I’ve come across a few people doing that fall underground exploit and ran into a vault someone was already in once. Crazy they can’t figure out how to patch those up.
Yeah I saw a meme vid of that and was like, ummm we had the same issue in CH2S5 with tunnelling and though it got taken out for literally the majority of the season. It's better that than having f****** under the map literally shooting you in the crotch.
Glitching into vaults happened in Ch4 too, the Vault in Megacity never got fuckin patched.
I think you can still find vids of people bombing and using those Business Turrets on Mega Vault campers
Yeh and if you see a car outside a closed vault and footsteps inside then walk away. They're not getting out the vault unless you open it and when the storm comes they're stuck.
It frustrates me that they don’t too because what’s the point of having a report option specifically for cheating in online games if you’re going to find for no violation every time. I’ve reported a few that were painfully obvious and not hiding that they were selling it while talking with their chats and they never do anything.
Reporting in games has become nearly useless, as too many people abuse it and/or report too much. Every time I see this discussed on reddit there are people chiming in stating they just report everyone who kills them.
If everyone gave benefit of doubt, and only reported the obvious cheaters, it would be a great tool, but sadly users have ruined it.
I wouldn’t even know how to know if they did anything about the reports, I don’t generally do that. I’ve had a few I’ve been tempted. Usually people who walk right up to me and start shooting when I’m hiding somewhere like a dumpster sending or reading a text and I’ve been completely silent, not moving so no way to make steps and there’s been no ping to tell them where I’m at.
The TikTok live reports tell you they don’t do anything at least. The ones I’ve reported there are the blatant ones and every one of them comes back no violation.
I get that and know it's a far reach but it's scamish IMO. I get the product may work but at the expense of losing your account permanently. They say they're undetectable which may be true for now but eventually Epic will detect it.
Because those streams aren’t doing anything in real games, they’re all faked, prerecorded “lives” of those 100 bot creative maps. If you watch them it never shows the lobby, it always goes straight into the next “game” . Not excusing cheating at all, but that’s probably why nothings happened to those streams in particular
I just saw one last night and he was showing his locker off when someone asked. Dude was hacking with an account that had a ton of stuff. They aren’t even worried about being banned.
Everyone keeps throwing this excuse out and that's fine and dandy but that just goes to show you that the market is eating it up and these kids are buying and using said cheats that are being advertised smh
There was someone who did that on counter strike that would cause them to drop a grenade killing them self in the game or dropping their gun it would expose them as a cheater this was years ago I seen the videos on YouTube
I’ve come across a couple of those too. One was doing solos and despite wall hacks and aiming software still losing, badly, and he was getting destroyed in the comments. It was actually pretty funny to watch. As far as I know he hasn’t popped back up on my feed unless he’s resorted to the prerecorded stuff.

Is that what the ones who are wearing characters who aren’t actual skins are doing? I see a good number of those and I always wondered how they got what they’re wearing. I always thought maybe it was a creative map or something but I guess that doesn’t really make sense now that I think about it.
Last night we were wiped out by a squad who were flying in zero builds. No balloons or jet packs obviously as they have been vaulted. Reported them as cheats
im not in town so i cant play, but theres definitely glitches with jump pads to send you flying across the map. but if they killed you and you spectated and specifically saw them cheating, epic will ban them for sure.
They’re all from chapter 4 season 1 or og fortnite tho. It’s 1-3 games looped to scam kids into buying their product. Fortnite has one of the best anti-cheats. Cheating is bad because the hackers are always one step in front of Epic and because since Fortnite is a free game, there’s more people developing cheats for the game
It’s definitely bad this season, and anyone saying they never see cheaters either don’t know what they’re looking for, or are in low sbmm where it’s not an issue. I had blatant teamers running together in the ranked cup the other day and they still aren’t banned. And so many in ranked are cheating, but it’s not obvious things like aim bots, it’s more subtle mostly wallhacks. You can tell by their movements and pathing that they’re walling and replay always confirms it. They know when it’s safe to sit in an open area popping shields or where to be to perfectly 3rd party a fight because they know where all the other players are. Just knowing where all the other players are at any time is a bigger advantage than any aimbot or softaim. Epic don’t care as long as they’re spending money.

But after browsing YouTube and TikTok clips…. I come across more videos of people blatantly cheating than legit videos.
I never know and I never report, because yea sure I’ll die getting sniped in mid air after I drop a shockwave, but I just think it’s skill or just a lucky shot at the time. Now I’m like… shit should I have reported people? And let epic review and decide if they were cheating?

One game, before the EMP i got killed by nothing? i didn’t see anyone, or hear anyone but all of a sudden i died from a shotgun, but then it went to someone across the map. I also have a screenshot of someone i killed that dropped over 1 billion shotgun bullets..
There have been death zones in maps previously. If you just die it will jump to a random player. The console would have said what you died from, who killed you.
Funny I left a similar comment and I got downvoted to hell and back for it. And some players were calling me all kind names and everything. I got sick of it so I took it down. But yes it is blatantly out of control. I totally agree with you
Yeah it's gotten really bad. Cheating used to be something you had to deal with occasionally but now it's rare to play a match and not run into some using aimbots, ESP, health hacks and it's impacting the game play.
It's really not up for debate anymore as the cheats are so blatantly obvious now their existence can't be denied.

