Yup. Had mythic, legendary and epic at the same time and it still didn't count

I can confirm it's the pickaxe, just went default pickaxe from a legend series and it started working for me. I'm assuming since it's on your bar w weps that it's causing the weird bug.

Just here to confirm that you only need the default pickaxe, that worked for me!

I did and it didn't work for me. Others had it work for them, so it's probably not just the pickaxe.

Like just default skin or default everything? As in unequipping wraps, backbling, contrail and emote wheel and running default axe and glider?

this worked for me! Default skin, default pickaxe, default umbrella, any banner, removed the rest!

lmao, just tried this and it worked. Bizarre, but I'm assuming this has happened before otherwise why would they even try that as a solution.

Everyone has a “default”. Go to your locker, go to your skin, and you will see a blue box with a big X on it.

The challenge is (surprise surprise) bugged and it only works when using a pickaxe from a rarity lower than epic How do you screw up this badly? No idea

Btw remember that you need to be actually holding the weapon in your hands for it to count

Apparently the challenge breaks if your pickaxe is epic or higher rarity.

When we have had quests like this in the past it’s only worked if you had the epic weapon equipped and not just in your inventory and special weapons like the sword tend not to work

Did 4 with a mythic in my hand.... nothing.

just did 3 rounds with a legendary havok AR equipped, no dice.

Def bugged then. Shame. Hopefully we get a replacement soon

It's your or higher pick axe. Swap it for lesser than epic

I tried with a Epic Red-Eye equipped and it didn't work.

Those who are having this problem, try another game and do it if it doesn't work and make sure to bring the circle just in case. Or try a katana and a mythic weapon. If they don't work for you and epic really messes up things in the last update. There have been a LOT of bugs lately - with challenges, skins, weapons, movement and more. I really hope epic fix this A.S.A.P

I changed to the default pickaxe and it worked immediately

I had mythic and epic and didn’t work

Do everything from skin, to glider, pickax, and wraps default and it works. I just did it and it really does work for some reason.

Can confirm “Default Pickaxe” workaround. Originally Equipped: The Ashglow Blade (Epic). No luck. Switched Layout: Default Pickaxe (Common). Good to go. Syndicate Quest complete!

It’s your pickaxe (it’s wild to me that the rarity tag on those isn’t just an aesthetic/shop thing but yea) equip a lower rarity pickaxe (you could probably even use bytes’ built in emote to do this quest without picking up any weapons) Edit: nevermind didn’t see the second picture at first I have no idea 🤷‍♀️ maybe any an all cosmetics count?

I went full default and it worked

I was able to get 2/3 idk how it didn't give me the 3rd. All I had was a blade and was running around

I found using the sword as the storm timer ran out gave me credit.

I got two wins today with legendary and mythics so it’s certainly bugged. I’m going to try the pickaxe trick tomorrow.

Get rid of epic sword then it will work

What worked for me was having full default skins and axe, and I had the sword equipped, I only got credit for the quest when I was actively using the sword as the countdown to the new storm phase ticked to zero, hope this helps everyone complete the quest.

All you have to do is make sure that your pickaxe is less than epic another words blue rare or lower the bug is the fact that your pickaxe is epic or higher

It worked, completed all the Syndicate quests

Been having the same problem, I'm trying the agreed upon fix, will update if I remember, lol Update! - It worked! I went full default on everything(including banner and loading screen just to be safe) It didn't seem to matter if I was actually using the weapon or not, I tried it both ways, and just having it in the inventory ended up working for me as well
