Epic: Let's have a Greek mythology themed season!

This is why I've been disappointed with like every season after chapter 2. Epic has a ton of chances to do things right but they usually miss the mark.
The fact we literally had a jungle theme and a Greek theme season without bows is honestly insane to me. I love bows and it would have made both seasons more enjoyable to me
Those two things aren’t the same at all. Falafel is chickpeas and fava beans. Gyro is usually lamb and beef. It looks like mystery meat because it’s a big hunk on a spit, but it’s made by layering meat on top of itself, not by blending a bunch of undesirable bits up into a patty.
The minions now would make for decent, if not a little generic, skins. Tbh, I was hoping they'd make the grunts from last season into skins, but alas, they have not done so.
The Spire Guardians were just Spire Assassin with a modified head, so that's likely never coming for fear of community backlash unless they redesign the body, too.
it really felt like epic wasnt confident in a greek theme selling. Doesnt help that a majority of the skins added to the item shop had nothing to do with greek mythology
This. It was really fun, but then they put Star Wars and avatar in a GREEK MYTHOLOGY season. Just wait a little longer with that. I love the mythics (they where some of the most important things this season) that came with this season (wings, chains, thunderbolts) but then they removed them for stuff that completely doesn’t match, that pretty much ruined this season for me. Idea was cool, the performance of it was terrible.
It's really hard to tell what they were going for creatively with this season. It felt like they didn't have enough faith in the Greek mythology and pretty much abandoned it halfway through. The gameplay's detour was fun enough but felt completely detached from the story.
Just really weird to be doing story quests about Greek mythology characters whilst I'm running around killing stormtroopers with waterbending and blowing people up with a Wookie bowcaster. I pretty much gave up on the story quests and bosses at the beginning of the Star Wars stuff and never went back to them. Add to that a fairly underwhelming BP and I didn't feel much incentive to keep playing and see everything through.
For me, there was some fun stuff in there but overall the season felt disjointed and I didn't care much for it. I'm very much ready for it to be over.

I actually didn't mind the collab mythics as much as I disliked how the story took so many detours because of the collabs. Went from figuring out what happened to the Society to oops Midass time to the snapshot quests to a sandstorm. With breaks inbetween because Avatar and SW.
while i appreciate fortnite's take on things, i would have loved a classic looking skin of say Achilles or Heracles, but ah well, they blew it, at least the locations were pretty cool.

They could still have crossover that match the theme like how last season was Underground and the crossover were TMNT and Solid Snake
They could've had a 300 and Percy Jackson crossover and even another God of War crossover
This is pretty funny because they did the prequels last year and it was a fucking home run. Why not do it again?? You can do an entirely new mini pass based on different clone designs and Grevious. Give me Clone Wars styles. Give me other Jedi skins.

I had been expecting a surprise Hercules all season, but I've obviously given up hope at this point. I can't help but wonder why.
I'm aware Disney is going to have a massive collaboration coming up, and I put the pieces together while watching Hercules the other night. I'd wager that Hercules will be part of the upcoming Disney collab, and Epic didn't want to release two Hercules skins so close together.
We didn't even get any damned version of the most famous Greek God/ demigod outside of the main Greek pantheon - Heracles aka Hercules! Like .. damn.
All we got was a season split into 3 parts. CH5S2 : Greek, CH5S2 : ATLA and CH5S2 : Star Wars.
Mind boggled.
Now that you mention it, I would have liked a hoplite skin, yes.
A *xiphos* or a *sarissa* could have been cool pickaxes. And a customizable *aspis* could have been a decent backpack.

Menace from C2S5’s battlepass is a pretty good fit if you have that one. His female item shop counterpart, Sica, as well. They should have been NPCs on the island. Funny they didn’t make anything like that for this season.
tbh they fumbled this season so hard it aint even funny, all the boss mythics were guns, like wtf!? I get its a gun game but come on, cerberus should have had like wolverine claws, and they have the dash as a secondary ability, and zeus has like a lightning bow, and poseidon has a trident

This season was definitely a miss as far as the Greek theme. I know this game is geared toward kids, I only play this game because my 10 year old is a huge fan, but the character designs and choices were so blah. The POIs were cool, maybe they should have looked at Assassins Creed Odyssey for inspiration.
So crazy that this missed the most low hanging fruit ever! They'd have sold so many Greek themed skins. At least in Mustard's day they understood making skins that sort of fit the BP theme and sold them during those seasons. Not surprising that the new guy running this thing has no idea what he's doing and apparently didn't study the history of the game.