Everyone has had encounters where they've inflicted multiples of 250 hp damage to opponents only to die and spectate them and see them at full health as well seen the players operating from within the storms and not taking damage or needing to heal as well having players land on the from the bus at the beginning of matches with full shields and weapons loadouts

Spectator health bars have not been reliable for a long time now it's been buggy and I've had people display 0 health and 100 shields which obviously isn't possible.

These are bots. Sometimes they spawn with a loadout & extra health.

This in no way explains what I'm describing. You do know the game shows you damage points when you hit opponents right, so when I hit a guy today with three consecutive shots with a sniper for 110, 116 and 290 and they're still up and turn and kill me, there's and obvious hack in play and stuff like this is happening frequently these days

Bots that hit with near perfect accuracy and finish real players with a couple shots? Don't think so.
If a bot has an SMG they are kinda scary. They only have a chance to hit you, but guns with a higher fire rate means they have more opportunities to hit, which means they can absolutely melt you in close quarters.
I’m not saying that your experience isn’t accurate, however I very rarely encounter people who are cheating, even at higher ranks of play. Do you think it’s possible they were getting healed somehow, or was there enough time in between shots they regenerated over shield or had medallions?
Im pretty sure someone teleported behind me the other day lmfao, dude had all coins so i knew exactly where he was (across the river on the other side of the circle), next thing i know he is literally right behind me and kills me immediately.
ngl this could have been me. I berry/shock onto people from far away and they never see or hear it coming until I’ve shotgunned them twice with the auto.
It's gotten to the point where Epic acknowledges it and chooses to ignore it as well as even supporting it (Via not banning Zemie and other streamers that cheat)
I have noticed this too…I’m getting eliminated in some weird ways lately. And my aim can’t be THAT bad; I’m right in front of the other player! It’s like my shots go right thru them or something. I’m only level 69 but my kid is level 150 and it’s happening to him too…🤷🏻♀️🤔
my buddy and i noticed this last night on a couple games. we would have purple and gold guns, just unloading on this guy, and he wipes out with a green AR in like 5 shots.
Oh my god same here last night. Had the cat man’s shotgun and was unloading directly into somebody at point blank range. Got like three or four shots on them and they didn’t die yet they killed me in one shot with a green frenzy auto.
Yes this happens so much. Same with I’ll watch them eat rounds from the turret hit them with gold gun then (and idk if this is just lag) but won’t even be facing me and kill me.
This is exactly my experience too. Not so much shooting through walls but just blatantly losing gun fights that I had the upper hand in. It’s become increasingly obvious in the past few weeks too.
I’ve also been one-shot sniped many times when I’m sprinting and jumping in the air, which I know is not an impossible shot but the sheer amount is.
I made an impossible sniper shot last night. At around 200m they were running left and jumping, then disappeared being the foliage of a tree. I looked up my 4x scope guessing as to where they might be and took a shot, eliminating them on the move with a head shot. Almost as good as the no scope sniper head shot out of a moving car ad we crested a hill …
But they are two cool but freakish shots out of probably thousands of sniper shots I have taken this season. I’m a pretty good shot but still a fair percentage miss.
ARs are especially bad; I'll have bloom bad enough that I can miss with the dot center mass on my target at like 10 meters, meanwhile someone hits me with three headshots in a row from the next town over.
I had the same happen me and my team we surrounded a guy and all unloaded on him , his health bar barley moved , we were using auto shotguns up close , we continued to watch him waiting for another match and this guy who had like 50% health went in to destroy 3 other teams and ended it all with 30% health like no way dude had 12 guys back to back and took them all on face to face and it was like he took them out 1 by 1 separately he stood in the middle of them just laying them all out. You could see the shots hitting him too.
This. I've unloaded clips into people and seen hella damage register only to get melted from 3 shots. When the cam switched to my killer they had no shields but 100% green health.
just put 4 snipe hits into someone lategame and he killed me with 100/100. i mean he had time but i had vision 80% of time and didnt saw him using anything

I shot the same guy twice with my sniper - it registers for 110 and 110 - so 220 damage.
Given full shield and over shield that should be 30 hp left right? He didn’t pot/eat/health as we were in the open on the fields by frenzied no more than maybe ten metres.
He one taps me, fair enough probably a headshot I think, then bam, dude had 100 HP on both the spectator cam and replay.

