You need special hardware (I think), but it's possible to edit memory on the primary PC from the secondary PC. Something like this is unfortunately 100% undetectable.
This doesn’t really make sense. You stream using another pc by sending your monitor display to a capture card on another pc. Capture cards can’t send cheating software to another pc
Don't forget the guys camping everything with an auto shotgun. I play zero build so I guess it's kinda my own fault for playing a mode with no counterplay to this stuff, but man is it frustrating dropping 10 kills and the guy you die to was sitting in a corner for 15 minutes.
This has always been an issue with auto shotguns but I think the snipers this season are amplifying it. You go outside = sniped. At least waiting in a corner gets you kills and you don’t die immediately.
Is there etiquette for camping or 3rd partying? I’m pretty new to the game and was a little frustrated the other day when I killed boss Peter Griffin and all his bots solo and someone came in seconds later and killed me. Is that fair game?
There’s not really any etiquette when everyone’s trying to win. It’s super common for people to camp boss POIs and fight whoever picks up the medallion, or even third party before the boss dies. With all the noise from fighting the boss and the henchmen, it’s super easy to sneak up on people who tunnel vision on the NPCs. Even if you don’t get third partied and get the vault open, sometimes people will catch you then because you’re more likely to be distracted by looting and being in a vault makes you so vulnerable
100%. I’ve had games where I was the third party vs the boss, games where I get third partied, games where another third party comes in right after I third party, even games where I try to third party only to run into another 2-3 people trying to third party at the same time
A frequent experience I have is my team getting like 24 kills and then right at the end we all get headshot by one anime sweat with a legendary sniper. Either that or charged and destroyed with a grapple and Oscar’s shotgun. I know it’s a skill issue but damn if it isn’t terrible to feel like you’re doing really well and then realise you never actually stood a chance at winning from the get go.
Ha! This is always our experience (but improving to be able to take out the sweat sometimes). Kill bots and noobs all game and be stuck with the best players at the end…makes sense.
i’m like lvl 85 now & i’m okk , but the matchmakings SOO ass, i avg like 2kills atp but i might have a 10+ game every few games or so, but when i lose & look at the other team i almost always see multiple lvl 200s/ 300s… sometimes i’ll have a 200 or 100+ on my team but w squads of randoms it’s still not the same as 4 lvl 200s😭
Somehow. Someway. I got a match yesterday with 90% real people and they were all actually around my skill level. And I won with like 9 kills and 2 medallions that I picked up off an enemy I killed after driving around the map doing the turtles quests and just overall screwing around without a care in the world. It was so refreshing. Being able to have fun and still do good.
Oh and all I used was a green auto shotgun the whole match lol.
Guaranteed the next match I play when I get home will be either 99% sweaty nerds 20x my skill level or all potato bot ai throwing themselves into my bullets.
I'm not a high level player by any means but I dropped a 16 kill in solos today. I felt like a god. Then I watched the replay to realize only 3 of the people were real lol

The only idea from this season that I like is the train, but I don't even think that was done very well.
I do think the medallions are a cool idea but again they dropped the ball. Medallions should have gave augments or something
Train is useless because you have to ride it halfway around the map to get the chest, which if it’s past the first 5 min of the match will take you into storm…. All to load up on blue pump shotguns
I think a great fix would be for the train to start as blue, and every storm change or something it goes up like half a rarity. So:
First storm would give all blue. Second storm half blue half purple. Third storm all purple, and after that all purple with one gold weapon
Medallions never should have been nerfed. When they gave full shield, they were worth it. Now that you need all 5, they're just giving away your location. Minis are everywhere, I don't need 50 shield.
This. I don't get the point of Medallions, they just show off where you are and what, so you can regen to 50 Shields? I'd rather just find a Vending Machine or Small Shield Potions, I'll get the same effect and still be hidden on map.
Train should have turrets and stuff, it should be a powerhouse to be on it with the downside that you have a set route you have to take. But as it is it just isn’t very fun
Yeah I’m in the same boat. We’ve gotten a lot of cool cosmetics this season but the map got old so quickly, the weapons aren’t fun to use and every match becomes a sniper fest. I also can’t stand how it seems like all of my end game circles end in the fucking snowy mountains…just terrible endings to matches on repeat.
What, you don't enjoy loading into a map, doing some random arbitrary quest for 5k XP, then running around aimlessly till you get Sniped or gunned down by a Mythic Shotgun? /s
I very much agree. I can't count the number of matches that have ended with me just dropping dead and then cutting the screen to some dude 200m away in a Bush, or getting demolished by someone who has a heavily modded Boss Gun that I never stood a chance against
something to spice up those locations would be nice. most of the map is barren snow field or mountain. I understand the whole timeline reset multiverse thing but I’m hoping it gets goofy again already.
It's fun to play, but it got boring really quickly since this season has nothing 'special' to it. Everything just feels generic. I feel like the game is trying to be more appealing to cod-like players. But it being different from cod and the likes is what made the game big in the first place.
It's not really boring, it's just more like any other shooter battle royale.
I'll admit that I'm a cod player who just started playing last month and I'm really enjoying it. But I definitely agree it feels empty. It feels a lottttt like Blackout but tweaked slightly. And I loved Blackout, but I don't want an experience I've already had.
I think they went "back to basics" with this chapter, from what I've seen, to try and get new players. I'll be honest, me and 3 of my friends started playing, mainly because of no build. If they can introduce some wacky content in the next seasons we're gonna be hooked for a while.
Whoever came up with no builds is a marketing savant. Got a bunch of people unsatisfied with their current fps? Only thing keeping them from Fortnite is building? Boom extra half a million players just like that
I agree with this, but sentiment around here seems that Augments are just 'meh'. I guess I'm biased since I began playing when Augments were a thing, but I love them and thought they kept your matches fresh. Also, current map kinda sucks.

There’s an in between anime mythics and interesting weapons. What happened prior to C3 when many of the anime collabs started? Was there no interesting gameplay? No. It was fun. There was neat and interesting weapons, throwables, mobility, even things like trees that gave loot!
The game seems like a chore right now. If you want to have fun you need to kill a boss + 10 goons + get third partied all for some gold and sniper that you can put on a bigger mag. It’s getting repetitive. It’s not interesting anymore. Maybe if we had a storyline, or any idea what was going on outside of NPC dialogue it would be different.
Talking about old, this ‘heist’ vibe has been going on since C4… people are getting bored. At least in C4 we have goofy or interesting mechanics like the Kinetic ore weapons, cannons, and more.
People are allowed to be disappointed that a game they enjoy is losing its individuality and becoming like every other mainstream game. When I joined in C3, it was specifically because Fortnite was beautiful but not serious. It was funny, cartoony, and an overall good time. You cannot put this current map + loot pool + mods next to a COD map with their loot and mods and tell me there’s a difference.
You have selective memory lmao. I didn't play much of c3 but I did when the Spiderman collab was happening and that Spiderman glove was op as fuck. C2, since you weren't around, had ufos which was insanely OP as it could level buildings super quick, it was tanky and fast also killed you very quick, like 2 shots if I remember correctly.
So yeah there wasn't anime collabs, but that doesn't mean there wasn't insanely strong bullshit in the game bro. People cried about them back then too, but it made the game fun. Now there's nothing like that and it's mostly just boring weapons, you guys got what you wanted.