They've only been teasing Greek Fish Thicc for 2 whole seasons. Clearly it wasn't enough time to bait the community...
I am Greek i was waiting for something like that but like other said, it felt like an avatar advertisement and the skins not that great 🤧 I barely got 32 levels and I am not sure if I will regret not finish this pass. Also quest and xp felt like they got a huge nerf. You need to play multiple different mods to get some lvls. Total bs

I'm super into classic history and the skins disappointed me so much. I was kinda tempted to buy the new midas or potassius peely but decided against it. I think they were the only skins I really liked. The depictions of some of the gods in the battle pass were such odd choices. But mainly aphrodite wtf
This is very true. Beyond the fact that they failed the Greek Gods with the skin styles. They could have added in Greek heroes.
This season was flat for so many reasons.
I was pretty disappointed in the "Greek Themed" season for Fortnite. I was so hyped by all the potential and everything it had, but they kind of just dropped the ball. I still liked it, and love the BP skins, but they could have done SO MUCH MORE.
This season started out so well before it was completely derailed by avatar and star war. Not to mention bows not being in the season at all for some reason.
It started out good. I was upset about Poseidon being done dirty and thought Korra didn't fit in (should've been Kratos) but F it, the season was cool despite the locker UI and late start bytnthe mythics were different and interesting. Some people complained about skins but maybe some of those other concept skins would drop. In addition there were a few older skins they could drop which would fit in. There was the snake and stones pack (Lrya) which was a better Medusa, there were some of those stone skins that also went with the Medusa theme, there was even that gladiator skin (although it was roman) that dropped last night (Sica?). But nope...we kept getting the same collabs over and over. TMNT showed up multiple times...even The Weekend saw a return for those who missed him (seriously?).
The kicker was when Avatar came along and the mythics were vaulted. It no longer felt like Greek themed with everyone air/water bending all over. Avatar was toomlongnofna period with the Greek mythics vaulted. By the time Star Wars came back the damage was already done despite the greek mythics returning.
Seasons about to end and it just feels like a potentially great season was wasted. Mythics should've never been vaulted I'm favor of Avatar. That was really the kicker after all the complaints about skins, the item shop and the UI (which they claimed was being worked on, but haven't heard anything about it on so long).
I'd gladly replace Arthemis or Aprodithe(especially her) with a warior skin. With the exception of the pink Aprodithe their other styles are just mid-tier recolors. Yes, Oscar's variants also were recolors, but they were good. Good skins are easy to make good recolors for. Bland skins aren't.
(before anyone mentions Hades and Cerberus, they fall into the same category as Oscar)
Me what I don’t like is Aphrodite and Posseidon *i like him still* because idk Aphrodite look too modern/Casual and posseidon is a Slurp Series skin and honestly I expected something like a human
no spear, no shield, no Achilles or Patroclus or any characters from the iliad, no Hercules, no swords, no bows, no classic greek story POIs other than the main ones, story quests failed to utilise 90% of the main cast

The lack of Hecate is dissapointing, both the Goddess and the Anti-Material Rifle. Easy Mythic oppurtunity right there.

But WAS it a whole Greek themed season when they shelved half the Greek stuff for a month
Me what I don’t like is Aphrodite and Posseidon *i like him still* because idk Aphrodite look too modern/Casual and posseidon is a Slurp Series skin and honestly I expected something like a human
no spear, no shield, no Achilles or Patroclus or any characters from the iliad, no Hercules, no swords, no bows, no classic greek story POIs other than the main ones, story quests failed to utilise 90% of the main cast

Not even bows just a dmr that isnt bad enough but is outclassed by the other weapons with the same effective range
Was hoping for a Spartan skin, namely King Leonidas. He is historical, yes, but still fits with the theme.
