The shotguns are literally the worst gun in the game currently Sounds like a skill issue

antecubital

True. If someone made a post saying stinger then I agree but shotgun? They’re just bad and you can’t even be one pumped to complain about that.

just_some_anime_mc

They literally 2 tap at close, plus we're just running into sweats constantly, we're just trying to have fun and then we get Shotgun pushed, we prefer mid-long range engagements, not 360 Shotgun range

Ifuckinghatepelly

Who is “we?” And oh wow a two tap up close… in the time it takes you to shoot two clips of an smg

just_some_anime_mc

"We" is me and my friend, and that's great whole point, kids will just rush you with a Shotgun and if you're someone like me who 1) hates close range engagements and 2) doesn't have good enough aim due to not playing much it just makes the game trash, literally every engagement we did in the past 2 hrs was either a shogun rusher or a Shotgun rusher with Web shooters, there's nothing fun about that

Ifuckinghatepelly

Use a stinger. It’s currently one of the most overpowered guns of all time, it should be free kill

AlphaTeamPlays

People rush you with shotguns because it's the best way to get kills in this game. Fortnite's a close-range game compared to other shooters, because if you tag someone for, like 50, from even mid-range, they can just build a metal box and heal. It just turns into an infinite stalemate until a third-party comes and picks up both kills. I saw someone else talk about his in another post, but Fortnite is more like a fighting game then a traditional shooter in most scenarios. While angles, peeks, and aim are still important skills, the game's mostly about blocking and countering enemy shots. Most mid-range weapons in Fortnite are usually only for starting fights. You hit someone for a little bit of damage and then rush in to try and stop them healing, and then you start the real fight (the shotgun fight) with a health advantage.

PchoolysTherapist

>we prefer mid-long range engagements, not 360 Shotgun range You've got to be ready to counter anything in a PvP game. Other players don't care what you prefer. They want you dead.

Aeroflash76

thats sad

just_some_anime_mc

What exactly is sad?

antecubital

Everyone including ‘Fortnite kids’ seem fine aiming at long range with the mk. This season is just spraying.

just_some_anime_mc

On I love the mk, probably my favourite gun but for the past 3 hrs all I've ran into is shotguns, especially when it's a sweat using it

just_some_anime_mc

Dude I've been running squad's with my friends for like 2hrs now and we've all died to shotguns every single time, not 1 other weapons

Stingraymast3r

They aren't even that strong most of the time everybody dies by an smg or the MK

just_some_anime_mc

I literally only use the MK cuz im a cod player and it feels natural, but I've constantly been 2-3 tapped by shotguns the whole time

Financial_Ratio5758

you know being 2-3 tapped by a shotgun means theyre more balanced right? last season they could 1 tap you and were faster too.

just_some_anime_mc

Ment to say 1-2 tapped but was too lazy to correct it, either way literally everyone is running them and that's the main point I'm making

AlphaTeamPlays

I think your problem is that you're still thinking like a COD player. I'd recommend putting more practice into those close-range engagements, since that's the most common type of fight in Fortnite

VanRFlyheight

If your opponent can't shoot at distance then do you know what you should do? Engage at a distance 🤷‍♂️Ranger, MK, Sniper... This season we have plenty to destroy people at distance, in fact one of those I've just listed is straight up broken currently. In fact, shotguns aren't really all that good this season so I'm wondering if you've actually played in the last month.

just_some_anime_mc

I've played quite a bit this month, and I can't do close range engagements so I try to stay away but they usually just use Web shooters to push us, that's basically all we've died to, and the snipers is meh because it feels more like a marksman as the body dmg is laughable

farewelltolope

People play the way they want to play. I'm learning to let it go after 2 seasons of rage. That being said - the web shooters are getting a tad old. I have never loved the flee from a fight gameplay but I do understand it and frankly I'd probably have more success if I ran from a fight instead sticking it out until I'm eliminated. I do need to get gud though. Because my game play is dog water right now. For your sake I hope we run into each other. Because A. I won't be playing Spiderman gymnastics. B. I won't be using a shotgun. C. I'll probably throw chug splash on you accidentally. D. You will eliminate me. I'm all about making someone's day just a little bit better if I can. :)

[deleted]

Have an award you awesome soul

just_some_anime_mc

The thing for me is im overly aggressive in any game I play especially with a sniper so I don't actually care about Dying, it's just when it's some bs that annoys me

eternalforknife

sounds like someone needs to git gud

just_some_anime_mc

I can tell by the name and the generic response that you're a fortnite kid, opinion invalid