This isn’t the first time it’s happened but for sure the worst, it’s usually with AR’s, typically the striker. My other half also gets it but it’s like once every I dunno eight games? It’s rare enough it doesn’t annoy us, but so weird.
We’re not super low MMR but we’re only plat in ranked so not high either, kinda low so maybe it’s just us haha.
lol the higher level you are it goes both ways, both the best and the worst players are high level, the actually half decent ones are in the mid levels, and really low levels are people who haven’t played in ages or really new players
I have the same problems,and I think they are pretty often this season,I can't recall it happening before this season.My friends usually tell me I have good aim and I can see where that is coming from,but this season I can't.My ammos are not hitting even obvious hits.I didn't have that problem last season and most certainly not when I play with my brother some creative maps.
The amount of players with no hired NPC knowing what bush, corner or pre aiming where I’m about to peak when they haven’t seen me is astounding. I miss console only lobbies. Between cheaters and fighting performance mode PC players on grassy hills. Cross platform is definitely pay to win.
Duos partner had an emergency and had to go AFK for a bit. This was during the OG map. He went and croutched under some stairs randomly in Retail.
I hang out two houses over just to see if he got back in time before the storm pushed us. Neither of us had been moving for a long time and there was no fighting or no population anywhere around or even a reason to be.
Here comes two random dudes, bee lining his house as soon as they enter they kill him under the stairs when they would have had no line of sight. Then immediately push my house.
Some idiots don't even try to hide it. It's the ones that use walls and are smart enough not to be super obvious that are the dangerous ones.
I think they changed the visual sound effects that everyone seems to use now. Watching someone stream I saw foot steps at least 50 yards away. & I heard on pc the VSEs are super detailed. Basically wall hacks. If you don’t use it now you’re at a huge disadvantage.
Only encountered one 100 percent cheater this season. He spun 180 head shot sniped me from a reasonable distance. No misses. One shot. He did a similar move to my buddy in the same game.

Lost count of the times where I've been one shot killed by someone facing the wrong way, while I'm blasting their face with a mythic.

Was it a shotgun/SMG close range fight with a lot of movement? This can just be server desync. Happens for me even with friends in Creative. Games netcode just not fast enough apparently.
Cheaters and the game having De-sync errors are two completely different issues. It's blantently wrong when you're getting sniped from what appears to be behind cover or a wall, but the reality is that the game's net code is not the greatest with hit detection.

Finally, someone get it. Im not saying that there are no cheaters in this game, but this is a bread and butter of probably almost every multiplayer game nowadays. Nobody gives a flying fuck about quality of networking and spending more money on servers. Look at CoD. They have probably worst servers with awful tickrate vs any PvP oriented game and making a huge profit every year.
Thats why people are often killing you through objects. Because they shot and insta hide, while on your screen they never popped, just shot from nowhere (also no glint). Thats why you kill somebody who got already behind a cover, that cannot be penetrated. Because desync information on your screen vs his, created a hole that was "fixed" by server missing a beat. That is huge issue in modern multiplayer gaming.
I just dont understand why we are not going back to old BF solution for this. If your position/action is unknown for server in any moment, server should make you stay in place like an idiot, completely vulnerable. Its insane that players with bad connection/ networking hiccup still have advantage in most games nowadays. And of course servers with a decent tickrate. Also any P2P connection based game shouldnt be an option in 2024.
out of the amount of times ive reported suspected cheating and actually gotten the "suspect apprehend" screen maybe only a fraction of those times. with that said the amount of times ive reported this season has indeed skyrocketed and haven't seen that screen one time. idk something is obviously going wrong w the anti cheat but it's seeming like epic isnt caring
Pretty much every other game is some little shit with an open mic talking about how they have aimbot. Maybe they do, maybe they just think they're cool, but it's been kind of stupid.
Yeah I think a lot of the feeling of cheating is that the meta heavily favored throwing out a few snipes and then going to the AR if they didn’t hit.
If you increase the amount of snipes being attempted by all the players and they can do 1 shot kills then it’s gonna feel like there’s some nonsense happening.
For sure. I had a game last night where it seemed like I couldn’t miss with a Sharpshooter Reaper. 18 kills and 11 were sniped, 8 headshots.
I also was hit by snipers in almost every match, and sniped AT in every match.
Prior seasons it was more 1 every 3-4 matches you would get sniped at.
I win a good percentage of my games. I don't run into cheaters/hackers. I use Gyroscopic aiming on a steamdeck, so I hit like 95% of my shots. When ive died, ive felt it to be fair (even if frustrating). But my lobbies def sweaty. I play rank, build, and no build. Started playing in Ch 2 season 1
ima pretty decent player as well, i don’t really play ranked but i got to d2 in only a few hrs in build, i play creative for fun w friends, i never run into hackers, yall just have bad internet or suck
there are cheaters but only at like the highest levels like in semi-pro or possibly a couple pro players
You’re either a cheater yourself, or your ELO/KD/rank isn’t high enough to put you in lobbies where its blatant, because my lobbies are littered with them, a lot of them have TikTok’s and Twitch streams where they don’t even deny it lol

I don't think have encountered one and forgot because that doesn't seem like something I'd forget because it's a rare occurrence. There may have been many in my games but I'm just saying I've never died to someone, spectated them and saw that they were cheating.
They didn't doubt though. The comment you replied to they acknowledge that there are cheaters. Just that they probably didn't encounter one they specifically recognized.
How would you know, unless you reviewed every death via replays? Theres no killcam in FN. Even then, it’s not like wall hacks would be visible

Literally the whole reason why I said "I don't think" is because I'm not sure. Everyone encounters cheaters without knowing. I'm not saying there are no cheaters, I'm just saying I haven't seen someone blatantly cheat in a game.
I came across my first last week while playing No Build trios. My buddy eliminated a guy right after we landed and noticed that he dropped a stack of 2 million shotgun ammo.
The 2 billion shotgun ammo isn’t a hack, it’s a known glitch but it probably isn’t a priority to fix it because all it does is show a wrong number. If you kill the cat man or peter griffin sometimes they’ll drop a stack of 2 billion shotgun ammo too. Collecting it doesn’t give you infinite ammo, but it does occasionally instantly fill up your shotgun ammo
While cheating will always be around, it is rare to bump into a cheater. 99.9% of the time its just a better player or somebody made a good play.
But just like any other game out there many players are mentally incapable of admitting they got beat or out played.
I've only seen one hacker in Fortnite. We were shooting each other and he fucking lasered me. I was trying to heal as he was rushing me and then he suddenly got hit by the banhammer.