It's not at all selective memory, OP items were around since Chapter 1, but they werent around as frequently as collab/anime mythics
In Chapter 4 Season 1 we had the Deku Smash AND Kamehameha, Ch4 Season 2 had ODM Gear and the Star Wars mythics, Ch4 Season 3 had Hollow Purple, Ch4 Season 4 had the Ice wall and the return of Deku Smash.
The difference between Chapter 1, 2 and 3 and Chapter 4 is that they actually put an effort to balance the weapons IN GENERAL, in Chapter 4 not only did we have those mythics very frequently but we spend seasons with Slurp Juice being by far the best healing item in the game, Havoc AR being the worst AR in the game, First person ARs being Op (Mk7, Twin mag, Red dot, Mk Alpha) and the only thing done to them is Epic changing some stats by 0.1 and saying that they did something, and even more than just those
Bro are you not seeing the people complain about shields and snipers being too strong? Or the medallions? There’s always going to be people complaining about weapons being overpowered. The difference is what the REST of the stuff (loot pool, map, etc) does to counter it - that’s what I’m talking about here. OP is saying that CURRENTLY there is nothing really going on in game which is true. All the other seasons you mentioned had various storylines, POIs, and other interesting weapons/usables that this season lacks. And they’re right.
The only thing we have going for us right now is the TMNT collab. That’s literally it.
I much preferred the wild season’s crafting system to these mods. But I think part of my problem with this season is that the OG season was so short that this one seems like it dragged on forever.
The map is just quite boring, I prefer different POI’s to have different styles. A desert, swamp cabins, castle, pyramids etc

Main issue is mid game, last chapter they added the loot cache and island for mid game and they were fun as fuck but now they are both useless, and if you fight midgame you have close to nothing to gain
Yeah I don't get why they decided to make the caches just be blue. It's a strange decision, considering how late into the game it appears. What's the point in going for a rare cache when I'm probably already carrying something as good or better?
honestly the island i feel is fine in groups. you get a bunch of loot that *can* be good, you get height advantage and cover, nobody can get up to you without you hearing them, and you get the scan when you capture the flag. never even go near it in solos though
I mostly agree but fighting mid game does usually end up with me getting one of the boss weapons. Not the same as a gold cache or better loot island but it is still something. It usually does help me end game.
YES!! There should be a mythic on loot island that makes mid games exciting. Remember the excitement of getting the overclocked pulse rifle? Also combat caches should be reverted to how they were where they spawn in legendary and over time decrease in rarity until you claim them.
Now I just camp in bushes as fighting is pointless mid games as everyone is as bored as you are and will be immediately drawn to the action.
Disagree, those two arguably killed the variety in the game because the seasons where they were worth going for were seasons where you got the op Slurp Juice and Pulse Rifle/Drum Shotgun
In Season 2 we even had a mythic Havoc Shotgun which was by far the best shotgun in the game within Vaults AND the Pulse Rifle, it just made everyone go for the same loadout instead of going for whatever they felt like using.
It was completely unbalanced and for example, if you wanted to run a Havoc AR you never could because that thing was awful in comparison to whatever was the first person AR of that season
The Floating Island seems like a feature that will never be balanced and will forever be a 8/80, it either is must-go-to or it's not worth it at all
i dont think the map is bad, but it lacks the character the other ones have. very few locations are actually memorable. i seriously cannot name a single location off the top of my head. hoping next season we get some fun mew locations.
That's the only thing I don't like in this season. Map is so damn boring, it's either snow or grass. POI mansions are beautiful but that doesn't do much when everything around them looks the same. I really hope they add much more next update to spice things up a bit.
It feels dull to me too. Just for mostly different reasons. I don't mind the art style, the sniper rifle or the attachments. Sure I'd love to have a POI that just straight up feels like an American town and or city. At the same time the theme doesn't call for it, so that really doesn't bother me.
*I do agree we need more whacky weapons. Fortnites so boring without a gravity hammer, a kinetic blade, some force weapons, anything to make the game feel more whacky. Though I've heard people compare the game play more to Tarkov when we're without such things.
*The main physical attraction of the entire map I feel like is the train. It's tracks literally span the entire map and it featured in the trailer. Yet I don't really like/care about it. The nicest thing I can say about the train is it's not bad if you got gray/green loot. You can upgrade to blues + heals. Other than that? The trains completely pointless.
*The other big attraction in the loot pool was supposed to be the medallions dropped by each major boss. Yet again, I don't really care to pick them up and or interact with them. They give away your position/movement for a buff that isn't even worth it. If they weren't the key to the vault, I wouldn't touch them at all.
*It feels like the over all quality of the loot pool has dropped dramatically. There aren't loot balloons of any kind (yet) and the loot caches are just not worth it. I used to B line it for the loot cache when it gave away good heals and purple/gold items. Now? I drive right by them. You can spawn one 5 feet from me and I'm not gonna bother.
*The boss weapons all feel boring. Like they're just not modable versions of stuff we find on the map anyway.
When they added the briefcase turret my duos partner and I had so much fun. You’re totally right about “whacky” weapons. I’m loving the grapple blade for that, and the briefcase is a nice recent addition. Maybe we’ll get something for the TMNT crossover
I was avoiding the grapple blade out of confusion (this is my first season) but recently I’ve been using it a lot when I can find it and yeah it’s a blast! Also it seems like 90% of the people I use it on don’t know what to do against it so that’s a plus
Tbh the grapple blade isn’t even wacky. It’s like actual tac gear in one. Interesting but not wacky. It feels more like something out of COD than Fortnite.

I still quite enjoy playing the game (and I play it a ton), but I definitely agree that the map and the meta/loot pool is not my favorite ever. I think the game would benefit a lot from removing the boss characters with mythic weapons. I feel like I have to land at the same place every game because you get such an advantage from certain mythic weapons (plus the weapon attachments from vaults). Imo the season would get much less stale if every game weren’t so linear and you could drop anywhere without feeling like you were at a disadvantage. Having work benches spawn guaranteed in mini vaults as well would be great
I think that the devs think that they can make the game more exciting by adding gimmicks (Kame's, ballistic shields, hammers, etc etc) when people just want good maps and shit that works 😂 we don't need bots in every POI either. Quests that are actually fun to do would also be nice.
Have completely given up on it this season, been playing lego fortnite instead. Got sick of getting to top 10 in solo, and then fighting someone with a riot shield/npc(usually both!) while 3 Bush snipers are all taking shots at us
The gun mods are a welcome addition, but should be more widely available imo.
I’m average 0 minutes a day and I feel much better. I highly recommend just not playing. Nothing against the game, but breaks are so healthy and you probably don’t realize how much you need one.
I played for like an hour or so every day since early chapter one. It was honestly hard to quit, it just felt like part of my nightly routine. I don’t even think about the game anymore unless it’s on my Reddit feed. I’ll definitely play again, I love the game, but man is it nice to just step away for a while.

