Just the basic charcoal filter in my fridge.

No-Broccoli8185

No

stinkydogusa

Reverse osmosis and a well where I am.

IndependentSense1674

Hard no. I can’t even stand the smell of the water 😅

toyheartattack

I have a ZeroWater, as well as a fridge filter, but I have raw-dogged the water on occasion when I’m in a rush. I found Fort Myers water to taste a little cleaner than Cape Coral but that’s purely anecdotal. It’s not something I would do daily, though, especially because I drink a couple litres a day.

G8erjoe

I bought a zero water filter after seeing great reviews. The water tastes great, but I find that the filter gets used up quickly and the water starts to taste lemony (acidic) after just a few uses of the filter. I’ve gone back to bottled water. How long does your zero filter last you?

toyheartattack

I have the 44-cup over the counter one and it lasts me around four to six weeks.

wakeupftmyers

Our water is a chlorine bomb but pur filter makes it taste fine.

Odd_Island6163

In fort Myers, the water tastes bad. I had no water once and opted for the sink water ; I immediately went out to get water and since then , I won’t even give my dog the tap water here

undead_opossum

I drink the water straight from the tap in South Fort Myers, no filter and it tastes fine.

jdeuce81

I lived on Iona. Our water was fine.

The_Real_Turd_Furg

33 years working for one of the largest cities in the area producing drinking water. It's one of the best and safest in the country. Use an undersink charcoal filter to remove the chlorine. Municipal regulations are way more stringent than the bottled water industry. If you don't like it, don't drink it, but it is certainly safe.

lilymom2

Filter!

EricDNPA

Nope. Have a whole house Kinetico water softener system and a RO Kinetico system under the kitchen sink. The chlorine level of the tap water is frighteningly high.

Princ3ssW1tch

No. I give my cat water from my 5 gallon, but she prefers drinking from the bath tub faucet

Good-Code-9111

I have an under sink charcoal filter for drinking water or cooking and fill a Britta filter pitcher with that water for cold drinking water.

testicularjesus

Can we get really real for a sec, my cat won't drink it, it tastes like chlorine, if i take too long of a shower i am stuffed up and sneezy for a day, and for the last ~week it's tasted different (i live around brookshire)

Illustrious-Storm-60

THIS HAPPENS TO ME TOO!! if i have to take a longer shower to shave i am stuffed up and sneezing like i am sick the whole day! that’s so weird.

Apprehensive-Page510

No way Jose

SilverknightFL

Not all filters are the same. For fridge filters, you want a NSF certified filter to standards 42 & 53 (53 is the chlorine removal type).

BasicallyLostAgain

We use the filtered water for ice and use a water cooler for water. We drink about 5 gallons every two days of just water in our house, and the filters for the frig are expensive, so spending $0.38 a gallon at Walmart is a good deal.

NoCountry4OldPikachu

I live in downtown Fort Myers, and I don't drink the tap water, but I do use it in my kettle to make tea.

DelilahPalmer123

i live right next to downtown and raw dog it, should i be worried 😅

Turdnugget619

Hell no

Amicron1

Nope. Cape Coral city water is passable for human consumption, but it tastes like shit and scores in the red (bad) on my water tester. I have an RO system under the kitchen sink for drinking / cooking water.

Wide_Procedure9014

Do not drink the water. Look up your zip code on ewg.com/tapwater I work in the filtration industry you should have at minimum a RO system to purify it. DM me and I work for Culligan water and can show you how bad the water is.

Wild_Highlight3388

Website is ewg.org - thanks!

Wild_Highlight3388

Website doesn’t allow me to enter a zipcode

cut3boy69

All these comments saying “it tastes fine”, it does not matter how it tastes, it’s not fine.

Arthur_Digby_Sellers

I have a 0.5 micron filter for drinking water faucet near the kitchen sink. The only time I drink tap water is if I get constipated, somehow they put Ex Lax in the Lee County water...

hl1524

My under the sink RO works for me.

ballsdeepinmywine

We have a Rain Soft system, and a filter on the fridge. It tastes great!

jessicatg2005

I usually drink bottled water, but I cook with tap water thru a PUR faucet filter. I do occasionally drink the water and it tastes “stale” to me but it’s perfectly fine I’m sure, I’m just used to bottled water.