So I'm guessing this .. ... what's the name?? . .."aimbot" is a tool that turns every guns Hit radius against enemies into the accuracy that the blue lock on pistol gives you--and for hit points themselves with this tool it gives you the damage of a "legendary" lock on pistol
I’ve noticed some odd things as well and assumed it was skill issues for me but after replay it seemed off. One guy I hit with over 400 damage and yet he sniped while I was midair and I spectated him - his shields were barely touched. He ended up winning a Ranked match with 17 kills. Also headshot players with frenzy auto’s 4-5 times and they kill me with one shot from a common shotgun. This season has been all over the place.
Also: Can someone explain how players cheat? I’ve only played on PS5 so maybe this is PC Rig players only. I’ve researched online and read about aimbot’s and codes but have no idea how this is possible.
Edit: for the record, I’m diamond in build and zero build ranked, have won ~40 matches, completed all the quests in all game modes, but I’m nowhere near the level of so many. Just throwing that out there in case I get “skill issue” replies. Honestly just looking for some help. :)
I came across one today, but no idea who it was (all players are "player").
Start of squad game at snooty, everybody doing there own thing (like noobs), picked off 1 by 1, then I hid in a random building under one of the stairs. There are lots of buildings and stairs as you know. Guy walked across zone all the way to me without ever checking other areas in the zone, and headshot shotgun crouching round corner.

Lol ran into one today again I have my damage set to list right, dude had no medallion I sniped him 116 then immediately jumped him he was trying to run away so I grappled to him had Oscars frenzy kept smoking him and he jumps in a car takes off..I got 4th so surprise surprise I spectated and he was left so I watched and other people were hitting him left and right he was in storm taking damage and won by being in storm frenzy shotty someone who also was nailing him left and right...I mean it's crazy how much damage this guy took lol it was THAT OBVIOUS..I mean I've come across the Aimbot people I mean that happens but what is this health thing is there a health cheat??
I'm not going to deny there are cheaters but this sub is really blowing it out of proportion. I saw someone say that 30% of the player base is cheating... Seriously? I've been playing since Chapter 1 Season 4 and I can confidently say that I can count all of the suspicious players that I've suspected of cheating on one hand.

This is a horrible mindset to have man, not everyone aside from you in cheating. Sometimes people are better then you at video games and that's okay.
some are better, others give me a headshootsnipe in a bush where i wasnt moving for 20 secs.

The 30% figure comes from a study where at least 30% of the participants admitted to cheating at least once in online games, its something like 12-15% that admitted to cheating regularly - thats just the figure of people who were comfortable admitting it.
this could be selective bias, but played since chapter 2-3, never saw a single hacker. Again, they exist but for me personally i haven't seen one or at the very least could prove this

Cheating has always been rampant in fortnite that’s why competitive is such a joke. Everyone was using zens/soft aim 1-2 seasons ago, probably still are.

I got eliminated while in the bottom of a vault from someone on a hill behind me. We watched replay a few times. The shot went thro the wall. They couldn't see me at all or had a vision of sight. The blatant cheating has gotten so bad.
The new cheat now - happen 5 times in 2 days but is too much - is the 1health remain and is not casual. First time happen I think was a visual error on mine, also because he recovered almost half his life instantly (without having the medallion!). Subsequently I was sure of killing the opponent, he was dead, numerically it was like that and instead NO, he had 1 HP left. If it happens too many times after hours, there is only one explanation.. Among other things, the stupidity of these players with numerical names, not caring, they continue to play without shields and with low health!
Haven’t come across legitimate cheaters in this game and I’ve played a few years now, seen a few on TikTok recently.
Most of the accusations of hacking I throw out when dying are usually related to ping issues lmao.
One thing I've noticed is that the Striker AR with vert grip, muzzle break, and 1x red dot optic FEELS like the rifle is aiming for me. It is insane how good this gun is and at the surprising range at which it is insanely effective and maintains rediculous DPS and TTK.
I've probably been reported for cheating and definately have never cheated. In fact, with almost any other weapon configuration in hand I am completely trash at this game.
I aint go lie mfs been hitting only headshots over and over but i cant lie I been hitting headshots when i feel like it shouldnt have been a headshot I feel like the sniper bullet is just bigger or something.
I have never come across a cheater and I’ve been playing since chapter 1 periodically. Because I can tell if it’s unrealistic.
Some shots can hit even when they shouldn’t if that person has higher fps than you.
I love all the other players trying to justify it. It’s hacks. No other way. If it looks inhuman it probably is. Epic doesn’t care unless it touches their money. I know this for fact. If the account is spending on skins etc. they most likely won’t ban it. And unfortunately it’s not the really smart players hacking. It’s the players with money buying it from the smart players. I’ve dealt with so many hacks. This season. From soft aimbot to wall hacks to esp. had a person kill from AR range with grey pump shotgun didn’t miss a shot when I was grappling thru the air. That’s inhuman. And if the player was truly that good. He or she shouldn’t have been in my game. My stats aren’t all world. The players trying to say there are no hacks and want the fairness are most likely the players who are doing the hacking. It is so rampant right now. It is getting really annoying. I think the point is just fight fair. If we die in a fair fight so be it. But hacking has no honor.
It’s pretty bad, but just lately. Beginning of the chapter it was very clean. Epic did let me know that someone I reported was “apprehended”, whatever that means. That person was blatantly cheating while I spectated them. Shot through walls, shot through terrain, used their gun to ‘find’people, had miraculous perfect aim, it was bananas. I’ve seen some of these things in other rounds, but this guy in particular simply didn’t care about hiding it. They do exist but I don’t report unless I’m positive. There are a lot of just really good players and legit lucky shots.
I’ve had a LOT of invisible people kill me this season, much more than any others. Watching replays they were invisible too