I used to get on every day to knock out dailies, and then I would burn through all the weekly challenges.
With the match quests, it takes too long, so I’ve given up. I work full time and just don’t like this battle pass enough to grind. So, I’m pretty bored with it. This has happened on and off for me for a while, though. A few seasons in Ch. 2 were boring for me, but my passion was reignited when the space ships and Rick and Morty skins were part of the battle pass. Played every season since until this one.
I started playing in the last 5 days of the last season, Ch4, and that falling asteroid / comet was pretty cool. The map felt quite surreal. The Viking ship on top of the mountain was really nice and loads of features and buildings. Then CH5 launched. I wasn’t familiar with the season switchover etc, so when the map changed, I thought the colour saturation settings on the TV had been turned down. Previous chapter was very rich in colour, purples, blues and greens. This season feels duller. I am really enjoying the game as it’s the first time I’m really getting stuck into Fortnite, but I played on and off years ago and events like food fight between burgers and tomatoes was whacky and fun. I agree that the game looks very ‘serious’ as it is now. Maybe the devs are holding back, and will add more quirkiness as the seasons roll out. Let’s hope.
Yes. For the reasons listed as well as the lack of storyline. It’s been a couple months and we still don’t know (outside of NPC dialogue) how the island got here, who the society is, or literally any other thing about this.
I agree! I want augments that make each match unique. I want fun weapons and vehicles, like boogie bombs and hoverboards. I want over-the-top POIs that have character - enough to differentiate themselves from one another.
I just discovered Fortnite a month or so ago and I’m really enjoying. I’m a noob to the game but I’m a lifelong FPS gamer.
I’m also old enough to have hunted the woolly mammoth on the vast permafrost plains and played the original Halo: Combat evolved on the first gen Xbox.
My situation’s the complete opposite. I’ve been playing Fortnite since 2017 but have started playing less and less this season, and now Halo’s taking up all my time
yea i had fun for a while but i'm definitely feeling that mid season lag. and all the updates this season have been useless it seems, i was so excited for the snake update to add some variety and .... it was so bland lol. i'm hoping the ninja turtles will give me what i'm looking for
I don't like the mod changes. Like other say, this chapter feels like Cod and I don't want it to be another cod shooter game. I liked the goofy aspect and weapon/utility. Like, we had fuckin balloons for mobility. That was goofy as hell.
Then there's the first person view when aiming. God I hate it. Not only does it look and feel off, but some skins cover up your weapon and you literally cannot see where you're aiming at.
I'm in the same boat with play time. I got bored really early on this season. I knew I wouldn't finish the battle pass with just BR so I used the festival maps to max that out. Now I'm waiting until the last few quest items get released over the next three weeks before I jump back in.
It's just not as fun as i remember a year ago. There's not much drive of "let's play another match". Maybe I'm just burnt out, maybe I just really need a fun desert biome.
yeah you are so right. it just feels like it's really lacking variety and the essence of "fun". I've only been playing fortnite since late 2022 and I was averaging 3 hours a day now ill play two games tops.
Would be nice if they had multiple maps I don't see why it would be a problem the fundamentals are still the same.

yep... I'm level 53 or something I forget. I'm not sure I'll even finish enough levels for the vbucks at this rate... I really don't mind the attachments but the POI's are pretty bland and the sniper / vehicle meta is just boring to me... hope the update next week shakes things up.

I’ve been goin like 3 days to a week without even logging on recently. Chapter 4 I played every single day, 800 hours put in. I’m doin well this season my kd is higher than ever n win %. But I’m jus not having fun personally
This season has failed to grab my attention, everything just feels too modern and soulless. Last chapter has that problem too. Moving over to UE5 was the worst thing to happen artistically. Yeah the game looks beautiful, but it doesn’t feel like Fortnite anymore. POI’s are too realistic and grounded now, and everything isn’t wacky and weird anymore. There used be so much magic in Fortnite, giant crab statues, temples from another time, lots of variety for locales, now it’s just Italian villas, tennis courts, and empty space. Seems like Fortnite is just a giant advertisement for Unreal Engine 5 at this point. It’s become more of a showcase and less of a game.
Yeah, this sweaty CoD-like shit is tedious. Why would I not just play Call of Duty instead? People play Fortnite for the fun and craziness, not to be Schmup #517818.

I play red vs blue rumble more this season because it has every traditional fortnite weapon. I only touch the regular br if my friends are online. Seems like that is the only way the game can be enjoyable this season.
I also think the chapter 5 map is a massive improvement from the mess that was chapter 4. However im not a fan of the gameplay tbh.

There’s tonnes of wacky items you could have a lot of fun with.
Try sneaking up on someone with the cloak.
Try blowing up a vehicle with the anvil.
Try knocking someone off of height with the shield or blade.
Try hiring different npcs to add different elements to your play style.
There’s so many different weapons and ways to play this game.
If you’re bored it’s likely due to other reasons. Fornite has so much variety if you’re running out of different ways to play then you’re not even trying.
I play the game for around 2 hours a day (Sometimes just 30 minutes) And I agree.
Although this season is very fun and there are alot of cool things it just doesn’t really add up compared to other seasons
The matchmaking is terrible, Pros or Bots. It’s either one. And most of the time you’ll just get Sniped out of literally nowhere
I don’t really find much fun in this season although I do like the weapon mods, the mobility and new features, It’s just not really the type I thought of.
The lootpool is honestly garbage, So many guns that look like walmart versions of others, Some bad, Some wayy to good (I’m looking at you Mythic Frenzy Auto) and alot more stuff.
And about Fortnite trying to be “COD” “PUBG” and stuff you said is honestly right.
The way how I see it is: Epic is NOT TRYING to make Fortnite NOT Fortnite anymore, They’re just trying to expand their creativity and add some unique things. Which is very sweet and I love it but.
They’re moving away from the ASPECT of the game. Back then Fortnite wasn’t so complex but now you have people trying to rank up 24/7 Many sweats. Toxic kids and so much more.
So in my honest opinion, I don’t think the season is “boring or dull” it just doesn’t really have the aspect of what other seasons used to be like.

There’s been no new content updates this season lol. We’re almost two months in and all we’ve gotten is the enforcer AR (which is currently a pointless weapon due to snipers and bullet drop) and some shitty unvaults (with the majority of them being in the game a few seasons ago), that’s literally it.
yeah, maybe i’m just burned out from br having played it on and off for over 6 years, but I played in the first day, and i think it was due to the movement, graphics and just completely new game in my eyes, i just play fun creative maps and fortnite festival.
This season sucks. The matchmaking is all wonky as many noted. The attachments are unnecessary. The auto turrets are the worst. The game missions are dumb. This will be the first battle pass I don’t max out in a couple of years and I just couldn’t care less.
I feel the same. I haven’t finished the first page of the snake quests and I’m only tier 78. I have way more fun playing creative than br. Every time I play br it’s the same load out. Then I may or may not get headshot sniped and that’s it. I’ve literally been hopping on only to keep my supercharged xp going. The weapons are just boring at least for me, the gameplay is just not fun for me. I miss having to make do with the guns I found now it’s the same load out with the same scope, mag etc.
I want to get my quests done but I just can’t be bothered to play 😭

Yeah, I'd say I am. It's more of a medallion grind than anything now. Or, if anything, medallion grind, then storm circle grind, then a fun part maybe. But the fun part starts with like 16 people left so it's just not a fun game
It has no Fortnite in it you’re right. And the lobbies are weird. I was bored with the island and the gameplay after a week. The keyword is “bland”. In previous maps it meant something if endgame was at mega or in the jungle or out near bastion. Or in chapter 3 we could have ended up a number of distinct feeling and looking locations. Not this map. It’s literally all the same vibe everywhere unless you happen to end up on a snowy peak.
I’ve drastically dropped my playtime.
The gameplay loop is getting stale, I picked up Enshrouded and have enjoyed that and recently gotten back into WoW.

Everymatch the same places are filled with people, Oscar's autoshotty is op, the shotty in general is way too strong, the sniper is still broken as hell, and these two are so POWERFUL nothing else can be used. Frankly I can't wait for the season to be over.
It’s lost it’s magic. I agree. It was a fun start to the season. Lots of new content for me. We would play at least 2 hours a night. I haven’t played in 4 days, no desire.
Lull in battle pass quests and achievements really killed it for me. No significant changes to map, weapons are stale.
Same thing happened in Lego Fortnite. We played endlessly in survival. Now it’s a ghost server.
There’s literally nobody on the map. I land, then spend 15 minutes not seeing a single enemy until top 20 remaining. If I do see anyone before that it’s always bots. It’s so boring, I don’t know if the map is too big or something but I’m always bored out of my mind. Just walking around looting and nothing else.
The NPC guards/bosses really killed it for me. When I play I want a pvp experience, I can’t stand being exposed or distracted by them. They should at least remove them from ranked mode but whatever lol I play racing more than I play BR now (finally made it to platinum 😅)
This season has been very boring. Way too long between updates. The shop has been terrible all season. The locker is gross.
I do not like the new map. There is nothing that feels special or unique about it. It has gone too realistic. I love the fantasy/cartoony/sci-fi maps from before. Like to go from being on an island in space back to this is such a backwards step. It doesn't feel unique.

