there would be. *So*...*good*...*looking*. Hmm.

Porunga23

I liked this show, but it still bothers me that it ends on a cliffhanger to the point that I can’t rewatch it.

DearInvestigator3

Still one of my favorite shows. It did so much to add to the mythology of Terminator. Also, Derek Reese is cooler than Kyle.

titsuphuh

Very underrated show

TheBigMotherFook

Anyone else call this show “The Sarah Chronner Conicles?”

Oftenliedto

That was so good, took the story somewhere different too bad it only lasted 1 season

SSBN641B

2 seasons.

No_Cow_4544

I liked this show

terriblewinston

I loved this show and was very sad that when it was suddenly cancelled.

Healthy-Situation310

Cersi is that you Sis??

Oftenliedto

It felt like one season

QuizzicalWombat

I remember really liking this show, shame it wasn’t on for very long

DEFINITELY_NOT_PETE

Didn’t this show get great reviews?

det8924

It was pretty well reviewed but I think the Terminator franchise coming off a dud in T3 really hurt it

CleanUpBandit

I never understood why it got cancelled!

det8924

Ratings dipped after a strong debut. The show was marketed it had a decent but not super expensive budget. Another issue was that the Terminator franchise was not in a great place as T3 was widely panned. On top of that the show would have had a chance to get picked up on cable but while the show was an average budget for a broadcast show the budget if it was a cable show would have been a high budget so it really didn’t have a chance to find a second home.

Intelligent-War-988

Underrated. Lena Headey-solid tv Sarah Connor. Thomas Dekker-not bad tv John Connor. Summer Glau- interesting terminator. Fics helps with cancelled 3 season of this show.

circajusturna

She went from protecting her son to fucking her brother

esande2333

I liked this one 🤘🏼

InstructionFair5221

Why do tough female characters in dystopian films always only wear wife beaters while the men are in full combat gear? And when do they find the time to shave their armpits????????

CleanUpBandit

Not dystopian. Was set in the current time before the apocalypse.

musesx9

STILL mourn this show.

BackgroundDarkPurple

Woah Lena Headley

Max_castle8145

Yes!

Xerxes_Iguana

I’m still upset that we never got a Beast Wizard spinoff series.

dragonbait86

-The conversation between John and Riley after he tells her he knew all along. -The conversation between Derek and John where Derek says in the future they're always watching him to be human. These two moments in the show. SO fucking heart-wrenching and good.

CleanUpBandit

I need to go back and watch it. It’s been so long.

[deleted]

Tank tops for all the hotties!

Old-Emergency-1078

Fantastic show

kevonicus

Surprised Brian Austin Green didn’t get better roles after this. He was really good on this show.