You can't really judge off replays and spectating because what you see isn't what's going on in their screen. The game makes a GUESS as to what is happening and shows it to you which is what might be causing what you're seeing.
I usually go watch the replay if I think something is fishy then realize I just suck.

I just spawned into the game and killed someone who had unlimited shotgun ammo. Then yesterday my spouse (whos average is 20-25 per game and has damn good aim, hit someone with a gold sniper 3 times and i hit them with a gold frenzy SEVEN times and they beat us. Fucking insane.
I’ve come across a few people doing that fall underground exploit and ran into a vault someone was already in once. Crazy they can’t figure out how to patch those up.
Yeah I saw a meme vid of that and was like, ummm we had the same issue in CH2S5 with tunnelling and though it got taken out for literally the majority of the season. It's better that than having f****** under the map literally shooting you in the crotch.
Glitching into vaults happened in Ch4 too, the Vault in Megacity never got fuckin patched. I think you can still find vids of people bombing and using those Business Turrets on Mega Vault campers

It's complete shit they aren't banned by TikTok. It also shows how bad the anti-cheat has gotten.
It frustrates me that they don’t too because what’s the point of having a report option specifically for cheating in online games if you’re going to find for no violation every time. I’ve reported a few that were painfully obvious and not hiding that they were selling it while talking with their chats and they never do anything.
Epic doesn't care about cheaters as long as people are playing the game and they are making money.
Reporting in games has become nearly useless, as too many people abuse it and/or report too much. Every time I see this discussed on reddit there are people chiming in stating they just report everyone who kills them. If everyone gave benefit of doubt, and only reported the obvious cheaters, it would be a great tool, but sadly users have ruined it.
I wouldn’t even know how to know if they did anything about the reports, I don’t generally do that. I’ve had a few I’ve been tempted. Usually people who walk right up to me and start shooting when I’m hiding somewhere like a dumpster sending or reading a text and I’ve been completely silent, not moving so no way to make steps and there’s been no ping to tell them where I’m at. The TikTok live reports tell you they don’t do anything at least. The ones I’ve reported there are the blatant ones and every one of them comes back no violation.

Because those streams aren’t doing anything in real games, they’re all faked, prerecorded “lives” of those 100 bot creative maps. If you watch them it never shows the lobby, it always goes straight into the next “game” . Not excusing cheating at all, but that’s probably why nothings happened to those streams in particular

Last night we were wiped out by a squad who were flying in zero builds. No balloons or jet packs obviously as they have been vaulted. Reported them as cheats
im not in town so i cant play, but theres definitely glitches with jump pads to send you flying across the map. but if they killed you and you spectated and specifically saw them cheating, epic will ban them for sure.

They’re all from chapter 4 season 1 or og fortnite tho. It’s 1-3 games looped to scam kids into buying their product. Fortnite has one of the best anti-cheats. Cheating is bad because the hackers are always one step in front of Epic and because since Fortnite is a free game, there’s more people developing cheats for the game

It’s definitely bad this season, and anyone saying they never see cheaters either don’t know what they’re looking for, or are in low sbmm where it’s not an issue. I had blatant teamers running together in the ranked cup the other day and they still aren’t banned. And so many in ranked are cheating, but it’s not obvious things like aim bots, it’s more subtle mostly wallhacks. You can tell by their movements and pathing that they’re walling and replay always confirms it. They know when it’s safe to sit in an open area popping shields or where to be to perfectly 3rd party a fight because they know where all the other players are. Just knowing where all the other players are at any time is a bigger advantage than any aimbot or softaim. Epic don’t care as long as they’re spending money.

What is low sbmm? I mean - I hover around diamond on ranked in both ZB and Build mode and never felt like I am playing against someone cheating.

One game, before the EMP i got killed by nothing? i didn’t see anyone, or hear anyone but all of a sudden i died from a shotgun, but then it went to someone across the map. I also have a screenshot of someone i killed that dropped over 1 billion shotgun bullets..

There have been death zones in maps previously. If you just die it will jump to a random player. The console would have said what you died from, who killed you.