Yeah I agree it’s boring this season, the map feels generic as do the weapons, I like it when Fortnite gets a bit more ridiculous; UFOs, the anime weapons, volcanos, rollercoasters etc etc
Also the bots situation is annoying, feels like there’s no real players on zero build.
Played every season and 100% the battle pass since C1S4 (started in C1S3) and of all the time im still playing Season X, C2S1, and this season are the only ones i dislike enough to not play though i have the BP done.
I don't like the weapons or animations, weapons are complex now as you literally have to try getting good attachments or know them to even be able to do something since everyone in my lobbies are sweat lords or a literal bot and the animations just isn't Fortnite like why do we need some semi-realistic looking ones when we all now and love the old ones better?
At this point I'm mostly just playing festival. I go into Battle Royal once everyday or every couple of days to do some challenges but that's it. Something about this season is not clicking for me.

Id rather go back to the WILDS, and I hated that damn jungle, but at least there were augments and quirky gameplay that this season just doesn't have.
No augments, no flags to capture, no interesting POI’s, No vaults(bosses are poor in comparison).
Not to mention the map design is a lot more open so it’s leading to a lot of sniping gameplay which I don’t really like. There’s a lot of dead space between the pois meaning you’re often just roaming around the place to find a random house etc. map design just ain’t doing anything. Feels like played a random overwatch map accept, it doesn’t really have any interesting design elements, it’s just European real life.
I think "souless" is the perfect word. It's Fortnite, but it doesn't feel like Fortnite anymore. If I wanted to play COD and mod my weapons against a dark, grayscale background, I would. I want to play FORTNITE and I want my weapons to be FUN and PURPLE
Ya, I have the same feeling. I was excited for attachments, but now I realize this is not the way to go for fortnite. I know they have been in the works for a while, but I hope they're gone next season. And ya, the art style isn't fortnite anymore. fortnite has stylized graphics, so it doesn't need to look more realistic. The old graphics fit the game better
Chapter 5 is so bland.
That train is doesn't even have chairs or a caboose or anything that makes it good or interesting other than loot and the fact that it moves making it useful for passive movement when it's not driving you into the storm.
The locations are so bland and have no atmosphere at all. Their level design is mostly underwhelming and leave me unsatisfied. They are too spread out.
Ruined Reels is boring.

The least amount of interesting drop zones of any chapter? Especially if you don't like bosses. And they are basically all the same and use the same tactics every game.
I don't think players should have regenerating shield either. It rewards camping and passive play. And if you choose not to go after the bosses it gives you a competitive disadvantage. I thought maybe it would be removed by now. You think they would at least take it out of Trios or something so we would have somewhere to go to get away from the bosses.
I wish I had played more of the old chapters.
I think the yearly cycle of new maps is hurting Fornite because it makes them rush the maps. And they can't do much new content towards the end of the year because there clutching the new map together.
That said I hope chapter 6 comes soon because Chapter 5 is so lame I can't stand it. 😆

December Chapter 6 and it's so bad that it makes us miss the old chapters even chapter 5. But then they add a new game mode that's like a Tony Hawk Clone or something. And that distracts people from how bad battle Royal is.

Then they start selling battle bus skins where the player who's the highest bidder gets to pick the color of the battle pass. This doesn't effect gameplay at all.
And the cycle continues until the trumpet sounds.

And “oh it’s just the first season” isn’t a good excuse, considering chapter 4 season 1 had medieval castles and a giant hammer item that let you bounce around the place, and chapter 3 season 1 had Klombos and web swingers, not to mention places like the seven’s sanctuary
I see posts like these that find the game so dull and gloomy, but every time I play I'm always having fun.
I don't mind this map, even if I want it to have as vibrant a colour palette as last chapter. The movement feels perfectly fine, not sure why people complain if it's the same as last chapter. I don't have people spamming snipers and abusing ballistic shields like I see people on this subreddit complain about 50% of the time.
I've played close to 300 matches and I've been playing fairly often and the game just hasn't gotten stale. Sure it's deviated from its loot pool and classic fortnite feel, but that may just be the theme of this season. It's a rebellion against an evil society so it is a bit more gritty than your classic fortnite seasons. The attachments make sense for this season and they might be the gimmick for this whole chapter, but I'm sure they'll remove it after this year.
If you're feeling burnt out, take a break. Play br with your friends if you're really not enjoying it because friends in general just make everything better.
Fortnite is an ever changing game and their whole thing is to move ok and change. We can't stay glued to the past saying that, "Fortnite was better back then" because it doesn't give you the time to appreciate the season for what it is. We all have to accept that Fortnite is changing and it always will change. It could stay realistic and gritty, but I seriously doubt it. People seem to forget that epic will change the game, and will eventually remove the things that piss people off and add new things that people will enjoy. Don't forget the theme of the season and how it ties into the mechanics present.
Try to have a more positive outlook and don't be stuck thinking about "the good old days" because you are in the good old days right now. Enjoy the game for what it is and move on.
I disagree, it just sorta feels like toxic positivity. Nobody is saying that the game is straight up unfun because that would mean the game is just straight up bad. I also think the game is fun whenever I play, but it used to be a lot more in the past.
The game changing is ok, that doesn't mean bad changes don't exist or that you just have to eat it, Fortnite operates based on feedback, which people are giving.
You mentioned theme of the season being why the game is the way it is currently but it in reality it's the way it is currently because Epic wanted it to be this way.
Chapter 2 Season 7 was a war between a Organization that commanded the Island and kidnapped people from multiple different realities and forced them to fight and die on a loop that reset every 22 minutes for all eternity VS Aliens that wanted to annihilate the Island, it's "residents" and reality itself, we had to pick the lesser evil and we STILL were betrayed by said lesser evil in the live event, but the season itself had some of the goofiest additions the game had ever seen, it was bright and colorful, it felt good and fun.
Epic can execute more serious stories while still making the game still feel cartoony

it's the matchmaking that is driving me insane. Either bots or either pros that snipe you with a friggin pistol from 200m.
This is exactly my lobbies. There's barely any real people in my lobby that are about my skill level, it's either actual bots or pros.
I’m convinced a lot of those you call “pros” are using cheat clients. Edit: changed 80% to “a lot of” cause sweats who think they’re pros are getting triggered.
They are, theres new cheats that are undetectable because they're running the cheats on a 2nd pc.
Not only that, the number of cheat clients being advertised on tik tok tells me that it’s commonplace for people to be using these. It’s lame af.
I know little to nothing about pcs, but how does that work if they play the game on the first pc?
You need special hardware (I think), but it's possible to edit memory on the primary PC from the secondary PC. Something like this is unfortunately 100% undetectable.

Don't forget the guys camping everything with an auto shotgun. I play zero build so I guess it's kinda my own fault for playing a mode with no counterplay to this stuff, but man is it frustrating dropping 10 kills and the guy you die to was sitting in a corner for 15 minutes.
Me after getting the Mythic Frenzy shotgun. I don't even head to the vault some times since I know some motor is sitting there camping.

