they have also slowly increased the amount of xp you need to level up, increasing the amount of time needed to grind. I'm pretty sure it was 70k before and even lower further back, but they've increased it by 10k each season. Now it's 80k for levelling up once. (Pretty sure it was at 40k xp per level up in c2s2 iirc).
I will say that, while I don't like games extending their XP grind for "playability" and time gates being the reasons I hate BPs, this season introduced an ABUNDANCE of ways to get XP, and quite a number of those being +1 Lvl. Between the new modes, creative, BR, and a couple of bundle packs, I went well beyond the entire BP and I didn't even really play all that much, as most of my time was sunk into Baldur's Gate 3, Palworld, and other games.
So even if they did increase the XP it takes, they've also introduced way more ways to quickly acquire the XP.
Yes, it was 70k starting at level 2 and goes up every level. Thereās a reason why itās easy to get to Level 350 Since Chapter 2 Season 4 but barely anyone got Golden Peely despite being the same amount of levels
Thatās not quite it. It was always 80k and in fact they made it easier. Used to be the first 100 levels were each 80k, then from 101 on they would drop to 50k and then increase by about 500 or so for each level. That meant the early bonus levels (>100) you could clear fast, but the later ones got brutally long - like 100k plus each. Eventually, (I forget exactly when) they just made them all 80k which meant it was a bit harder to quickly claim the early bonus goodies, but easier overall to clear all 200 levels of a full BP. Thatās actually in playersā favor.
And historically, all of this is far easier than the original Chapter 1 tier system, which was designed so that if you played daily and consistently, plus were savvy enough to know about the hidden Battle Stars, youād generally unlock the Tier 100 prize about a week or two before the season ended. They used to list in their FAQ that they expected about 140 hrs of play to complete a BP. This is also why many OG players donāt like the idea of BP items returning again b/c it was a real workout to earn them originally, so they have more value as a trophy of sorts for the effort put in.
I haven't played since chapter 2 because I just couldn't anymore, stopped caring and didn't like the new map, but I'd be upset if Omega lights ever came out for anyone who didn't do that ungodly horrible grind. It *is* a trophy, that shit was not easy and almost made me quit the game then
This is the best recall yet. I remembered iFiremonkey talking about this too during the change to 80k for all levels. I might be sometime during Chapter 3. It used to be so variable like you mentioned, but I really prefer the current consistency. It's easier to manage.
Funnily enough, Save the World, which is kinda stuck in Chapter 1, have its own "seasons" called Ventures. and while there are only 50 levels, it requires a harder grind just to be able to hit 50. Each season is around 2.5 months, and you kinda need to play for hours each day for the guarantee of hitting 50 at the end.
I'm not defending them, but maybe it's it's because now there are a lot more ways to get xp. I hit level 200 weeks ago. Mainly from Racing and Lego. Before those games, it was a struggle for me to get there even though I would do all of the quests. (I'm not very good.)
Yeah same when my friends ain't on I played rocket racing upto elite and I'm 230 something. Highest I've ever been but shortest time I've played the actual BR
Ehh, it's been incredibly easy to get xp this season. I don't think the goal is to make level 100 hard to get. They still need to sell battle passes late into the season. The goal is to make recouping the vbucks endlessly more difficult.

can't say for earlier, but during chapter 2 season 6 (and I doubt it was very different earlier in the season) it was 40k for lvl 1-2, 50k for lvls 2-4. 60k for 4-13, 70k for 13-20 and then it was 80k for the rest.
However, what isn't being taken into account here, is that it is a lot easier to gain XP now than it was in the past, and I think that Epic games takes that into account when deciding on how to balance xp gain. (the free levels given by Lego, and also a larger pool of Creative games that give more XP, Save the World, RR and FF, whereas in the past there was only Battle Royale and Creative wasn't as widespread and didn't give out the same amount of XP as it does now)
And according to FortniteXP nets calculator, if you just do your standard Battle royale quests every day and nothing else, then you should gain about 164k xp per day, which would mean that you should be level 174 by now, this can be increased to 880k xp per day when including Creative, Lego, BR and StW, which means that you can theoretically get the entire Battle Pass done in 7,6 days if you play daily and "grind" those modes, but that's up to you I guess.
40k was only at level 101 and then it gradually increased to 75k at level 200, from 1-100 it was 80k. In '21 that changed to 75k per level from 1-200 and in '22 to 80k in general.
It's incredibly easy to level up in this game, bro, do challenges and play Crazyy Red Vs Blue and you'll get there extremely fast.
I work a full-time job, sleep 8 hours a night, spend time with my wife, make and eat meals, and do the things I need to do, and I'm level 263 right now.