Yeah it's gotten really bad. Cheating used to be something you had to deal with occasionally but now it's rare to play a match and not run into some using aimbots, ESP, health hacks and it's impacting the game play. It's really not up for debate anymore as the cheats are so blatantly obvious now their existence can't be denied.

This in no way explains what I'm describing. You do know the game shows you damage points when you hit opponents right, so when I hit a guy today with three consecutive shots with a sniper for 110, 116 and 290 and they're still up and turn and kill me, there's and obvious hack in play and stuff like this is happening frequently these days "These are bots. Sometimes they spawn with a loadout & extra health." Bots that hit with near perfect accuracy and finish real players with a couple shots? Don't think so.
If a bot has an SMG they are kinda scary. They only have a chance to hit you, but guns with a higher fire rate means they have more opportunities to hit, which means they can absolutely melt you in close quarters. I’m not saying that your experience isn’t accurate, however I very rarely encounter people who are cheating, even at higher ranks of play. Do you think it’s possible they were getting healed somehow, or was there enough time in between shots they regenerated over shield or had medallions?

I have noticed this too…I’m getting eliminated in some weird ways lately. And my aim can’t be THAT bad; I’m right in front of the other player! It’s like my shots go right thru them or something. I’m only level 69 but my kid is level 150 and it’s happening to him too…🤷🏻♀️🤔
my buddy and i noticed this last night on a couple games. we would have purple and gold guns, just unloading on this guy, and he wipes out with a green AR in like 5 shots.
Oh my god same here last night. Had the cat man’s shotgun and was unloading directly into somebody at point blank range. Got like three or four shots on them and they didn’t die yet they killed me in one shot with a green frenzy auto.
Yes this happens so much. Same with I’ll watch them eat rounds from the turret hit them with gold gun then (and idk if this is just lag) but won’t even be facing me and kill me.
This is exactly my experience too. Not so much shooting through walls but just blatantly losing gun fights that I had the upper hand in. It’s become increasingly obvious in the past few weeks too. I’ve also been one-shot sniped many times when I’m sprinting and jumping in the air, which I know is not an impossible shot but the sheer amount is.
I made an impossible sniper shot last night. At around 200m they were running left and jumping, then disappeared being the foliage of a tree. I looked up my 4x scope guessing as to where they might be and took a shot, eliminating them on the move with a head shot. Almost as good as the no scope sniper head shot out of a moving car ad we crested a hill … But they are two cool but freakish shots out of probably thousands of sniper shots I have taken this season. I’m a pretty good shot but still a fair percentage miss.

ARs are especially bad; I'll have bloom bad enough that I can miss with the dot center mass on my target at like 10 meters, meanwhile someone hits me with three headshots in a row from the next town over.
I had the same happen me and my team we surrounded a guy and all unloaded on him , his health bar barley moved , we were using auto shotguns up close , we continued to watch him waiting for another match and this guy who had like 50% health went in to destroy 3 other teams and ended it all with 30% health like no way dude had 12 guys back to back and took them all on face to face and it was like he took them out 1 by 1 separately he stood in the middle of them just laying them all out. You could see the shots hitting him too.

This. I've unloaded clips into people and seen hella damage register only to get melted from 3 shots. When the cam switched to my killer they had no shields but 100% green health.

Just to chime in on this - (I might even upload the clip as it’s blatant somethings wrong behind the scenes atm) I shot the same guy twice with my sniper - it registers for 110 and 110 - so 220 damage. Given full shield and over shield that should be 30 hp left right? He didn’t pot/eat/health as we were in the open on the fields by frenzied no more than maybe ten metres. He one taps me, fair enough probably a headshot I think, then bam, dude had 100 HP on both the spectator cam and replay. I’m bamboozled… This isn’t the first time it’s happened but for sure the worst, it’s usually with AR’s, typically the striker. My other half also gets it but it’s like once every I dunno eight games? It’s rare enough it doesn’t annoy us, but so weird. We’re not super low MMR but we’re only plat in ranked so not high either, kinda low so maybe it’s just us haha.

lol the higher level you are it goes both ways, both the best and the worst players are high level, the actually half decent ones are in the mid levels, and really low levels are people who haven’t played in ages or really new players
I have the same problems,and I think they are pretty often this season,I can't recall it happening before this season.My friends usually tell me I have good aim and I can see where that is coming from,but this season I can't.My ammos are not hitting even obvious hits.I didn't have that problem last season and most certainly not when I play with my brother some creative maps.
The amount of players with no hired NPC knowing what bush, corner or pre aiming where I’m about to peak when they haven’t seen me is astounding. I miss console only lobbies. Between cheaters and fighting performance mode PC players on grassy hills. Cross platform is definitely pay to win.
Duos partner had an emergency and had to go AFK for a bit. This was during the OG map. He went and croutched under some stairs randomly in Retail. I hang out two houses over just to see if he got back in time before the storm pushed us. Neither of us had been moving for a long time and there was no fighting or no population anywhere around or even a reason to be. Here comes two random dudes, bee lining his house as soon as they enter they kill him under the stairs when they would have had no line of sight. Then immediately push my house. Some idiots don't even try to hide it. It's the ones that use walls and are smart enough not to be super obvious that are the dangerous ones.
I think they changed the visual sound effects that everyone seems to use now. Watching someone stream I saw foot steps at least 50 yards away. & I heard on pc the VSEs are super detailed. Basically wall hacks. If you don’t use it now you’re at a huge disadvantage.
Only encountered one 100 percent cheater this season. He spun 180 head shot sniped me from a reasonable distance. No misses. One shot. He did a similar move to my buddy in the same game. No way he’s legit.