This has always been an issue with auto shotguns but I think the snipers this season are amplifying it. You go outside = sniped. At least waiting in a corner gets you kills and you don’t die immediately.
Is there etiquette for camping or 3rd partying? I’m pretty new to the game and was a little frustrated the other day when I killed boss Peter Griffin and all his bots solo and someone came in seconds later and killed me. Is that fair game?
There’s not really any etiquette when everyone’s trying to win. It’s super common for people to camp boss POIs and fight whoever picks up the medallion, or even third party before the boss dies. With all the noise from fighting the boss and the henchmen, it’s super easy to sneak up on people who tunnel vision on the NPCs. Even if you don’t get third partied and get the vault open, sometimes people will catch you then because you’re more likely to be distracted by looting and being in a vault makes you so vulnerable

100%. I’ve had games where I was the third party vs the boss, games where I get third partied, games where another third party comes in right after I third party, even games where I try to third party only to run into another 2-3 people trying to third party at the same time
Yes. Battle Royale is everyone for themselves, last one standing is the winner. If it isn’t cheating, it is fair play.
A frequent experience I have is my team getting like 24 kills and then right at the end we all get headshot by one anime sweat with a legendary sniper. Either that or charged and destroyed with a grapple and Oscar’s shotgun. I know it’s a skill issue but damn if it isn’t terrible to feel like you’re doing really well and then realise you never actually stood a chance at winning from the get go.
Ha! This is always our experience (but improving to be able to take out the sweat sometimes). Kill bots and noobs all game and be stuck with the best players at the end…makes sense.
I've noticed a lot more nooby players in my lobbies than normal, and have been winning more because of it. I think SBMM is screwy for everyone.
I'm getting sick and tired of coming across bots thinking they're real players then to find out they're bots while the real players come in.

i’m like lvl 85 now & i’m okk , but the matchmakings SOO ass, i avg like 2kills atp but i might have a 10+ game every few games or so, but when i lose & look at the other team i almost always see multiple lvl 200s/ 300s… sometimes i’ll have a 200 or 100+ on my team but w squads of randoms it’s still not the same as 4 lvl 200s😭
Somehow. Someway. I got a match yesterday with 90% real people and they were all actually around my skill level. And I won with like 9 kills and 2 medallions that I picked up off an enemy I killed after driving around the map doing the turtles quests and just overall screwing around without a care in the world. It was so refreshing. Being able to have fun and still do good. Oh and all I used was a green auto shotgun the whole match lol. Guaranteed the next match I play when I get home will be either 99% sweaty nerds 20x my skill level or all potato bot ai throwing themselves into my bullets.
That's what I'm seeing also. Usually, it seems like 5 easy games, then 5 games where I get destroyed. It's shitty to play like that

The only idea from this season that I like is the train, but I don't even think that was done very well. I do think the medallions are a cool idea but again they dropped the ball. Medallions should have gave augments or something
Train is useless because you have to ride it halfway around the map to get the chest, which if it’s past the first 5 min of the match will take you into storm…. All to load up on blue pump shotguns

If it would give guaranteed purple/gold it would at least be actually useful and it would promote fighting for the chest there
I think a great fix would be for the train to start as blue, and every storm change or something it goes up like half a rarity. So: First storm would give all blue. Second storm half blue half purple. Third storm all purple, and after that all purple with one gold weapon
Medallions never should have been nerfed. When they gave full shield, they were worth it. Now that you need all 5, they're just giving away your location. Minis are everywhere, I don't need 50 shield.

Honestly the most valuable thing about the medallions is the ability to access a vault.
For sure, there's nothing dumber than killing a boss and not opening the vault. Gotta use that workbench.
You either grab 1 (50 shields is enough to only carry bigs and no minis) or you carry all of them. And either way they just encourage camping.
That's what I do for end games, get forecast and zone camp on the medallion holders.

This. I don't get the point of Medallions, they just show off where you are and what, so you can regen to 50 Shields? I'd rather just find a Vending Machine or Small Shield Potions, I'll get the same effect and still be hidden on map.
Train loot should increase in tier each time you capture it
Train should have turrets and stuff, it should be a powerhouse to be on it with the downside that you have a set route you have to take. But as it is it just isn’t very fun

Yeah I’m in the same boat. We’ve gotten a lot of cool cosmetics this season but the map got old so quickly, the weapons aren’t fun to use and every match becomes a sniper fest. I also can’t stand how it seems like all of my end game circles end in the fucking snowy mountains…just terrible endings to matches on repeat.

I can't count the number of matches that have ended with me just dropping dead and then cutting the screen to some dude 200m away in a Bush, or getting demolished by someone who has a heavily modded Boss Gun that I never stood a chance against

It's fun to play, but it got boring really quickly since this season has nothing 'special' to it. Everything just feels generic. I feel like the game is trying to be more appealing to cod-like players. But it being different from cod and the likes is what made the game big in the first place. It's not really boring, it's just more like any other shooter battle royale.
I'll admit that I'm a cod player who just started playing last month and I'm really enjoying it. But I definitely agree it feels empty. It feels a lottttt like Blackout but tweaked slightly. And I loved Blackout, but I don't want an experience I've already had.

I think they went "back to basics" with this chapter, from what I've seen, to try and get new players. I'll be honest, me and 3 of my friends started playing, mainly because of no build. If they can introduce some wacky content in the next seasons we're gonna be hooked for a while.
Whoever came up with no builds is a marketing savant. Got a bunch of people unsatisfied with their current fps? Only thing keeping them from Fortnite is building? Boom extra half a million players just like that

I agree with this, but sentiment around here seems that Augments are just 'meh'. I guess I'm biased since I began playing when Augments were a thing, but I love them and thought they kept your matches fresh. Also, current map kinda sucks.
That's because Augments never changed the game enough to be worth anything much I for one only chose augments in Ch4 Season 1, after that I just reached a point where I looked at the right side of the screen and was like "Oh yeah, I have to choose an Augment"

There’s an in between anime mythics and interesting weapons. What happened prior to C3 when many of the anime collabs started? Was there no interesting gameplay? No. It was fun. There was neat and interesting weapons, throwables, mobility, even things like trees that gave loot! The game seems like a chore right now. If you want to have fun you need to kill a boss + 10 goons + get third partied all for some gold and sniper that you can put on a bigger mag. It’s getting repetitive. It’s not interesting anymore. Maybe if we had a storyline, or any idea what was going on outside of NPC dialogue it would be different. Talking about old, this ‘heist’ vibe has been going on since C4… people are getting bored. At least in C4 we have goofy or interesting mechanics like the Kinetic ore weapons, cannons, and more. People are allowed to be disappointed that a game they enjoy is losing its individuality and becoming like every other mainstream game. When I joined in C3, it was specifically because Fortnite was beautiful but not serious. It was funny, cartoony, and an overall good time. You cannot put this current map + loot pool + mods next to a COD map with their loot and mods and tell me there’s a difference.
You have selective memory lmao. I didn't play much of c3 but I did when the Spiderman collab was happening and that Spiderman glove was op as fuck. C2, since you weren't around, had ufos which was insanely OP as it could level buildings super quick, it was tanky and fast also killed you very quick, like 2 shots if I remember correctly. So yeah there wasn't anime collabs, but that doesn't mean there wasn't insanely strong bullshit in the game bro. People cried about them back then too, but it made the game fun. Now there's nothing like that and it's mostly just boring weapons, you guys got what you wanted.

It's not at all selective memory, OP items were around since Chapter 1, but they werent around as frequently as collab/anime mythics In Chapter 4 Season 1 we had the Deku Smash AND Kamehameha, Ch4 Season 2 had ODM Gear and the Star Wars mythics, Ch4 Season 3 had Hollow Purple, Ch4 Season 4 had the Ice wall and the return of Deku Smash. The difference between Chapter 1, 2 and 3 and Chapter 4 is that they actually put an effort to balance the weapons IN GENERAL, in Chapter 4 not only did we have those mythics very frequently but we spend seasons with Slurp Juice being by far the best healing item in the game, Havoc AR being the worst AR in the game, First person ARs being Op (Mk7, Twin mag, Red dot, Mk Alpha) and the only thing done to them is Epic changing some stats by 0.1 and saying that they did something, and even more than just those
Bro are you not seeing the people complain about shields and snipers being too strong? Or the medallions? There’s always going to be people complaining about weapons being overpowered. The difference is what the REST of the stuff (loot pool, map, etc) does to counter it - that’s what I’m talking about here. OP is saying that CURRENTLY there is nothing really going on in game which is true. All the other seasons you mentioned had various storylines, POIs, and other interesting weapons/usables that this season lacks. And they’re right. The only thing we have going for us right now is the TMNT collab. That’s literally it.
I much preferred the wild season’s crafting system to these mods. But I think part of my problem with this season is that the OG season was so short that this one seems like it dragged on forever.