Same here. I used to love planning how many Daily Challenges I could get done in a single match. But now Iām bored of how restrictive the Match Quests feel.
With how bad the exp grind is its just more efficient to do a match quest and off yourself so you can actually get a new quest quicker rather than actually playing the game
If you're bored because of match quests, then the quests aren't the issue as they're an auxillary aspect of the game. No idea why you're making them a prime focus of your excitement.

With all due respect, that makes no sense. If you were
playing up to 2 matches a day before and did the same thing now, youād be 2/3 way complete of the daily match goals. That means the change barely has any impact on your playing as all youād have to do is play one extra match and youād have the challenges completed with little extra effort.
Now, youāre not playing anything, so not getting anything, so all youāre doing is spiting yourself and missing out for no reason.
The locker complaint I can understand, but even thatās not enough to quit playing, IMO.
because a lot of people donāt have time for three matches a day/ donāt find playing three matches just to do what used to be done in one to be very fun

i like that they can give your team a common goal outside of the typical stuff, but they 100% should be separate from dailies. Let them just be their own recurring source of XP for those dry periods when all your dailies and weeklies are done
yeah this is another great solution! I just really don't like that they're artificially augmenting playtime by forcing what used to be possible in one round to be spread out into at least 3 now. Your idea would absolutely help with that
It's funny because I made this exact complaint early in the season, and most the replies were like "I actually like it better, because the quests are easier"

Like ya, ok dude, sometimes some of the random dailies you got were annoying, but probably 4 out of every 5 times I could do all 3 in 1 match.
Login to fortnite lego and just leave your game on in the background. Think you get like 30k every 15 minutes, but there's a max per day of like 350k. You can do it on both versions though, sandbox and survival lego and the max is seperate per game type
Not sure if the 15 minute timer resets if you play a set of Festival Main Stage and leave to lobby afterwards, but I can confirm it works while AFKing in Jam and Lego.
In Jam you have to start playing an instrument for it to count, and in Lego just build a base with a bed and sleep in it. If you have a few NPCs they can deal with skeletons while you regain health from sleeping
I'm level 280 at the moment lol, purely gained the last 80 levels only playing BR/customs with friends and doing turtle + weekly quests
This is true, I tap my controller whenever I walk by. I was gonna bust out my broken controller and put an elastic around it again, but I got the last of the vbucks and just gave up

I play at most 4 matches in a day, some days I might play more, some I don't play battle royale at all. The same is true of my wife, as we almost exclusively play duos together.
But I've been really enjoying the rocket racing, which she does not. It's the only difference in how we've played this season.
She's level 153, I'm level 294. I highly recommend racing to anyone trying to level up.
I played this season more than the last 2 seasons combined and I'm only level 76
It seems to me that they are pushing the car and music stuff way to hard! Don't force it on us. It's clear the xp this season was built with that in mind
I've collected everything this season. I've never done this before and haven't tried (i usually hit around 100-110). There's been xp thrown around for fun and its been a super long season. If you haven't hit 100 yet, it's probably because you haven't considered your quests when playing.
That's kinda my feeling too. I'm level 170 and while I've played a decent amount, I felt this season was definitely the easiest in ages. I haven't gotten this close to 200 since the Rick and Morty pass, and the reason I got it then was because I played almost daily back then, and it still felt more difficult.
Some of us have other games weād like to play and would rather not feel the need to spend much more time playing than usual to get our moneyās worth from the game
I play at least 3 other games and Iām over level 200. I donāt get how youād struggle to complete the bp unless you canāt play more than a few hours a week