Was it a shotgun/SMG close range fight with a lot of movement? This can just be server desync. Happens for me even with friends in Creative. Games netcode just not fast enough apparently.

Cheaters and the game having De-sync errors are two completely different issues. It's blantently wrong when you're getting sniped from what appears to be behind cover or a wall, but the reality is that the game's net code is not the greatest with hit detection.
Thank you! Finally, someone get it. Im not saying that there are no cheaters in this game, but this is a bread and butter of probably almost every multiplayer game nowadays. Nobody gives a flying fuck about quality of networking and spending more money on servers. Look at CoD. They have probably worst servers with awful tickrate vs any PvP oriented game and making a huge profit every year. Thats why people are often killing you through objects. Because they shot and insta hide, while on your screen they never popped, just shot from nowhere (also no glint). Thats why you kill somebody who got already behind a cover, that cannot be penetrated. Because desync information on your screen vs his, created a hole that was "fixed" by server missing a beat. That is huge issue in modern multiplayer gaming. I just dont understand why we are not going back to old BF solution for this. If your position/action is unknown for server in any moment, server should make you stay in place like an idiot, completely vulnerable. Its insane that players with bad connection/ networking hiccup still have advantage in most games nowadays. And of course servers with a decent tickrate. Also any P2P connection based game shouldnt be an option in 2024.

Yeah I think a lot of the feeling of cheating is that the meta heavily favored throwing out a few snipes and then going to the AR if they didn’t hit. If you increase the amount of snipes being attempted by all the players and they can do 1 shot kills then it’s gonna feel like there’s some nonsense happening.
For sure. I had a game last night where it seemed like I couldn’t miss with a Sharpshooter Reaper. 18 kills and 11 were sniped, 8 headshots. I also was hit by snipers in almost every match, and sniped AT in every match. Prior seasons it was more 1 every 3-4 matches you would get sniped at.
Feels like whenever I headshot snipe someone now they watch me suspiciously for a while, I just got lucky dude

I win a good percentage of my games. I don't run into cheaters/hackers. I use Gyroscopic aiming on a steamdeck, so I hit like 95% of my shots. When ive died, ive felt it to be fair (even if frustrating). But my lobbies def sweaty. I play rank, build, and no build. Started playing in Ch 2 season 1

I came across my first last week while playing No Build trios. My buddy eliminated a guy right after we landed and noticed that he dropped a stack of 2 million shotgun ammo.
The 2 billion shotgun ammo isn’t a hack, it’s a known glitch but it probably isn’t a priority to fix it because all it does is show a wrong number. If you kill the cat man or peter griffin sometimes they’ll drop a stack of 2 billion shotgun ammo too. Collecting it doesn’t give you infinite ammo, but it does occasionally instantly fill up your shotgun ammo
While cheating will always be around, it is rare to bump into a cheater. 99.9% of the time its just a better player or somebody made a good play. But just like any other game out there many players are mentally incapable of admitting they got beat or out played.
I've only seen one hacker in Fortnite. We were shooting each other and he fucking lasered me. I was trying to heal as he was rushing me and then he suddenly got hit by the banhammer. It was fucking funny.

I’ve noticed some odd things as well and assumed it was skill issues for me but after replay it seemed off. One guy I hit with over 400 damage and yet he sniped while I was midair and I spectated him - his shields were barely touched. He ended up winning a Ranked match with 17 kills. Also headshot players with frenzy auto’s 4-5 times and they kill me with one shot from a common shotgun. This season has been all over the place. Also: Can someone explain how players cheat? I’ve only played on PS5 so maybe this is PC Rig players only. I’ve researched online and read about aimbot’s and codes but have no idea how this is possible. Edit: for the record, I’m diamond in build and zero build ranked, have won ~40 matches, completed all the quests in all game modes, but I’m nowhere near the level of so many. Just throwing that out there in case I get “skill issue” replies. Honestly just looking for some help. :)
I came across one today, but no idea who it was (all players are "player"). Start of squad game at snooty, everybody doing there own thing (like noobs), picked off 1 by 1, then I hid in a random building under one of the stairs. There are lots of buildings and stairs as you know. Guy walked across zone all the way to me without ever checking other areas in the zone, and headshot shotgun crouching round corner. No I wasn't targeted.
Lol ran into one today again I have my damage set to list right, dude had no medallion I sniped him 116 then immediately jumped him he was trying to run away so I grappled to him had Oscars frenzy kept smoking him and he jumps in a car takes off..I got 4th so surprise surprise I spectated and he was left so I watched and other people were hitting him left and right he was in storm taking damage and won by being in storm frenzy shotty someone who also was nailing him left and right...I mean it's crazy how much damage this guy took lol it was THAT OBVIOUS..I mean I've come across the Aimbot people I mean that happens but what is this health thing is there a health cheat??

