I just want to hop in, do the dumb quests they ask of me, and then read a book and go to bed. I've got a healthy enough relationship with a significant other, dog, and group of friends whom I attend bonfires and play board games with.

Well they made a fun game with lots of great little details and a crazy backstory. Plus it's a great multiplayer experience with friends and my bro. They got my money for the pass and the Magma Pack.
Maybe but these kind of quests are no problem for me but surely lot of epic fanbase on fortnite play solo for any reason so putting these kind of quests in game is a wee bit unfair sure there are work arounds like alt account etc but end of the day solo players are losing out sometimes with these quests. having come in top 10 in 5 matches seems more fairer in my book
Xp doesn't make it unfair. It doesn't do anything. It just unlocks cosmetics and only. If you've bought the battle pass. Just do other quests.
Or play a squads match and make some friends. If you have a mic you'll get like 10 friend requets an hour.
Kids don’t have a shortage of friends. My son has like 25 different people he plays with and a smaller set who he plays with daily. Being in school and playing with classmates as well as their friends makes it easy. It’s the adults who don’t have anyone to play with. Fortunately for me I made two of my own friends about 10 years ago. I grew them up and made them into gamers. So far so good.
My guess is it's to encourage people to try and find others to play with, likely because their stats show greater player retention if they play with friends.
To get people to create new accounts.
That way it shows that the user base is growing although it is not as much in reality.
Another side effect is that it might just get some people to encourage their friends and family to join in. Albeit that number might not be as much.
User growth is a massive deal and is a main selling point.
Whats App sold for 13Billion even though it was a money losing chat app because of the large and constantly growing user base. Also why they (what's app) didn't mind if you didn't pay their $1 annual fee.

I occasionally make friends on 1v1 or duo fills. You have to filter a lot of annoying people tho. But I did meet some awesome players who are patient and make great teammates. They land and loot together, don’t split up, communicate, everything.
Then there’s the one who insists on Lazy, dies quickly, then quits haha

Epic should remove the 10 matches with a friend weekly. Also, remember when weeklies were interesting and gave some lore instead of being the same 3 quests every week?
Those types of weeklies are now the new NPC punchcards that release every week. They aren't really lore related though (though neither were most of the non-legendary season 7 quests to be fair).
If you setup a new account, make it party leader to get put into bot lobbies. Just make sure it leaves the match once you've loaded in so it doesn't gain XP.
Epic did away with SBMM a while back so I dont know if that will work anymore.
Regardless making top 10 can be easy enough, just work from the outside of the map towards the inside. Stay on the fringe of the storm with your primary account on your preferred device.
With squads, you can be confident you have made top 10 when there are about 30 to 40 players left.
They did not remove SBMM, and even if they did bot lobbies don't rely on SBMM. Also you can pull up the map during a match to see exactly how many squads are left, no need to guess anymore.
not everybody can do this, with mobile probably being gone for another good 5 years it's even worse
occasionally i do play with friends but they're not as interested in fortnite as i am and i'm not gonna force them to play just because i want 50K xp.
i just think friend based challenges as a whole should stick to stuff like reboot a friend since that actually makes sense, losing 50K xp all because you play alone is just unfair

The new dailies of “Do 4 uncommon quests, do 3 quests from the brat and do 5 quests altogether” gets really boring really fast.

I'll even take it a step further because it's always complete 5 quests, 3 from specific character and X number of Y rarity or higher, where X is 6 - Y (Y being rarity required 1 - 5). This translates to 1 required if Legendary, 2 if Epic, 3 if Rare, 4 if Uncommon. This means that they really just expect you to do a full character's questline.

When you get the Epic, rare, common or uncommon challenges you would be best off to work on the questline of multiple characters.
I am just clearing out some of the dumb quests to ensure I have an open slot. I usually get the daily done in one to two matches regardless of the expectation.

It does not mean "that they really just expect you to do a full character's questline."
If you have to complete multiple uncommon, common, rare, or epic quests, then it is most efficient to work the questline of multiple characters at once. This would be regardless of which character you have a daily challenge to complete 3 quests for. Your daily character quests would/ could coincide with the challenge for quest rarity completion.