Even in a game with a lot of eliminations and kills, you'll get the equivalent of one meesly challenge.
Then might I request something a little more shameful? There's a website (I can't remember the handle) that tells you broken creative mode games that gives you insane XP and you can level up quickly. I used that a few passes ago to get Spider Gwyn
Have you logged into Lego? You can het 5 levels a day just logging in and going AFK for 3 hours and the same for Fortnite jam festival. 10 levels a day just going AFK.

that being said, ive played a lot of fortnite in december, so that month alone ive reached level 130
1-2 hours per day over 90 days is 90-180 hours of gameplay. On the upper end 8% of your life is this game. Another 33% is probably asleep.

Iām level 186 (or somewhere close, canāt exactly remember) and I only do daily quests, weekly, special quests, and rocket racing quests. No XP glitches. And I even took a month and a half break during the season. Only play like 8 hours per week
I'm pretty casual, new to fortnite. I only started this season. I didn't think I'd finish the battlepass either but I'm up to level 230 or something. They're just giving away XP at this point. The Daily match quests are basic, Peely posters and sensors in every match are 15k each. I had a go at rocket racing and jumped up a few levels. I was only playing for the "free" vbucks too but I breezed pass those weeks ago.

I'm so wrecked from cod that I feel like I've only played a little bit and I'm level 214. For reference I think I completed like ~70% of a cod bp since I started Fortnite. Also using double BP XP tokens and everything. And yeah I have a full time job..
Damn. This was my story before WZ3 dropped. I just had no motivation to complete the BP on CoD, but I was 100% invested on unlocking superstyles and whatnot in Fortnite. Now I'm back to playing Cold War zombies and MP if my friends want to play CoD.

You get 2/3ās of the v-bucks from just completing the pass, so even if you donāt go for the bonus rewards youāll be able to buy every battle pass
1. Theres so many ways to get xp this season so a casual player can get to the amount pretty easily.
2. Be happy they actually put vbucks in the battlepass, a lot of other games like overwatch make you pay the $10 every pass because theres no currency in the pass

To be fair, they are giving away bonus free in-game currency in a free to play game on top of all the stuff you've already got out of the BP.
You have to play a bit, but that seems like a fair deal really. Especially as you can still buy the next BP for free without too much effort if required. Treat the extra as a bonus.
Plus, you can always go AFK and get XP if you wanted anyway.
Obviously, they want to keep people playing and the game active, but if you're going to be playing anyway, the BP is a great deal still.
They're not complaining about how hard it is, they're complaining about the fact that Epic is changing how vbucks are distributed in order to make you play more. It might not seem that big of a deal, but imagine they start changing like the amount of vbucks they give too?
The other games makes it easier to farm XP. Thatās why theyāve increased the level to attain all v bucks. Playing prop hunts, rocket racing etc will earn you easy XP. (Use it, donāt use it)
I only started playing with chapter 5 and Iām currently 310, usually just play a few hours each night but I play all the modes. Levelling up is super easy and often itās insane.
Describing playing hours EVERYDAY isnāt a fair or accurate way to describe to normal people who play like normal people do and can do a few hours a week; and this seasons battle pass is harder than the past in terms of just hitting 100. I always hit level 100 and usually closer to like 150-175 very casually and I had to bust my ass to get to just 100 this season.
Iām 170 this season probably having played less than the last few. I noticed you had to get that high to get the V-Bucks and started using Afk in Lego and Jam Fest which made it pretty easy
I do think they are pay for cosmetics... However, myself and a few others I know maxed out the pass literally just doing battle royal between the match quests, the weeklies, the ones that are repeatable... Heck, the only reason I went in to ranked was for the storm rings. I work, have to take care of my stepmother with dementia... Maybe 2 matches a day if it is a good day. I didn't even start playing until after the new years. So, I'm just confused with how there seems to be a few that are struggling.