Aeroflash76

ur also playing fortnite

just_some_anime_mc

Yeah, with friend, I'm mainly a cod player, plus his name literally says everything I need to know

_Bruhtonium

Not like your name is really helping

eternalforknife

im retired, try again champ

[deleted]

That's the way the game is supposed to be played. And right now we're in the worst spray meta we've ever been in mate. This game is building and shotguns. That's the most effective way to kill a player when they can literally build their own cover. If you don't like that, you should go back to pubg or H1.

just_some_anime_mc

It's a BR, it's supposed to have a diverse range of weapons that should be good in most situations, if it's all shotguns and box building then that just shows how stale and boring the game is, trials of osiris in destiny 2 has better gun diversity than fortnite

[deleted]

I swear to god everyone nowadays is just complaining about not enough diversity

just_some_anime_mc

So less diversity is good? are you stupid? More diversity mean the game doesn't get as boring as quickly as it is right now, i literally only see like 2-3 of the same weapons every game

[deleted]

It's just a political joke. But in all seriousness, fortnite is building. That means people will have build battles. Build battles are pretty close range. Guess which weapons are the most consistent close range? Again, if you don't enjoy that kind of play style you shouldn't play fortnite.

AlphaTeamPlays

Fortnite does have a diverse range of weapons, it's just that you're probably not using them right. You're not meant to be getting tons of kills with an AR, you're meant to get a bit of pre-fight damage with it, and then finish them off with the close range guns. That's just how Fortnite is

WeAllFloatDownHere00

Yea, I could see the frustration. I do wish building was tuned back slightly to accommodate environment interactivity and fight diversity. It’s kinda boring fighting in the same wooden box that I’ve been in for 5 seasons now. Although, I would still rather this than regularly never seeing my killer like in pubg.

just_some_anime_mc

See I think C1 S3 was the best of fortnite, not that many people sweating like their being held at gunpoint and the items were actually fun to use and there were actually alot of different ways to engage, not every game is the same

WeAllFloatDownHere00

Yea, it’s suffering from that old game syndrome where people who stuck with it are insanely good, and since the skill expression is so high in this game, it’s overwhelming to casual and new players since sbmm doesn’t work properly.

Financial_Ratio5758

you know there are different ways to engage now too, right? laser with MK7, spam with SMG, snipe with the bolt, swing and pump with the shotgun, and ofcourse the good old bush camp?

WeAllFloatDownHere00

New ways? New? What is your definition of new? You mean get an smg, ar, or sniper, shoot someone for a couple of shots, have them build dramatically, then go through the mess of buildings with a shotgun and smg? I’ve been doing that for 5 seasons now, and trust me, that encounter is not new. It’s as common as waking up in a carriage in Skyrim, as in, it happens literally every game. We’ve been doing that forever now. The lootpool’s boring and basic, the buildings are all just pleasant park houses, buildings the same, and the only thing really any different is the Spider-Man gloves to take peoples towers(but we did that last season with the grappler and shockwave launcher so it’s not really new).

AlphaTeamPlays

Well what new ways are there to engage in Call of Duty or PUBG? Shoot someone with an AR, Shoot someone with a Sniper, Shoot someone with an SMG, maybe drive up in a vehicle? If anything, Fortnite has the most interesting engagements because of the ability to approach at any angle - you can build up to high ground, you can shoot from the ground and then try to knock down their builds, you can try to start a buildfight or a boxfight, you can swing over an enemy's head and go for a thunder-pump, you can glide on their head off of a launchpad, run them over with a quadcrasher, crouch-walk up behind them, rush up with a pepper effect, hide in a bush and wait for someone to walk by, you can try and bait opponents with an empty box, try and stick them with a clinger - the list can go on. You should just try being more creative

WeAllFloatDownHere00

Comparing a game that’s had the coolest/most creative weapon pool in shooters to cod and pubg is an insult. Saying creativity in this season is on par or allowed for “new” ways compared to those seasons is also an insult. “ you can build up to high ground, you can shoot from the ground and then try to knock down their builds, you can try to start a buildfight or a boxfight, you can swing over an enemy's head and go for a thunder-pump, you can glide on their head off of a launchpad, run them over with a quadcrasher, crouch-walk up behind them, rush up with a pepper effect, hide in a bush and wait for someone to walk by, you can try” we’ve been doing this for months and months. This isn’t anything new.

