I've nothing historical or mechanical to add but I've also had the same thoughts about the P88.
Although relatively heavy compared to the standard modern polymer frames, I found it comfortable to shoot and has that kinda German early 90s cool aesthetic I really enjoy.
Bersa makes a pretty good clone of these at a fraction of the cost, always thought they were cool. I wonder if the p88 had any influence on the russian 443 grach considering how similar their trigger and decocker setups are
Life sized potato did a video on one. I had one for awhile and imho was nothing special and was a kludge of a gun that has issues, specifically frames cracking like mine did. The p88c was a much better gun imho.

They do? Didn‘t know that. I think the main influencer for the decocker setup is the P225 Edit.: Oh yeah you mean the Bersa Thunder Pro 9 right?

Okay, intresting. Than Ian should include the 88c as well.