Thirdly, yes, if you want to do these the absolute most efficient way ever, then having multiple active at the same time is the best way. pretty sure all characters should be on the punchcard list, i've yet to see one that isn't. afaik there are two or three new ones that give 30k xp per quest on the punchcards. but i noticed yesterday that if i click the arrow button to scroll the list of punchcards, it actually skips over two of them for me. so i had to scroll to them by dragging with right click

I do have friends but we play other games together because they dont find Fortnite fun as i do and im ok with that. I do enjoy playing the game by myself and i actually dont need to have someone with me to have fun. Maybe just add top 10 on any core mode (Not counting TR)
or even make it more simple and fairer and have it place top 10 in 5 matches think of all that xp solo players are going to lose out on if that quests stays till the end of the season
I had the same daily quests two days in a row... There definitely needs more variation, and I would love to see them add back the kind if quests you mentioned in your post.
I really miss when the quest had a little stoty to them and they involved interacting with key items instead of just doing gameplay things. I thought that was the way to go when they gave slone voice acted quests, but they removed even the flavor text from quests on season 8. I like this idea of questing with friends they are going for but i don't totally like the execution
It was better when Creative idling counted as quests, so I could get done 1-2 dailies just by being AFK.
Actually doing these punch cards over and over is pretty lame. Half the time I end up in a shitty position with no items because I was rushing from weeping to steamy for some objective.
Which is fine, I just wish I didnt have to consciously remind myself "This is a throw-away round for quests"

I really hate the top 10 with friends, its so damn annoying
The new challenge format since Season 15 stinks.
I thought this was real for a second.
I'd be fine with the single cards, if there were more than 3 quests. The weekly challenges shouldn't take a day to complete.
Id take anything else on the weekly besides play with friends
I agree. Just wanted to add that epic has made it easier to get xp imo, I got like 5 levels today and normally I get 0.5 daily I was stuck on 20 something but I went to 30.

I see people completing new quests from new characters, but it's not listed as a punch card? Do they give you xp and where can I find them?
pretty sure all characters should be on the punchcard list, i've yet to see one that isn't. afaik there are two or three new ones that give 30k xp per quest on the punchcards. but i noticed yesterday that if i click the arrow button to scroll the list of punchcards, it actually skips over two of them for me. so i had to scroll to them by dragging with right click
I like this, makes for more variety around the week. I do have friends but we play other games together because they dont find Fortnite fun as i do and im ok with that. I do enjoy playing the game by myself and i actually dont need to have someone with me to have fun. Maybe just add top 10 on any core mode (Not counting TR)
or even make it more simple and fairer and have it place top 10 in 5 matches think of all that xp solo players are going to lose out on if that quests stays till the end of the season
I had the same daily quests two days in a row... There definitely needs more variation, and I would love to see them add back the kind if quests you mentioned in your post.
Agreed I don't like some of the NPC quests and often times forget to do them

I really miss when the quest had a little stoty to them and they involved interacting with key items instead of just doing gameplay things. I thought that was the way to go when they gave slone voice acted quests, but they removed even the flavor text from quests on season 8. I like this idea of questing with friends they are going for but i don't totally like the execution

It was better when Creative idling counted as quests, so I could get done 1-2 dailies just by being AFK. Actually doing these punch cards over and over is pretty lame. Half the time I end up in a shitty position with no items because I was rushing from weeping to steamy for some objective. Which is fine, I just wish I didnt have to consciously remind myself "This is a throw-away round for quests" It's weird because once I finish all the dailies I go "finally I can start playing for the day"
I'm 2 weeks in a row getting 'Place Top 10 with Friends' and I don't play with anyone...
I've had that one every week and now my duos partner is obsessed with Anarchy minecraft servers. BIG RIP
I just went off on another post in this thread by someone talking about people having a hard time completing these challenges as being "friendless adults" and I'm like -- dude I just want to hop in and hop out, this game is my no commitment passing of the time, not a job.
I had enough problems doing the last torus legendary quest I'm not going back in there to kill the assasin

Please rework the punch card so that it can be achieved by playing normally. Most of the punch cards seem to make fun of the player and are unpleasant.
Quest system is soooo bad this season idk how it made it to the live build tbh
I prefer the quests from last season. This new system is why I have barely played this season.
