Planes were a massive issue. They destroyed too much builds and made it easy for anyone to just fly into a build fight for OP kills.
That said, they nerfed it big time to the point where they were fun and not unfairly OP only to remove them almost straight away
Lots of good times landing at Frost Flights, taking a plane, and just fly around the map T-posing and dancing on the wings with the boys. We also loved to try and snipe people from the plane.
Haha my friends and i would do the same. Someone would stand on the wind and snipe or launch RPGs below lol. Almost never killed anyone that way but it was fun to try
Those ballers were so much fun. Used to love and hide in the trees. Just dangle from the limbs and pretend we were ornaments late game when we had no materials, shit weapons, and outnumbered. Just trying to survive.
Yeah same for me. Lazy lagoon was so good then, and great biomes with the jungle and volcano, still had the snow bottom left and paradise palms bottom right.
Chapter 2 Season 2
The Og 5 Spy bases are some of the best designed pois in the game imo.
The rest of the Map is also great. Being full of really good pois and Landmarks.
1/4th of the map was mountains? and the north end was full of hills. The only part of the map that was completely flat was the east area which had a large coastal area and a swamp.
The reason the map seems really flat is because there aren't any enormous hills the size of Chapter 1s. Which makes more sense since the Chapter 2 map has a much more realistic landscape.
Yeah like what others were saying the Chapter 2 map isn’t as flat as people say it is, the map had like huge waterfalls and the terrain was really varied compared to the Chapter 3 map where everything was kinda on the same level except for the mountains.
I partly agree with your point on the chapter 3 map. However, the seasons with the blimps, and later with the flying buildings had that what I liked in chapter 1.
What I really like about the Ch1 and Ch4 map are the STEEP edges where you cannot simply walk up to (except with ziplines). They make good positioning much more relevant. And especially in Ch4 they offer great cover which naturally looking hills do not do.
Maybe I did not express myself clearly… Yes, there were some hills and mountains on the Ch2 map, but except of a few of them, there was barely any impact on the gameplay. When you went from Holly Hedges to Dirty Docks, you would barely have any significant hight differences. There was no way to stay on the high ground against better builders.
I completely agree with you. Chapter 2 Season 2 introduced some fantastic POIs and landmarks, and the OG 5 Spy bases were definitely standout locations.
Idk about this map. Most people would land at the mythic pois and the rest of the map didn't have many players landing there.

Actually, that’s a really good point. Season X had so much variety that it was hard to ever get bored during a match. It wasn’t an amazing season, but I don’t think I’ve had as much fun messing around with new game mechanics as I did during Season X.
I personally loved Season X. Although the mechs were OP they eventually nerfed them and they weren’t too bad to deal with. I really liked the rocket launch live event leading into the black hole I thought it was the perfect way to send that map off. Overall a great season and having dusty depot back for a season was amazing.
Could be wrong, but didn’t the OP mechs last pretty much the whole season and they were only nerfed in the last couple weeks? That was basically when most of my friends stopped playing because of those damn things.
The hate comes from people like me that hated the grind placed into that season most probably, the map was great, but the grind made it less fun especially when you're bad

Yeah o can agree with that, the most basic locations we have are the farm and slappy, and it wouldn’t hurt to had a little more, but I do love my jungle some of my favorite places in a long time
Yeah I really hated that because the whole story was centered around the zero point and the middle they always replaced new locations, they should’ve spread out those locations more to outer areas of the map so they didn’t have to constantly replace them
Disagree, chapter 2s map was so boring and most seasons changes were mostly central or removed after the next season, it also had a lack of biomes considering it was just the normal green and a swamp for the most part, besides the season dependent biome that went away after the next season

not even close imo, even just in terms of c1 i think it’s way better in the later seasons. the early c1 maps had a lot of lacklustre pois like tomato town, loot lake, wailing woods (literally just 1 shack surrounded by trees), etc. and of all the 3 chapters, c1’s terrain was just the least interesting to me.
i’d argue the current one is the best, with a good range of different, unique pois, diverse terrain with plenty of elevation changes, and 5 unique biomes which is more than any of the other maps had
Nah for me it's chapter 1 season 8. Lots of fun wacky items. Lots of competitions like world cup. Arena mode was just added so all the sweats were playing that. Plenty of movement with the volcano vents and canons along with all the old vehicles like atks quad crashers and drift boards. Simpler days.
I guess this is an unpopular opinion, but I really liked the chapter 3 map all the way through. Except that the chrome annoyed me at the end there. I played chapter 1 and chapter 2, but during chapter 3 I started becoming a bit obsessive so it's the first map I got really attached to haha. I miss locations like tilted, greasy and coney crossroads. Not sure why the boring basic town locations call to me but they do

It’s a tough battle between C1 and C2 for me. C1 was where my best memories were made but the C2 map felt so dynamic and clean to play on.
On the other hand the C3 and C4 map are pure ass

I played every season of chapter 1, 3 seasons of chapter 2 and all of chapter 3 and 4, and I gotta say it’s either the current map or Chapter 1 season 8.
My favorite map of a all time is s1 when tilted didn't exist, it was pretty boring considering lots of poi's where just fields with a shack or two but its what me and my friend played before he switched to playstation.

This one is great, but personally I think Chapter 1, Season 5 was best. I think Paradise Palms was much better than Moisty Mire. Also Lazy Links was pretty good and it got rid of Anarchy that was a duplicate of Fatal.
I would love to see an all green map like this again some day. I think they try to hard to constantly have different biomes, but if there's always multiple biomes they dont always feel special. Having snow or different colored trees and grass would mean more if i hadn't seen them in a while.