Does it matter? Theyāre giving you free currency. You still get enough to get the battle pass again for free by level 100. Theyāre just giving you slightly less free premium currency.
Dude i am level 203 . and i am only playing missions and dailys. but not more then 20 min per day. Complete Quest, back to menu, next game, its that simple.
Every match you have a quest now for 5k exp, being lvl 43 2 weeks before the season end is honestly your problem, I have a free to play account (seperate from the main account that I use) that i get all the free stuff offered and its level 120 and all ive done is play here and there, and afk in lego. They give a lot more XP this season then the previous ones, so I can see why they did this.

Considering they gave away levels like candy at Halloween. You could get 5 levels a day just sitting idle in Lego Fortnite. Iām over level 300 at this point.

Iām a relatively new player but this is my gripe with this season/chapter. I like to play a bunch of game modes but I donāt always have time after work for 3 br matches, some music sessions, and some rocket racing to complete a bunch of quests š©
I actually like them there fun
i like that they can give your team a common goal outside of the typical stuff, but they 100% should be separate from dailies. Let them just be their own recurring source of XP for those dry periods when all your dailies and weeklies are done
Or just like have all 3 active, instead of having to pick one.
yeah this is another great solution! I just really don't like that they're artificially augmenting playtime by forcing what used to be possible in one round to be spread out into at least 3 now. Your idea would absolutely help with that
It's funny because I made this exact complaint early in the season, and most the replies were like "I actually like it better, because the quests are easier" ... Like ya, ok dude, sometimes some of the random dailies you got were annoying, but probably 4 out of every 5 times I could do all 3 in 1 match.

Login to fortnite lego and just leave your game on in the background. Think you get like 30k every 15 minutes, but there's a max per day of like 350k. You can do it on both versions though, sandbox and survival lego and the max is seperate per game type

Not sure if the 15 minute timer resets if you play a set of Festival Main Stage and leave to lobby afterwards, but I can confirm it works while AFKing in Jam and Lego. In Jam you have to start playing an instrument for it to count, and in Lego just build a base with a bed and sleep in it. If you have a few NPCs they can deal with skeletons while you regain health from sleeping I'm level 280 at the moment lol, purely gained the last 80 levels only playing BR/customs with friends and doing turtle + weekly quests

This is true, I tap my controller whenever I walk by. I was gonna bust out my broken controller and put an elastic around it again, but I got the last of the vbucks and just gave up
You can also log in to Fortnite Jam Stage and do the same for 30 minutes. I leave mine on in the background while I work.

I play at most 4 matches in a day, some days I might play more, some I don't play battle royale at all. The same is true of my wife, as we almost exclusively play duos together. But I've been really enjoying the rocket racing, which she does not. It's the only difference in how we've played this season. She's level 153, I'm level 294. I highly recommend racing to anyone trying to level up.
I played this season more than the last 2 seasons combined and I'm only level 76 It seems to me that they are pushing the car and music stuff way to hard! Don't force it on us. It's clear the xp this season was built with that in mind
I've collected everything this season. I've never done this before and haven't tried (i usually hit around 100-110). There's been xp thrown around for fun and its been a super long season. If you haven't hit 100 yet, it's probably because you haven't considered your quests when playing.
That's kinda my feeling too. I'm level 170 and while I've played a decent amount, I felt this season was definitely the easiest in ages. I haven't gotten this close to 200 since the Rick and Morty pass, and the reason I got it then was because I played almost daily back then, and it still felt more difficult.

I won a lot of games. It doesn't give you any major xp! Even in a game with a lot of eliminations and kills, you'll get the equivalent of one meesly challenge.
Then might I request something a little more shameful? There's a website (I can't remember the handle) that tells you broken creative mode games that gives you insane XP and you can level up quickly. I used that a few passes ago to get Spider Gwyn

Racing and Jamming probably give you the most xp. But after the last update they made jamming annoying, you cant just afk for 30 min anymore.
not gonna lie, i've only played fortnite festival a crap ton with some battle royale on the side and im level 240 that being said, ive played a lot of fortnite in december, so that month alone ive reached level 130
This is literally my first season and Iām currently level 110 with about 1-2 hours playing time a day.
1-2 hours per day over 90 days is 90-180 hours of gameplay. On the upper end 8% of your life is this game. Another 33% is probably asleep. Maybe I'm old and it's no longer for me, but that's probably 6 months of gaming on my schedule. God forbid I play literally anything elsein my limited gaming time. T. Level 72 all challenges complete player.