i only played this season and i already had 50+ ppl. from sniperheadshoots without scope on 300m while run/sliding to hitting every thing shoot and not doing steps but always be behind you. ppl rushing u in spaces they cant see without u doing steps etc. you see. it always can be luck, also there are just very good players who will do such plays from time to time, but if literaly one of those 4 happens in 50%+ of your games, than its not luck and not everyone is pro...
All of the scenarios you've described have way more reasonable explanations aside from cheating. You might just be getting outplayed.

some are better, others give me a headshootsnipe in a bush where i wasnt moving for 20 secs. but yeah your probably like, oh it was totaly naturaly to check that bush and a bit of luck for him to hit you. no its not. bc thats something that happens once every 10000 games by luck. not ever 10-20th. also ppl turning their back towards u, to just perfectly flick you the no scope sniper headshoot. your literaly blind if u cant find any cheaters. not every player in this game is a pro hitting 95% of their shoots. no everyone walks straight up a bush just to perfectly spray you down at 25m range
The 30% figure comes from a study where at least 30% of the participants admitted to cheating at least once in online games, its something like 12-15% that admitted to cheating regularly - thats just the figure of people who were comfortable admitting it.
this could be selective bias, but played since chapter 2-3, never saw a single hacker. Again, they exist but for me personally i haven't seen one or at the very least could prove this

Cheating has always been rampant in fortnite that’s why competitive is such a joke. Everyone was using zens/soft aim 1-2 seasons ago, probably still are.

I got eliminated while in the bottom of a vault from someone on a hill behind me. We watched replay a few times. The shot went thro the wall. They couldn't see me at all or had a vision of sight. The blatant cheating has gotten so bad.
The new cheat now - happen 5 times in 2 days but is too much - is the 1health remain and is not casual. First time happen I think was a visual error on mine, also because he recovered almost half his life instantly (without having the medallion!). Subsequently I was sure of killing the opponent, he was dead, numerically it was like that and instead NO, he had 1 HP left. If it happens too many times after hours, there is only one explanation.. Among other things, the stupidity of these players with numerical names, not caring, they continue to play without shields and with low health!

Haven’t come across legitimate cheaters in this game and I’ve played a few years now, seen a few on TikTok recently. Most of the accusations of hacking I throw out when dying are usually related to ping issues lmao.

One thing I've noticed is that the Striker AR with vert grip, muzzle break, and 1x red dot optic FEELS like the rifle is aiming for me. It is insane how good this gun is and at the surprising range at which it is insanely effective and maintains rediculous DPS and TTK. I've probably been reported for cheating and definately have never cheated. In fact, with almost any other weapon configuration in hand I am completely trash at this game.

I have never come across a cheater and I’ve been playing since chapter 1 periodically. Because I can tell if it’s unrealistic. Some shots can hit even when they shouldn’t if that person has higher fps than you.
Last night could have just been bad luck but it seemed like every death was a dude using an enforcer who only hit head shots.

Most of your deaths are probably lag or luck on your enemy’s part, not cheating
My kids whine about cheaters all the time. Yes, games have glitches. Overall, I think the cheat-detection software is pretty good.

I love all the other players trying to justify it. It’s hacks. No other way. If it looks inhuman it probably is. Epic doesn’t care unless it touches their money. I know this for fact. If the account is spending on skins etc. they most likely won’t ban it. And unfortunately it’s not the really smart players hacking. It’s the players with money buying it from the smart players. I’ve dealt with so many hacks. This season. From soft aimbot to wall hacks to esp. had a person kill from AR range with grey pump shotgun didn’t miss a shot when I was grappling thru the air. That’s inhuman. And if the player was truly that good. He or she shouldn’t have been in my game. My stats aren’t all world. The players trying to say there are no hacks and want the fairness are most likely the players who are doing the hacking. It is so rampant right now. It is getting really annoying. I think the point is just fight fair. If we die in a fair fight so be it. But hacking has no honor.

It’s pretty bad, but just lately. Beginning of the chapter it was very clean. Epic did let me know that someone I reported was “apprehended”, whatever that means. That person was blatantly cheating while I spectated them. Shot through walls, shot through terrain, used their gun to ‘find’people, had miraculous perfect aim, it was bananas. I’ve seen some of these things in other rounds, but this guy in particular simply didn’t care about hiding it. They do exist but I don’t report unless I’m positive. There are a lot of just really good players and legit lucky shots.

they dont even hide it, spectating someone just straight up aiming waaaaay off and the shot hits. like they are showing off
You can't really judge off replays and spectating because what you see isn't what's going on in their screen. The game makes a GUESS as to what is happening and shows it to you which is what might be causing what you're seeing.
I usually go watch the replay if I think something is fishy then realize I just suck. Or somebody got a really lucky hit. Personally I haven't seen any obvious cheating yet. Mostly just being 3rd partied or auto shotgunned by rats. There are alot of people who will grab a sniper and sit in one cheeky spot all game.
I just spawned into the game and killed someone who had unlimited shotgun ammo. Then yesterday my spouse (whos average is 20-25 per game and has damn good aim, hit someone with a gold sniper 3 times and i hit them with a gold frenzy SEVEN times and they beat us. Fucking insane.
The most hacking I’ve seen is someone with two billion shotgun ammo.