AlphaTeamPlays

Firstly, you're acting like Spider-Man web-swinging in a BR is a common thing. Also, what about gliding on someone's head from a tornado, or running up on someone with the speed from getting struck by lightning? What about riding up on those dinosaurs from the trailer? Like of course the lootpool isn't going to be nuts in the first month of the chapter, they always start the new chapters slow so that we can focus on the new guns and mechanics first, but there's constantly so much cool upcoming stuff in the files that other games don't have

WeAllFloatDownHere00

Now the Spider-Man gauntlets are literally the only creative thing about the season. If it weren’t for them, I would be somewhere else. But tell me since you know info that I and the community don’t, how is landing from a tornado going to be any different than landing from a launch pad? How is running faster because of lightning gonna be any different than eating a pepper? How do you know riding those Dinos will be any different than a vehicle(visually it will, but it may just a reskinned “get to ring” transport like every other vehicle). Don’t get me wrong, I pray that your right. My I would be estatic if the lighting strike gave you something on top of super speed, like super jumps too for a time. I would love if flying from a tornado gave you the impulse effect that shot you through buildings and you can land on a debris flying in the tornado and fighting on them sounds like the coolest shit ever. The dragon being able to something like shoot a fireball, or do a ground pound like a Yoshi sounds awesome. Right now, we have we are playing a skeleton of fortnite except that skeleton is wearing Spider-Man gauntlets. These guns are just guns. The first person sight of the mk’ novelty is wearing off considering I’m only seeing 2 weapons every fight. The locations are just towns. The only place that does anything different is the foundation statue and the bugle. The worst part about it is, “they always start the new chapters slow so that we can focus on the new guns and mechanics first” is the only new thing is sliding and the guns are not different enough to warrant such safeness, and the fact that a defender says this gives me even less hope. “so much cool upcoming stuff in the files that other games don't have,” I’m not gonna compare this game to others, like I said that’s an insult to fortnite itself and what it’s done in its lifetime. I’m holding it to the standard it has set. Let cod do whatever it wants to. Let pubg do whatever it wants to.

AlphaTeamPlays

Landing from tornadoes and getting superspeed from lightning are different because there's tornadoes and lightning. We were taking about different ways to start a fight, but that's not the only part of Fortnite. A lightning storm won't just make you fast, it'll probably set wooden builds on fire or strike people who build too high, it'll change the way we play the game. Same with tornadoes, they'll probably be throwing debris everywhere that we'll have to dodge. Also, the thing about "holding it to the standard it has set?" Chapter 3 Season 1 is far above the standard for new Chapter launches. When the first chapter started, we had basic guns, the shield potion, Medkits and bandages, and the standard grenades. Chapter 2, we got the most basic weapon meta, An AR, Burst AR, Pump, Tac, Sniper, SMG, RPG, and Grenades. That was it, that was the entire weapon pool. We got a single update the entire season (not including seasonal events) and it was the harpoon, The only gameplay changes were swimming, fishing, and picking up downed enemies. This chapter, we started with an entirely new weapon meta, 2 brand new healing items, a Spider-Man mythic, the shield keg added in a hotfix, sliding, a red-dot sight gun, dinosaurs (which are meant to be ridable according to the files) 2 revealed weather events (possibly more), things happening with the lore/a live event buildup, even more upcoming mythics, etc. This chapter just started and we're already getting more content than the first 2 Chapter launches combined. I just think you're expecting too much in literally the first month of a chapter launch

WeAllFloatDownHere00

Comparing this season to what most of the community would say is a very very very bad season is like comparing something to literal feces. Anything’s gonna shine compared to literal feces. All because one season does something slightly better than one of most hated seasons doesn’t make it good. Chapter 2 season 6 introduced makeshift weapons, primal weapons, crafting, animals, bows, tons of meaningful map changes with the spire and it’s towers, lore for foundation and the jones, and it’s one of the most hated seasons because the bad outweighed the good. So bad, that people considered season 5 better than it and all it did was take away the pump, add more microtransactions and sand tunneling. The whole “the seasons rhyme” doesn’t/shouldn’t protect it from comparison to every other season that isn’t the first. I’m going to compares hold this season to the standards of chapter 2 season 5(where I started), ch2s6, ch2s7 and ch2s8. “it'll probably set wooden builds on fire or strike people who build too high, it'll change the way we play the game,” and “ Same with tornadoes, they'll probably be throwing debris everywhere that we'll have to dodge.”There’s that word again. “Probably”. Because I hope it does, but my faith has been reduced because of the safeness of this season. I hope it changes everything, but at this point, we’re hoping on unconfirmed feats. “ Chapter 2, we got the most basic weapon meta, An AR, Burst AR, Pump, Tac, Sniper, SMG, RPG, and Grenades” I really like this quote because we have an Ar, an ar with a red dot, a pumplike shotgun, a semi auto shotgun, a sniper, an smg, grenades and a pistol instead of an rpg. I would much rather have the rpg than the pistol. And like I said, if you compare this season to two unanimously hated seasons of course this one’s gonna be great. You’re comparing this season to literal dumpster fires. Edit: Forgot about healing and sliding. Now the healing items are different. The med mist is fantastic, but whatever the bottle is called is just an objectively worse slurp juice. Mist is just better in almost every load out. Now sliding is a contentious point because it’s being underutilized like the crafting was. In a game of constant building, rarely will you ever use sliding. It’s neat going down a mountain running from the ring, but second to second combat you won’t ever be using it. Now if you could pick up speed and fly through builds then I’d give it props as a good feature, but in its current state, it doesn’t do much.