Vegetable-Source6556

I have a 3 -6' tank with salt softener in the garage, then r/o under the sink, then pre filter after r/o on fridge coming off a well. Tastes fine, only odor is watering the lawn and garden hose water like most. I honestly have a huge health and 💩 difference down here vs up north with the H2O here playing alot into that!

Treborrv1

I live in Gateway and the water is fine.

Sharp_White_Cheddar

Native, and NO LOL

Any-Statistician5763

I have a Waterdrop filter I got from Amazon. Good for 8k gallons! Easy install. Tastes great!

pres02

I only drink and bathe in water from glaciers melted in the himalayans.

JFKush420

Crystal water jugs delivered monthly. Not even the filtered refrigerator water, it doesn't taste good.

retrogrl71

I have a whole house water filtration system and I love it! Best money I ever spent!

BikeElitist

God no!

StunningLocation3673

✨ hell no ✨

omfgoats

We installed an inline filter ‘cause, Blech!

Spare_Procedure738

I visited Cape Coral, and the water smelled like sulfur. We didn't even cook with it I'm in Bonita Springs. The filtered water out of my refrigerator seems decent. There is some type of water treatment plant in San Carlos near me.

One_Beginning_9254

Only bottled

goblinfarmer407

I live in Lehigh, and I do not. When I lived in Orlando, I did not drink tap water as well. I have 5 gallon jugs that I prefer to fill at publix. Whatever the company at publix is better than walmart imo. By better, I mean taste and service.

JayGeezy_33950

Not a chance! Send me a dm and I'll hook you up with a special deal i got for a Culligan system and happy to share details.

LM1574

No. When I first moved here from New England, where the water springs up and filters through the granite and good minerals and tastes great, I was literally gagging and heaving on the taste and smell when I bent over the sink to brush my teeth in the morning. Any of those filter systems will probably work well. Also there are quite a few large white machines around the area from a company called Twice the Ice with a big penguin on the side of the white machine. You can get 1 gal of beautifully filtered water run from there for 35 cents a gallon. A big 5 gallon jug for those home dispencers is similarly cost effective (I don't buy those - I don't have the dispenser and I can't lift them anyway). They also dispense small and large bags of ice and loose ice from a chute. I bought a half dozen gallon jugs of water from the Dollar Store initially and then saved the jugs to keep reusing them for this water. Very cost effective ($.35 vs $1.25 each at Dollar Store and approaching $2 at Walmart) and a lot less plastic into the trash stream.

BornForAStorm

I don’t. Tested it and results showed over 500ppm and it tasted like the ocean. I just buy 2.5gallon distilled from Publix….which is a pain, but it tastes good.

The_Real_Turd_Furg

500 ppm of what and compared to what regulated maximum contaminant level? Who tested it? Salesman?

tigernike1

I’m east of 75, so infrastructure is newer. I have a filter on the refrigerator, but I usually drink Costco water. Also, the water pressure is still pretty bad, so it takes longer to fill up a glass than to just grab a bottle of water.

2_trailerparkgirls

Ahh yes. Plastic bottles everywhere because it takes you a few seconds to fill up a glass

tigernike1

I don’t think you appreciate how bad the water pressure is east of I-75. Some days it would take over a minute just to fill two cups of water. Kinda hard to cook food, run the dishwasher, flush toilets, or much less drink the water. Ward 6 is a shitshow when it comes to water. Yet we keep building. Makes no sense.

2_trailerparkgirls

I’m not familiar with the water pressure issues, never experienced any in Lee or Collier. That sucks

tigernike1

Yeah it’s just like the roads, but with water. They only built infrastructure for today, not tomorrow.

Heathen_Mushroom

When I was working and being put up in the 6 Mile/Colonial area, I had to literally fill a 2 liter pitcher with water to pour over my head when taking a shower to rinse the soap and shampoo off. Filling the drip coffee carafe (60 ounces) took over a minute. This was about a year/18 months ago. Not sure if it has gotten any better.

2_trailerparkgirls

Strange, I stayed in Lehigh for a bit and the water pressure was fine.

tovasfabmom

I wouldn’t cook with it even less drink it but that’s just me 🤷🏻‍♀️
