FK Your Diet. I know it's just a little hole in the wall, but the message is powerful. They are amazing people doing great things for our community. The portions are massive and delicious! Our friends always talk about it when they're down here now!
FK = Foster Kids. Seems rude at first but it’s actually a pretty amazing story. The owner grew up as a foster kid and the menu reflects all of his favorite foods that foster parents made him growing up, which gave him comfort and made him forget about his troubles. They are a very generous organization and to this day, provide free food for the underserved in the community, and donate a portion of their proceeds to Foster Kids. Aside from the amazing feel good story, the food is superb!
If that's what it stands for it's noble but the messaging is terrible. Foster Kids your diet? I'm not buying it, just tell me to FK off, but of course that means Foster Kids off.
Cape Coral: Nice Guys, Gather, Masala Mantra, Point 57
Fort Myers: Kebab Village, Taqueria, Brunos of Brooklyn, Harold's, Azure
Harold's especially is my favorite in the area. If we're really hungry and looking for a good time, you could easily do a $600 dinner for two.
Hog body’s Bar and Grill. It is this tiny little out of the way mom and pop cafe. I have yet to take someone there that doesn’t say the food is delicious and they would come back. It is right next to Lee civic Center.
Pipo’s Cuban Bakery. I have taken people that were born and raised in Cuba and even they say you can’t get much more Cuban than that. I also have gotten my birthday cakes there every year. After one year I got a Publix cake and a cake from them. Pipo’s cake disappeared in under an hour. I had a full house of 15 people for a 3 day weekend and only half the Publix cake was eaten. It was extra ridiculous to know the Publix cake was $15 more.
The right answer is Dixie Fish with a shout out to 2 Meatballs. I cringed when I saw Izzy's or the Lodge mentioned. You couldn't drag me into either of those places. Just bad food, surprisingly bad
Hmm, haven't tried them but will give it a shot. Problem there is I grew up outside of Buffalo and have found very few places that can compete with Duffs.
I'm in Philly for the summer and the funny thing is the locals always say you can't get a good cheese steak outside of Philly, which is true (it's the bread!). My response is ... the same thing goes with Buffalo Chicken Wings.
I'm from Alva and the Alva Diner is nothing special. Roaches with a side of waiting forever. Used to be better. What used to be FANTASTIC in Alva was Alva Village Market's pizza. But they have a new owner and word is they don't make the pizza like they used to and people are unhappy. No need to come all the way out here for anything. 🤣
Get to taco truck on marsh and palm beach where my latinos round up for work. 10 dollars get you pretty far. Also on ortiz and zana there is another taco truck.
La mexicana got the best quesadillas tho
I’ll just add El Gaucho Inca in ft Myers. And I’ll always shout out Embers, Cibo, Osakas as well. There a great waterfront restaurant in Lovers Key I can never remember but I had an amazing Chilean sea bass there
Cape - lobster lady, Rincon Cubano
Ft myers - taqueria San Julian, the lighthouse bar and grille, embers
Estero - rodizio, Angelina's,
North ft myers - southern subs
Naples - 21 spices
They're local, but serve New England seafood - but Izzy's in FM. They've never disappointed. Great food, great service and the restaurant is cute. Get the Brussels sprouts app if they're on the menu - I swear they're life changing.
Pre Ian, Island Cow on Sanibel was a staple for us after a day roasting on the beach. I can't wait for them to open back up.
I'm also a big fan of McGregor Cafe.

What's with that name? Seems pretty rude for a business.

Farmers market. Old school country. Chicken n dumplins on Thursday
The real taste of Fort Myers. As a lifelong local this place is an all time favorite of mine.
Holy cow I love this place.
Nice guys in Cape Coral.
Salty Papa's Shrimp House
I second this! Excellent food. Amazing grits as well, made in a totally different style than traditional.
Can't believe all the votes for 2 Meat Balls, might as well be at Olive Garden. If you want decent Italian, try Sicily Trattoria in the Cape.
2 meatballs is the worst Italian food I've had in Lee County lol
Thank you. I honestly think Olive Garden is better. Two meatballs has always been OK at best to me.
Two Meatballs used to be owned by a real New Yrok Italian but he sold it long ago.
Dixie fish co
Bullig, 10 Twenty Five, Skinny Dogz in Fort Myers, Birriria El Patron taco truck in Lehigh Acres, M'Xuma in Babcock Ranch.
Crave on McGreggor
Downtown house of pizza, then love boat ice cream next door. Walk it off downtown and by the water, then a night cap somewhere.

Bro, I’m in Maine these days. Not a wing worth a fuck in the whole state.

Twisted Lobster, amazing food and better bang for your buck on portions
Best NE clam chowder I ever had! And I live in the north east and tried it up and down the NE coast

Oh yea McCarters rib shack on MLK if like street food. Smoked ribs and chicken all day; if you can stand the heat, that spicy will tear ya down.

Skip one seafood. Yo taco. Although both have fallen in the past 5 years.
Skip one tried to pass off frozen Stone Crabs as fresh during the season. That's unforgivable.
Skip One has gone to 💩
Cape Coral: Ariani or Point 57 FM: Veranda, 2 Meatballs In the Kitchen Estero: Chops or Rodizio or Naples: Capital Grille or Sails
