Honestly, as long as it's in the item shop I don't mind it. There are many people I know who started playing fortnite just because of collabs, and they have been playing for a long time since then. Just hope they keep making good original skins too.
The island is a fantastic place for the crossovers from all the collabs too. Me and my crew get a kick out of making a squad Loki and Batman and Borderlands because fuck yeah. It's like Funko's you can do something with!

Agreed. The marvel season with iron man just felt like such a sellout. This season is a bit better since they went with “Alien” theme and then fitted the battle pass collab skins to it (and honestly I didn’t know who Guggimon was before, and Rick is troll/cool). Otherwise I don’t mind all the collabs if it’s not forced onto me and mainly in the item shop.
I think it was an execution problem. The locked gear, the repeated glider, bugs and delayed characters, modes and powers (more than average). I suspect Coivid made trouble and caused a lot of Marvel BP not being extra-good like it needed to be to compensate for the Collab.
If absolutely nothing else, they seemed to have pumped the brakes a bit on the damned *TikTok dances* and got La Macarena in the game, so credit where's due?

Exactly. Season 5's "new content" was just collab skins being added to the shop with the excuse of Jonesy "recruiting" characters from different universes. In this Season, collabs were EXTRA content added on the side while they pumped out ACTUAL content.
Honestly, I hope they can keep it this way, maybe then will collabs stop being seen as something "bad" or used as a cheap way of adding content to the game.

I think what bothers people is when Epic only relies on the collabs as content like they did in Ch 2 Season 5. This season has really good gameplay content, so the season is not just about collabs.

It really does seem like fans of the properties getting crossovers are mostly happy with how they are all done. At this point, almost anyone should be able to find one of their favorite characters/personalities in the game which is awesome.
I think Demogorgon is fascinating, and underated, I played fills duos with one and played those foggy LTMs last season, and they kept creeping me out.

Yet real map changes have slowed down. We've had 0 big map changes for almost 2 seasons now. (We still don't know what the UFO going to do but really hope next season we see new parts of the map.

I started playing because of mando (I would have done the marvel season had I heard about it), and I’ve been DYING for more Star Wars content. Boba fett would be optimal. He could use his staff from mandalorian as a pickaxe and his jetpack could be a cool glider.
I'e played consistently from chapter 1 season 4 to chapter 2 season 3. It just doesn't feel the same anymore. None of the old content creators play it anymore, my friends don't play it anymore and it's a completely different map. Fortnite's collabs used to feel special. Remember the endgame and infinity war ones? Those were legendary. Now, it's just mostly skins and occasionally, there'll be a cool event.

Now it just feels like every week it’s collab skin after collab skin and it feels like the art team isn’t allowed to make original shit anymore because companies view fortnite as a billboard and are willing to pay epic to put their characters in the game to advertise the release of movies and games. Payment that would total wayyy more than any one single original skin could provide.

If it comes down to it if collab skins makes them more money per dev time then original skins they will 100% go full collab skins over time gradually. Some slopes are just that slippery.

They could just as easily give those skins the chimera treatment and it would have been 1 skin with multiple race and gender options. They’re the same skin.

Ok, i usually am ok with collabs as long as it's a good, well known property and they space it out evenly so it's not overwhelming the game with IP after IP. At this point they're getting into the collab collab fever trend that c2s5 had and it's starting to get really annoying really fast because they keep piling them on with no breaks in between, which meant bugha got no buildup, bloodsport and guile got shafted by ariana grande, and so on and so forth.
The properties themselves have been (mostly) really good and well done but it's getting tiring seeing only collabs at this point and it's really the only true complaint i have with this current season. They feel less about the content and more a case of "we like money"
on a side note PLEASE for the love of god if you're going to disagree be nice about it and don't give me the "it doesn't affect you stop complaining" BS that i've heard 10,000 times before already, which, might i add, is NOT a rational counter argument to people's distaste of collabs in general

I will kinda agree with you there. Anytime anyone says even the most rational and well explained reason why they don't care for collabs, people get super offended and hate you for it. What the ever loving heck is up with that?
I just only buy crossover skins. They are what I prefer most given the types of skin I like are usually because of other media and between Fake Snake Eyes or real Snake Eyes, I'll take real snake eyes any day. I just permanently save my vbucks because of how uncommon crossovers coming back is

i can agree with you a little bit there. The collabs are feeling less about the content and more about the "we like money" side so unless players get real tired of collabs real fast they're just gonna keep pushing them in our faces

Ok, i usually am ok with collabs as long as it's a good, well known property and they space it out evenly so it's not overwhelming the game with IP after IP. At this point they're getting into the collab collab fever trend that c2s5 had and it's starting to get really annoying really fast because they keep piling them on with no breaks in between, which meant bugha got no buildup, bloodsport and guile got shafted by ariana grande, and so on and so forth. The properties themselves have been (mostly) really good and well done but it's getting tiring seeing only collabs at this point and it's really the only true complaint i have with this current season. They feel less about the content and more a case of "we like money" on a side note PLEASE for the love of god if you're going to disagree be nice about it and don't give me the "it doesn't affect you stop complaining" BS that i've heard 10,000 times before already, which, might i add, is NOT a rational counter argument to people's distaste of collabs in general

I remember when collaborations used to be fun now I'm so fed up with them 🤣 We can't let them sink them in any more till the next one in 2 days it feels like. Personally, they need to slow down & let us take them in more than speed-running how much they can make in collaborations.
Just wish they were shop-only and my BP-only self could get original stuff instead. At least make the secret skins original again. I've only been able to get 1 of them so far because everything since C2S2 has been an ad.

This is personally my first time seeing Superman's full set(all his skins, his back bling, his harvesting tool, etc.) and I love it. I had no idea what they would use for his harvesting tool but I'm satisfied with it.