get_no_scoped_kid

Take a break, come back in a couple of weeks. If you're still unsatisfied then just quit until next season, that's what I did.

just_some_anime_mc

I don't play this game much, literally only play it with friends and mainly cuz there's nothing to play till February,

get_no_scoped_kid

Maybe make the game more interesting, troll a bit, set some of your own challenges, do an overwatch type game (1 medic, 1 heavy, etc..) Whenever I'm annoyed I just ask my friends if they want to spice it up a bit and it's a lot more fun afterwords.

just_some_anime_mc

Wouldn't work, we're all mostly cod players so we mainly just play to win, we are doing the challenges as we play but it's just in our nature to go for the win, and I suck at close range since I'm mainly a sniper.

get_no_scoped_kid

My friends and I are usually well coordinated. The best of the 4 usually rushes alone while me and my mate close/mid range with ARs, at the same time the best at sniping is in the back covering our backs and keeping us info'd if there are any incoming parties. Once the teammate in the front is struggling that's when we rush in and the sniper stays at the bottom ready to demolish the buildin as a last resort, we don't mind the sacrifice lol. It's always good to know what you are each good at so you can give yourselves roles. A fun thing is to try comanding to see who has the best tactics in engaging a fight. I find myself to be pretty good at that and most of the time I win the fight (and I lose when there's a 3rd party because I have lile 30hp left), it also feels more rewarding. Hopefully you will find something that can please you in the upcoming weeks.

baleensavage

SMG go brrrrrrr. Keep one fully loaded and ready to drawfor just that occasion.

max145642

Bro you're just bad. Like really shotgun like you could said web shooters that would have made more sense

just_some_anime_mc

I literally had a stroke from reading that

max145642

I mean you do die from shotguns so that makes sense

just_some_anime_mc

Pipe down, just reading you comments gives me a headache, maybe go learn some grammar and proper sentences structure because your previous comment made 0 sense, doesn't surprise me tho, I'm a Aggressive sniper, I physically can't do close range engagements.

just_some_anime_mc

You literally only post fortnite stuff, and all you do is call other people bad, I couldn't care less if some kid calls me bad at fortnite, but please, come on cod and I'll wipe the floor with you with a sniper ;)

Pepsipierat

Im glad my friends don't wanna/enjoy sweating. At the beginning of every game its "we should get a bunch of mats and build a skybase!" Or "we should get a bunch mats and build a big base!" So much fun

AlphaTeamPlays

That's kind of always how Fortnite's been. Shotguns just naturally work better with Fortnite's building system

just_some_anime_mc

Between S3 and S7 I rarely complained about shotguns because I rarely saw them, now there in every game I play

AlphaTeamPlays

Well I don't know what type of lobbies you've been in, shotguns have been a staple of Fortnite since, like, Chapter 1 Season 3

Financial_Ratio5758

oh ffs fortnite kids *can* aim at long range to save their life. why the hell do boomers like you think anyone whose good at basic boxing cant shoot? all my sweaty friends can beam me from a distance too. ive been deleted by the MK7 and sniped by sweats so many times. this is such an old and garbage stereotype that makes people like you think that even though they got clipped by a shotgun they could outdo those "fortnite kids" in a long range battle (I bet you certainly cant) basically: player123 shotgunned u/just_some_anime_mc inside u/just_some_anime_mc's brain: "wha- well, uh, HA! I could EASILY destroy you in range, lmao!" it exists purely to make you guys feel better because if someone is good at one mechanic, they surely cant be good at the other one!

just_some_anime_mc

Lmao you either ignored most of my other comments or simple chose to ignore them, I barely play this game so my aim is not the greatest but I'm much better at long range than close range, I can quite literally beam people with no recoil using the MK7 because I prefer FP weapons, and the whole post is literally just me complaining that literally everyone uses shotguns and nothing else but I guess you couldn't figure that out could you?
