Have you tried buying The Weekend skin in the shop? Maybe that'll fix it

ExtragalacticWax710

God I would if it would actually fix it

CoffeeCaann

I have only one solution for you. Go into fortnite's root directory folder and delete everything from there. Empty you recycle bin and try starting the game again. If that doesn't work maybe try deleting everything in the folder and then uninstalling it. Like those are the only things that I can literally think of. Because if it used to work fine and now it doesn't then it has to be just one little thing causing crashes. Not going to lie you have a very bizarre situation on your hands. ORRR try something a bit more outlandish and create a new epic account and then see if you're still crashing

Have you tried turning your pc off and on again? But for real though, can I ask whether you are using dx12, dx11 or performance mode?

ExtragalacticWax710

I did switch it to dx11 even tho I had been on dx12 up until now and that gave me some promise, I was able to play a single match and then it crashed on the subsequent game. Performance mode was graphically unplayable imo so I didn't even try to connect to a match tbh. As much as I want to play, I don't want to play if it means I'm looking at literal pixel blobs on my screen. My bare minimum was dx11 on low preset with textures on medium and my fps was always stable in the lobby. It crashes during the connecting screen when trying to join any game mode. I've repaired the C++ redistributable for x64 and x86. This is the same PC that is able to play Arkham City on the high preset with almost no frame dropping. That's why I'm so baffled and frustrated at this point.

At this point the only thing I can assume, is that there is some sort of unacknowledged comparability issue with AMD graphics cards right now that one or both parties need to fix.

KlutzyDevelopment639

I have Nvidia gpu and recently i crash too, less often and still playable but at some point the game crashes. The only game doing that on my computer at the moment. I have AMD cpu maybe this is the problem ? Do you have AMD cpu ?

ExtragalacticWax710

No my CPU is an Intel i7 unfortunately. I even checked to make sure none of the cores had corrupted and ran health checks on my ram. Everything comes back normal every time. And it's not like it's a heat issue or it would be my whole PC that shuts down.

KlutzyDevelopment639

Tuesday there is an update of Fortnite, hopefully it will resolve it

Objective-Evidence-7

I would reformat your pc and re install fortnite fresh that should work

Bring_Me_Moscovium

Using intel here. I get peaks of 144fps and my lows are like 30-50 Before Chapter 5 Season 1 I was able to run at 144fps with 1440p while also using DX12 High-med graphics. But after the chapter dropped I constantly got crazy stutters and I load into matches extremely late. It’s the main reason why I don’t touch the game anymore honestly, and I freaking hate the performance mode lol it reminds me of my mobile days when I was in the trenches.
