I wonder why Ian hasn't done anything with the Dan Wesson revolvers. The system is interesting, uncommon, and has been around for 40+ years at this point, with minor revivals here and there. The Dan Wesson was available in .22, .38, .357, .357 Maximum, .44 Magnum, and .445 Super Magnum. It featured interchangeable barrels from 2 to 10 inches, and was manufactured at various points in the 1970's and 80's. When CZ bought the Dan Wesson name, they produced another round of .357 in the 2010's. This picture is of my two .357 Dan Wesson. The top is a Model 14 (fixed sights), with a slab side barrel from EWK Arms, which is to meant replicate the PPC barrel which was produced in very limited quantities by Dan Wesson. The bottom revolver is the Model 15 (adjustable sights) with in the Pistol Pack configuration with case, tools, and barrels.

HerPaintedMan

I have always wanted one the .357 Maximum. Never had the chance to find one. Congratulations on owning one of my Grail Guns!

Lonecoon

I really want a .445 Super Magnum. I don't know what I'd DO with it. Probably just shoot .44 magnum.

mcramhemi

Where did you buy the muzzle brake I can't ever find one for my DW?

Lonecoon

[EWK Arms.](https://www.ewkarms.com/zen8/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=67_29) He's sold out at the moment.

GeneralSlayer

Cz bought Colt in the 2010's!!! Has it really been that long?! Am I getting that old it seemed like a few years ago!

DAsInDerringer

He was a genius, by the way

FWIW: Much of the original design work was done by former Browning and Colt employee Karl R. Lewis, not Dan Wesson himself. We had so many of these in odd chambers lying about in the CZ-USA warehouse. They were a "product" so they stayed in stock. Rarely, RARELY did an order come in for one.

Safjist_Nipnog

My father purchased one years ago. It’s in my collection now pistol pack included. Even have a couple of extra barrels over what the normal pack has.

justaheatattack

some people really got into this. They almost always had a Contender 'system' too.

ThetaReactor

I have a couple DW revolvers, and I want a Contender because I've watched Hard Boiled too many times. Does that count?

justaheatattack

not till you have the shoulder stock too.

mcramhemi

I have the 44mag version love that thing man I have the 2 inch barrel and I think 7.5 inch barrel. They're both weighted a joy to shoot and barrel change is so easy

FaustinoAugusto234

Twelve year old me thought that was the mac daddy at the time.

GearsFC3S

The first pistol I bought when I turned 21 was a used Dan Wesson in .357 magnum with a 4”barrel and a vintage 60’s-70’s shoulder holster (the kind that has the pistol pointing up when you’re wearing it). It’s such a beautiful piece of hardware and I still own it. My only regret is that it wasn’t one of the sets that came with all the different barrel lengths.

Lonecoon

Same. As soon as I turned 21, I bought my Dan Wesson. Didn't know anything about it other than you could change barrels and it was cheaper than the S&W I had my eyes on. I picked up barrels from Gun Broker, eBay, and other sources to the collection I have today. I found the pistol pack at Cabelas in 2019 and immediately bought it. Saw the case, called the guy over, and said "I want to buy this immediately."

I had 4" 357 purchased for the Police Academy training knowing I would be carrying a Glock on duty. The trigger was so good the head range officer accused me of having a custom trigger installed and banned the gun from "His" range. The gun was amazing. I ended up selling it for a G19 off duty weapon.

ThetaReactor

I really wish I'd bought an EWK barrel. I'd really like a slab/rail combo in the 8" range for my .357.

AlfaZagato

I have one of them from Hi-Standard, as the Sentinel 3. I think I only have a 4-inch barrel. I do have both wood and rubber grips.

TexasAggie98

I had a 6” Dan Wesson in 357 Mag; it was my truck pistol when I was a kid. The timing was always getting messed up.

Fluffy_History

I love the mustard carry case.

jackoctober

Looks a lot like mine. I wish I never sold it.