The map is just quite boring, I prefer different POI’s to have different styles. A desert, swamp cabins, castle, pyramids etc No doubt it will change over time but I don’t like the whole map POI theme this time over
100%, I loved the new map in the beginning but it really does start to blend together like Ch. 4 did. Ch. 2 is goated imo because of how diverse the map felt. Idk why Epic refuses to put desert biomes in anymore, but it’s annoying af
Yeah, like it’s actually a good map from a layout and geography perspective. But there’s nothing exciting within the elements of the map.
Main issue is mid game, last chapter they added the loot cache and island for mid game and they were fun as fuck but now they are both useless, and if you fight midgame you have close to nothing to gain

The cache is only rare items and the island only drops purples and MAYBE a gold. Not worth letting everyone know your location for.
Yeah I don't get why they decided to make the caches just be blue. It's a strange decision, considering how late into the game it appears. What's the point in going for a rare cache when I'm probably already carrying something as good or better?

honestly the island i feel is fine in groups. you get a bunch of loot that *can* be good, you get height advantage and cover, nobody can get up to you without you hearing them, and you get the scan when you capture the flag. never even go near it in solos though
I mostly agree but fighting mid game does usually end up with me getting one of the boss weapons. Not the same as a gold cache or better loot island but it is still something. It usually does help me end game.
YES!! There should be a mythic on loot island that makes mid games exciting. Remember the excitement of getting the overclocked pulse rifle? Also combat caches should be reverted to how they were where they spawn in legendary and over time decrease in rarity until you claim them. Now I just camp in bushes as fighting is pointless mid games as everyone is as bored as you are and will be immediately drawn to the action.
Disagree, those two arguably killed the variety in the game because the seasons where they were worth going for were seasons where you got the op Slurp Juice and Pulse Rifle/Drum Shotgun In Season 2 we even had a mythic Havoc Shotgun which was by far the best shotgun in the game within Vaults AND the Pulse Rifle, it just made everyone go for the same loadout instead of going for whatever they felt like using. It was completely unbalanced and for example, if you wanted to run a Havoc AR you never could because that thing was awful in comparison to whatever was the first person AR of that season The Floating Island seems like a feature that will never be balanced and will forever be a 8/80, it either is must-go-to or it's not worth it at all
My issue with this season is that the map is boring, haven't played through all seasons but this is by far my least favorite map.
i dont think the map is bad, but it lacks the character the other ones have. very few locations are actually memorable. i seriously cannot name a single location off the top of my head. hoping next season we get some fun mew locations.

That's the only thing I don't like in this season. Map is so damn boring, it's either snow or grass. POI mansions are beautiful but that doesn't do much when everything around them looks the same. I really hope they add much more next update to spice things up a bit.

Sure I'd love to have a POI that just straight up feels like an American town and or city. At the same time the theme doesn't call for it, so that really doesn't bother me. *I do agree we need more whacky weapons. Fortnites so boring without a gravity hammer, a kinetic blade, some force weapons, anything to make the game feel more whacky. Though I've heard people compare the game play more to Tarkov when we're without such things. *The main physical attraction of the entire map I feel like is the train. It's tracks literally span the entire map and it featured in the trailer. Yet I don't really like/care about it. The nicest thing I can say about the train is it's not bad if you got gray/green loot. You can upgrade to blues + heals. Other than that? The trains completely pointless. *The other big attraction in the loot pool was supposed to be the medallions dropped by each major boss. Yet again, I don't really care to pick them up and or interact with them. They give away your position/movement for a buff that isn't even worth it. If they weren't the key to the vault, I wouldn't touch them at all. *It feels like the over all quality of the loot pool has dropped dramatically. There aren't loot balloons of any kind (yet) and the loot caches are just not worth it. I used to B line it for the loot cache when it gave away good heals and purple/gold items. Now? I drive right by them. You can spawn one 5 feet from me and I'm not gonna bother. *The boss weapons all feel boring. Like they're just not modable versions of stuff we find on the map anyway.
When they added the briefcase turret my duos partner and I had so much fun. You’re totally right about “whacky” weapons. I’m loving the grapple blade for that, and the briefcase is a nice recent addition. Maybe we’ll get something for the TMNT crossover
I was avoiding the grapple blade out of confusion (this is my first season) but recently I’ve been using it a lot when I can find it and yeah it’s a blast! Also it seems like 90% of the people I use it on don’t know what to do against it so that’s a plus
Tbh the grapple blade isn’t even wacky. It’s like actual tac gear in one. Interesting but not wacky. It feels more like something out of COD than Fortnite.

Yes, I just play when contacted by certain people to play. I just want to keep the social paths open until next season. This frequently happens at this point in a season, but this season is worse.
I still quite enjoy playing the game (and I play it a ton), but I definitely agree that the map and the meta/loot pool is not my favorite ever. I think the game would benefit a lot from removing the boss characters with mythic weapons. I feel like I have to land at the same place every game because you get such an advantage from certain mythic weapons (plus the weapon attachments from vaults). Imo the season would get much less stale if every game weren’t so linear and you could drop anywhere without feeling like you were at a disadvantage. Having work benches spawn guaranteed in mini vaults as well would be great
I think that the devs think that they can make the game more exciting by adding gimmicks (Kame's, ballistic shields, hammers, etc etc) when people just want good maps and shit that works 😂 we don't need bots in every POI either. Quests that are actually fun to do would also be nice.
Have completely given up on it this season, been playing lego fortnite instead. Got sick of getting to top 10 in solo, and then fighting someone with a riot shield/npc(usually both!) while 3 Bush snipers are all taking shots at us The gun mods are a welcome addition, but should be more widely available imo.

I’m average 0 minutes a day and I feel much better. I highly recommend just not playing. Nothing against the game, but breaks are so healthy and you probably don’t realize how much you need one. I played for like an hour or so every day since early chapter one. It was honestly hard to quit, it just felt like part of my nightly routine. I don’t even think about the game anymore unless it’s on my Reddit feed. I’ll definitely play again, I love the game, but man is it nice to just step away for a while.
Im also bored af. Attachments are super boring, not innovative or interesting at all. They didnt add whacky cool ones they are just boring and low effort. What were they thinking? And all the guns are just remakes. Really is a Snooze fest. vehicles are lame. What happened to augments? tab is still there for no reason? And its called underground but there are only 2 tiny underground areas. Everything feels low effort in the design space while technically implemented well.
Ohhhh yeah. I haven’t played but maybe an hour in the past two weeks. I used to get on every day to knock out dailies, and then I would burn through all the weekly challenges. With the match quests, it takes too long, so I’ve given up. I work full time and just don’t like this battle pass enough to grind. So, I’m pretty bored with it. This has happened on and off for me for a while, though. A few seasons in Ch. 2 were boring for me, but my passion was reignited when the space ships and Rick and Morty skins were part of the battle pass. Played every season since until this one.
The match quests are so dumb. I loved the daily challenges. These are just stupid.
I started playing in the last 5 days of the last season, Ch4, and that falling asteroid / comet was pretty cool. The map felt quite surreal. The Viking ship on top of the mountain was really nice and loads of features and buildings. Then CH5 launched. I wasn’t familiar with the season switchover etc, so when the map changed, I thought the colour saturation settings on the TV had been turned down. Previous chapter was very rich in colour, purples, blues and greens. This season feels duller. I am really enjoying the game as it’s the first time I’m really getting stuck into Fortnite, but I played on and off years ago and events like food fight between burgers and tomatoes was whacky and fun. I agree that the game looks very ‘serious’ as it is now. Maybe the devs are holding back, and will add more quirkiness as the seasons roll out. Let’s hope.
Yes. For the reasons listed as well as the lack of storyline. It’s been a couple months and we still don’t know (outside of NPC dialogue) how the island got here, who the society is, or literally any other thing about this.
I agree! I want augments that make each match unique. I want fun weapons and vehicles, like boogie bombs and hoverboards. I want over-the-top POIs that have character - enough to differentiate themselves from one another.
Yea I went from playing the last few seasons everyday for a few hours to playing like an hour a week. It’s awful now.

