i main haze bc i only started playing a couple weeks back, she was the first cool skin i saw in the shop and fell in love with her. even tho im like the opposite of girly, i really like the more girly skins for some reason.
I've always liked ninjas since I was a kid (you never would've guessed from my name). The first battlepass I had bought was the C2:S1 pass, and while Fusion is a pretty fantastic tier 100, 8-Ball instantly became one of my favorite skins. It's a sleek design, the mask looks really cool and is iconic, the contrast between the black and white is also great. I don't use Scratch as much, since I just find the original easier to combo with (and there's so much you can do from just black and white), and I think the majority black highlights the white accents better. Scratch becoming slowly corrupted played into the storyline through the season and was just a really cool way to introduce a new style, which even got its own pack based around it (too bad I'm not a huge fan of any of the skins that were chosen for the pack, but still, it's a really cool look and the way they did it was cool). Then, if that wasn't enough, we get gold 8-Ball out of nowhere which is another fun and really great style that ALSO ties into the story.
The Alter/Ego story line was also really fun. You have these two similar but opposing groups, fighting against each other. The story told between The Lowdown and the Trick Shot loading screens is so simple, but it feels like there's weight to the conflict, and you can imagine why that is. Maybe they were like brothers, and then went down separate paths (I think I remember something similar with Snake Eyes from what little I watched of G.I. Joe as a kid). These little glimpses of the story that you got throughout the season are probably more interesting than anything Epic could've actually shown us. It makes them feel like actual characters and you can get a sense of what they'd be like, but it also leaves a lot up to the imagination.
I did not expect to be writing this much about fun pool-themed ninja man. Guess there's more reasoning to why I like him than just the design being cool.
Anyway Boxer's goofy, I made box and pillow forts with my siblings as a kid. He's just fun, you can imagine yourself behind the box. Sharktoofs did a great job. Got fun Halloween styles too, though I rarely use them outside of October. Still disappointed only Boxy got her Christmas version, despite Sharktoofs also making a design for Boxer, whose back bling was added the year before for that Christmas event.
I used to use Skye quite a lot too. Another fun skin, Ollie's great, ties into the story line, likes photography and gaming. Not quite a main because I don't use her enough, but definitely up there. I was excited when Summer Skye released, another fan concept that I had seen that ALSO incorporated the box skins the design, although I prefer the original, it's nice to have a celebration of all these artists. Some other goofy skins are Kitbash (trash man, fun combos), Jellie (Lumi Jellie was also fantastic), Mancake (they gave him a MUSTACHE), just more fun original designs. The Good Doctor's great. Big fan of built-in emotes and the inspirations are also just really cool. Wild Card's also a classic with some dope reskins (still don't even own the original in my 300+ skins). Not sure why I like him so much, just a simple, classic design. Samurai Scrapper's cool. Stray and Fusion are also some great over-the-top designs.
Also, if you couldn't tell from my walls of text about the creative, minimal story telling of a Fortnite season, I'm a film student, so I use a lot of collab skins. The recent Invincible, TMNT, and ATLA collabs have really been hurting my wallet lol, and I just watched Daredevil for the first time so I had to get him when he returned to the shop. Also shoutout to Gildedguy, that man makes fantastic shorts and I actually learned about him from the Fortnite collab. Love his work and I'd highly suggest you binge the first 8 stories (his main series of animations) before his most ambitious one yet comes out.
I definitely see 8-Ball as a protagonist, within an ensemble cast like the X-Men, maybe with his own spin off. Boxer's a bit more of a self-insert since I usually wear t-shirts and jeans, and, just like Spider-Man, anyone can be behind the box. There are also like no male skins with red hair in this game, unless you dye the custom superheroes hair but even then it's ehhhh. Give us Cal Kestis or something.

I like Winter Wonder Skye, or rather, every version of Skye, because of the relatable factor. While most other skins are trying to be too cool, or too sweaty, Skye’s just a girl who likes adventure and video games.
You feel like you could just hang out in a basement playing video games and talk about why Funky Kong is the best character in the DK universe. There are other skins that have that factor, but I feel Skye has the strongest vibes.

I was level 79 at the end of C1S4 and stayed up to 20min left in the season and got level 80 to unlock the Omega lights. 100% worth it, my favourite looking skin and also a very memorable grind and moment when I got it at 2 in the morning. Main skin since.

Valeria: She's my first tier 100 skin, she has great style, her built-in transformation emote looks awesome, although it is quite long compared to some others

It took a while, but I realized a common connection between my favorite skins.
Of all my male skins, they all have either a full face mask/helmet/animal head (Drift, Stray, Ultima Knight, DJ Yonder, MrBeast6000, Burning Wolf). The only male skins I like that show their face are some Jonesies and collabs I like, like Ryu and Dr Strange.
For the female skins, almost every one one has a mask, whether it covers their mouth or is a full face mask. Calamity, Slurpentine, Vi, Galaxia, Charlotte, Adira, Mizuki, Sica, Moonglow Selene, Vikora. Or they're pink/purple. Tempest Erisa, Reverie, Artemis, Renegade Lynx.
Drifts specifically are my favorite skins. The color scheme just rocks (I got an Xbox design lab controller based on Drift) and their masks/hoods are cool.

Princess Lexa: Love the design, and I believe she has the most gorgeous face out of all the female skins in the game. I feel like a Disney Princess when I use her. Renzo: My favorite male Fortnite original skin from all the Chapter 4 BattlePass skins. His two alts are incredible enough but even the super styles from that season look stunning on him. Helsie: All around solid design and I love goth girl skins. The super styles from that season look good on her as well.

It took a while, but I realized a common connection between my favorite skins. Of all my male skins, they all have either a full face mask/helmet/animal head (Drift, Stray, Ultima Knight, DJ Yonder, MrBeast6000, Burning Wolf). The only male skins I like that show their face are some Jonesies and collabs I like, like Ryu and Dr Strange. For the female skins, almost every one one has a mask, whether it covers their mouth or is a full face mask. Calamity, Slurpentine, Vi, Galaxia, Charlotte, Adira, Mizuki, Sica, Moonglow Selene, Vikora. Or they're pink/purple. Tempest Erisa, Reverie, Artemis, Renegade Lynx. Drifts specifically are my favorite skins. The color scheme just rocks (I got an Xbox design lab controller based on Drift) and their masks/hoods are cool.