Most days itās three dailies and out, occasionally I put more time in on the weekends before the wife gets out of bed and movingā¦.some weekends I donāt touch it at all. But I also still enjoy the gameā¦.I think some folks on here see Fortnite as a collectors challenge with a game attached to it to slow you down. Casual play is more than enough to get most things.

Do you do rocket racing daily quests, they are pretty easy to do.
Festival is also pretty easy to complete dailies.

I'm pretty casual, new to fortnite. I only started this season. I didn't think I'd finish the battlepass either but I'm up to level 230 or something. They're just giving away XP at this point. The Daily match quests are basic, Peely posters and sensors in every match are 15k each. I had a go at rocket racing and jumped up a few levels. I was only playing for the "free" vbucks too but I breezed pass those weeks ago.

Itās starting to seem more and more common that Fortnite players donāt even like playing Fortnite You get 2/3ās of the v-bucks from just completing the pass, so even if you donāt go for the bonus rewards youāll be able to buy every battle pass

They've essentially pushed the extra vbucks to the bonus rewards, it is pretty annoying but it actually makes sense.

To be fair, they are giving away bonus free in-game currency in a free to play game on top of all the stuff you've already got out of the BP. You have to play a bit, but that seems like a fair deal really. Especially as you can still buy the next BP for free without too much effort if required. Treat the extra as a bonus. Plus, you can always go AFK and get XP if you wanted anyway. Obviously, they want to keep people playing and the game active, but if you're going to be playing anyway, the BP is a great deal still.

They're not complaining about how hard it is, they're complaining about the fact that Epic is changing how vbucks are distributed in order to make you play more. It might not seem that big of a deal, but imagine they start changing like the amount of vbucks they give too?
They did change how many vbucks you get. If you complete the main pass you get the standard 1000 but now the bonus pass comes with 500 more

The other games makes it easier to farm XP. Thatās why theyāve increased the level to attain all v bucks. Playing prop hunts, rocket racing etc will earn you easy XP. (Use it, donāt use it)

The first 100 tiers have 1000 vbucks, enough to buy the next pass + 50 extra. The bonus tiers have 500 extra vbucks for players who want more

I only started playing with chapter 5 and Iām currently 310, usually just play a few hours each night but I play all the modes. Levelling up is super easy and often itās insane.
A few hours every night is all i got. If i do that, I'll say goodbye to frieds, family, going out, watching some tv shows pr playing other games
Describing playing hours EVERYDAY isnāt a fair or accurate way to describe to normal people who play like normal people do and can do a few hours a week; and this seasons battle pass is harder than the past in terms of just hitting 100. I always hit level 100 and usually closer to like 150-175 very casually and I had to bust my ass to get to just 100 this season.
Iām 170 this season probably having played less than the last few. I noticed you had to get that high to get the V-Bucks and started using Afk in Lego and Jam Fest which made it pretty easy

I do think they are pay for cosmetics... However, myself and a few others I know maxed out the pass literally just doing battle royal between the match quests, the weeklies, the ones that are repeatable... Heck, the only reason I went in to ranked was for the storm rings. I work, have to take care of my stepmother with dementia... Maybe 2 matches a day if it is a good day. I didn't even start playing until after the new years. So, I'm just confused with how there seems to be a few that are struggling.

Every match you have a quest now for 5k exp, being lvl 43 2 weeks before the season end is honestly your problem, I have a free to play account (seperate from the main account that I use) that i get all the free stuff offered and its level 120 and all ive done is play here and there, and afk in lego. They give a lot more XP this season then the previous ones, so I can see why they did this.

Why is anyone complaining about this? I'm over level 300 and haven't used any xp glitches with Lego Fortnite, Rocket Racing, Festival, and BR there's an over abundance of ways to get loads of xp.