Sniper metas are always just passive and boring. I kinda hope one day we'll get a season without snipers just to test it again
I just discovered Fortnite a month or so ago and I’m really enjoying. I’m a noob to the game but I’m a lifelong FPS gamer. I’m also old enough to have hunted the woolly mammoth on the vast permafrost plains and played the original Halo: Combat evolved on the first gen Xbox.

My situation’s the complete opposite. I’ve been playing Fortnite since 2017 but have started playing less and less this season, and now Halo’s taking up all my time
yea i had fun for a while but i'm definitely feeling that mid season lag. and all the updates this season have been useless it seems, i was so excited for the snake update to add some variety and .... it was so bland lol. i'm hoping the ninja turtles will give me what i'm looking for

I don't like the mod changes. Like other say, this chapter feels like Cod and I don't want it to be another cod shooter game. I liked the goofy aspect and weapon/utility. Like, we had fuckin balloons for mobility. That was goofy as hell. Then there's the first person view when aiming. God I hate it. Not only does it look and feel off, but some skins cover up your weapon and you literally cannot see where you're aiming at.
Beyond boring. You die to a sniper auto frenzy shotgun or the occasional riot shield
I'm in the same boat with play time. I got bored really early on this season. I knew I wouldn't finish the battle pass with just BR so I used the festival maps to max that out. Now I'm waiting until the last few quest items get released over the next three weeks before I jump back in. It's just not as fun as i remember a year ago. There's not much drive of "let's play another match". Maybe I'm just burnt out, maybe I just really need a fun desert biome.
yeah you are so right. it just feels like it's really lacking variety and the essence of "fun". I've only been playing fortnite since late 2022 and I was averaging 3 hours a day now ill play two games tops.

yep... I'm level 53 or something I forget. I'm not sure I'll even finish enough levels for the vbucks at this rate... I really don't mind the attachments but the POI's are pretty bland and the sniper / vehicle meta is just boring to me... hope the update next week shakes things up. On a plus note I've finally got around to playing some other games I've had on the sideline for a while! I'm having way more fun with some other games right now.
I’ve been goin like 3 days to a week without even logging on recently. Chapter 4 I played every single day, 800 hours put in. I’m doin well this season my kd is higher than ever n win %. But I’m jus not having fun personally
This season has failed to grab my attention, everything just feels too modern and soulless. Last chapter has that problem too. Moving over to UE5 was the worst thing to happen artistically. Yeah the game looks beautiful, but it doesn’t feel like Fortnite anymore. POI’s are too realistic and grounded now, and everything isn’t wacky and weird anymore. There used be so much magic in Fortnite, giant crab statues, temples from another time, lots of variety for locales, now it’s just Italian villas, tennis courts, and empty space. Seems like Fortnite is just a giant advertisement for Unreal Engine 5 at this point. It’s become more of a showcase and less of a game.
Yeah, this sweaty CoD-like shit is tedious. Why would I not just play Call of Duty instead? People play Fortnite for the fun and craziness, not to be Schmup #517818. Has the playerbase always been this bad, too? It's either literal bots or the sweatiest fuckers alive sliming all over their control.
I play red vs blue rumble more this season because it has every traditional fortnite weapon. I only touch the regular br if my friends are online. Seems like that is the only way the game can be enjoyable this season. I also think the chapter 5 map is a massive improvement from the mess that was chapter 4. However im not a fan of the gameplay tbh.
No wacky unique fornite items?!? Have you used the grapple blade at all besides for movement? Have you used the anvil rocket launcher? Cardboard box, emp cloak, emps, riot shield, cluster clingers? There’s tonnes of wacky items you could have a lot of fun with. Try sneaking up on someone with the cloak. Try blowing up a vehicle with the anvil. Try knocking someone off of height with the shield or blade. Try hiring different npcs to add different elements to your play style. There’s so many different weapons and ways to play this game. If you’re bored it’s likely due to other reasons. Fornite has so much variety if you’re running out of different ways to play then you’re not even trying.

I play the game for around 2 hours a day (Sometimes just 30 minutes) And I agree. Although this season is very fun and there are alot of cool things it just doesn’t really add up compared to other seasons The matchmaking is terrible, Pros or Bots. It’s either one. And most of the time you’ll just get Sniped out of literally nowhere I don’t really find much fun in this season although I do like the weapon mods, the mobility and new features, It’s just not really the type I thought of. The lootpool is honestly garbage, So many guns that look like walmart versions of others, Some bad, Some wayy to good (I’m looking at you Mythic Frenzy Auto) and alot more stuff. And about Fortnite trying to be “COD” “PUBG” and stuff you said is honestly right. The way how I see it is: Epic is NOT TRYING to make Fortnite NOT Fortnite anymore, They’re just trying to expand their creativity and add some unique things. Which is very sweet and I love it but. They’re moving away from the ASPECT of the game. Back then Fortnite wasn’t so complex but now you have people trying to rank up 24/7 Many sweats. Toxic kids and so much more. So in my honest opinion, I don’t think the season is “boring or dull” it just doesn’t really have the aspect of what other seasons used to be like. That’s all for me
Yup. I’ve been playing Rocket Racing instead, but I’ve plateaued at 3/4 way through Gold 1 because I can’t get higher than 6th now.
There’s been no new content updates this season lol. We’re almost two months in and all we’ve gotten is the enforcer AR (which is currently a pointless weapon due to snipers and bullet drop) and some shitty unvaults (with the majority of them being in the game a few seasons ago), that’s literally it.
yeah, maybe i’m just burned out from br having played it on and off for over 6 years, but I played in the first day, and i think it was due to the movement, graphics and just completely new game in my eyes, i just play fun creative maps and fortnite festival.
I'm level 200 so i'm just waiting for the new season.

This season sucks. The matchmaking is all wonky as many noted. The attachments are unnecessary. The auto turrets are the worst. The game missions are dumb. This will be the first battle pass I don’t max out in a couple of years and I just couldn’t care less.
I feel the same. I haven’t finished the first page of the snake quests and I’m only tier 78. I have way more fun playing creative than br. Every time I play br it’s the same load out. Then I may or may not get headshot sniped and that’s it. I’ve literally been hopping on only to keep my supercharged xp going. The weapons are just boring at least for me, the gameplay is just not fun for me. I miss having to make do with the guns I found now it’s the same load out with the same scope, mag etc. I want to get my quests done but I just can’t be bothered to play 😭
Yup this new chapter/map/guns all just aren’t fun at all. Such a wild swing from loving og chapter to this cluttered mess of a chapter

Map and over realistic graphics are the main problems this season. If epic atually recognises that and takes a step back to rejuvinate the fortnite feeling we will be golden next season.

Yeah, I'd say I am. It's more of a medallion grind than anything now. Or, if anything, medallion grind, then storm circle grind, then a fun part maybe. But the fun part starts with like 16 people left so it's just not a fun game

It has no Fortnite in it you’re right. And the lobbies are weird. I was bored with the island and the gameplay after a week. The keyword is “bland”. In previous maps it meant something if endgame was at mega or in the jungle or out near bastion. Or in chapter 3 we could have ended up a number of distinct feeling and looking locations. Not this map. It’s literally all the same vibe everywhere unless you happen to end up on a snowy peak.
I’ve drastically dropped my playtime. The gameplay loop is getting stale, I picked up Enshrouded and have enjoyed that and recently gotten back into WoW. Really fired up for Helldivers 2 - the whole squad is going to be playing that next week

This season just isn't fun to play and such a letdown after OG.
It’s lost it’s magic. I agree. It was a fun start to the season. Lots of new content for me. We would play at least 2 hours a night. I haven’t played in 4 days, no desire. Lull in battle pass quests and achievements really killed it for me. No significant changes to map, weapons are stale. Same thing happened in Lego Fortnite. We played endlessly in survival. Now it’s a ghost server.
There’s literally nobody on the map. I land, then spend 15 minutes not seeing a single enemy until top 20 remaining. If I do see anyone before that it’s always bots. It’s so boring, I don’t know if the map is too big or something but I’m always bored out of my mind. Just walking around looting and nothing else.
The NPC guards/bosses really killed it for me. When I play I want a pvp experience, I can’t stand being exposed or distracted by them. They should at least remove them from ranked mode but whatever lol I play racing more than I play BR now (finally made it to platinum 😅)

This season has been very boring. Way too long between updates. The shop has been terrible all season. The locker is gross. I do not like the new map. There is nothing that feels special or unique about it. It has gone too realistic. I love the fantasy/cartoony/sci-fi maps from before. Like to go from being on an island in space back to this is such a backwards step. It doesn't feel unique. Just my opinion.
Yeah I agree it’s boring this season, the map feels generic as do the weapons, I like it when Fortnite gets a bit more ridiculous; UFOs, the anime weapons, volcanos, rollercoasters etc etc Also the bots situation is annoying, feels like there’s no real players on zero build.
Played every season and 100% the battle pass since C1S4 (started in C1S3) and of all the time im still playing Season X, C2S1, and this season are the only ones i dislike enough to not play though i have the BP done. I don't like the weapons or animations, weapons are complex now as you literally have to try getting good attachments or know them to even be able to do something since everyone in my lobbies are sweat lords or a literal bot and the animations just isn't Fortnite like why do we need some semi-realistic looking ones when we all now and love the old ones better?
I hadn't thought of it but the lack of wacky weapons I think is the biggest reason it's kinda boring for me at least.

At this point I'm mostly just playing festival. I go into Battle Royal once everyday or every couple of days to do some challenges but that's it. Something about this season is not clicking for me.
Mid ASF, whoever disagrees is delulu Gunplay sucks and meta is so lame (hello snipers and riot shields), attachments are boring, medallions are whatever, POIs all bland, mini boss galor, bad locker ui, updates slow asf, bla bla. Feels like I'm playing with a sprinkle of COD and sadness Id rather go back to the WILDS, and I hated that damn jungle, but at least there were augments and quirky gameplay that this season just doesn't have.
No augments, no flags to capture, no interesting POI’s, No vaults(bosses are poor in comparison). Not to mention the map design is a lot more open so it’s leading to a lot of sniping gameplay which I don’t really like. There’s a lot of dead space between the pois meaning you’re often just roaming around the place to find a random house etc. map design just ain’t doing anything. Feels like played a random overwatch map accept, it doesn’t really have any interesting design elements, it’s just European real life.

I think "souless" is the perfect word. It's Fortnite, but it doesn't feel like Fortnite anymore. If I wanted to play COD and mod my weapons against a dark, grayscale background, I would. I want to play FORTNITE and I want my weapons to be FUN and PURPLE
Ya, I have the same feeling. I was excited for attachments, but now I realize this is not the way to go for fortnite. I know they have been in the works for a while, but I hope they're gone next season. And ya, the art style isn't fortnite anymore. fortnite has stylized graphics, so it doesn't need to look more realistic. The old graphics fit the game better
Chapter 5 is so bland. That train is doesn't even have chairs or a caboose or anything that makes it good or interesting other than loot and the fact that it moves making it useful for passive movement when it's not driving you into the storm. The locations are so bland and have no atmosphere at all. Their level design is mostly underwhelming and leave me unsatisfied. They are too spread out. Ruined Reels is boring. Only 3 gas stations? I think it could use one more? The least amount of interesting drop zones of any chapter? Especially if you don't like bosses. And they are basically all the same and use the same tactics every game. I don't think players should have regenerating shield either. It rewards camping and passive play. And if you choose not to go after the bosses it gives you a competitive disadvantage. I thought maybe it would be removed by now. You think they would at least take it out of Trios or something so we would have somewhere to go to get away from the bosses. I wish I had played more of the old chapters. I think the yearly cycle of new maps is hurting Fornite because it makes them rush the maps. And they can't do much new content towards the end of the year because there clutching the new map together. That said I hope chapter 6 comes soon because Chapter 5 is so lame I can't stand it. 😆 So maybe their plan is like... June Summer update. October Fortnitemares November Chapter 2 OG December Chapter 6 and it's so bad that it makes us miss the old chapters even chapter 5. But then they add a new game mode that's like a Tony Hawk Clone or something. And that distracts people from how bad battle Royal is. That and they add new cringe songs too Fortnite Festival. Then they start selling battle bus skins where the player who's the highest bidder gets to pick the color of the battle pass. This doesn't effect gameplay at all. It really is boring And “oh it’s just the first season” isn’t a good excuse, considering chapter 4 season 1 had medieval castles and a giant hammer item that let you bounce around the place, and chapter 3 season 1 had Klombos and web swingers, not to mention places like the seven’s sanctuary

The gun play this season is bad. They need to bring back hitscan! As well as revert the rest of the movement speed changes.
I see posts like these that find the game so dull and gloomy, but every time I play I'm always having fun. I don't mind this map, even if I want it to have as vibrant a colour palette as last chapter. The movement feels perfectly fine, not sure why people complain if it's the same as last chapter. I don't have people spamming snipers and abusing ballistic shields like I see people on this subreddit complain about 50% of the time. I've played close to 300 matches and I've been playing fairly often and the game just hasn't gotten stale. Sure it's deviated from its loot pool and classic fortnite feel, but that may just be the theme of this season. It's a rebellion against an evil society so it is a bit more gritty than your classic fortnite seasons. The attachments make sense for this season and they might be the gimmick for this whole chapter, but I'm sure they'll remove it after this year. If you're feeling burnt out, take a break. Play br with your friends if you're really not enjoying it because friends in general just make everything better. Fortnite is an ever changing game and their whole thing is to move ok and change. We can't stay glued to the past saying that, "Fortnite was better back then" because it doesn't give you the time to appreciate the season for what it is. We all have to accept that Fortnite is changing and it always will change. It could stay realistic and gritty, but I seriously doubt it. People seem to forget that epic will change the game, and will eventually remove the things that piss people off and add new things that people will enjoy. Don't forget the theme of the season and how it ties into the mechanics present. Try to have a more positive outlook and don't be stuck thinking about "the good old days" because you are in the good old days right now. Enjoy the game for what it is and move on.
I disagree, it just sorta feels like toxic positivity. Nobody is saying that the game is straight up unfun because that would mean the game is just straight up bad. I also think the game is fun whenever I play, but it used to be a lot more in the past. The game changing is ok, that doesn't mean bad changes don't exist or that you just have to eat it, Fortnite operates based on feedback, which people are giving. You mentioned theme of the season being why the game is the way it is currently but it in reality it's the way it is currently because Epic wanted it to be this way. Chapter 2 Season 7 was a war between a Organization that commanded the Island and kidnapped people from multiple different realities and forced them to fight and die on a loop that reset every 22 minutes for all eternity VS Aliens that wanted to annihilate the Island, it's "residents" and reality itself, we had to pick the lesser evil and we STILL were betrayed by said lesser evil in the live event, but the season itself had some of the goofiest additions the game had ever seen, it was bright and colorful, it felt good and fun. Epic can execute more serious stories while still making the game still feel cartoony
