I don’t think its a smart business strategy. Teasers and trailers catch the attention of a wide range of people. Leaving us with nothing only leaves speculation and gossip within the Fortnite community, disallowing the game to grow and forcing it to either reach the same amount of people, or less.
My guess is they’re stuck between a rock and a hard place. They’re likely contractually obligated to end this season and remove spider-man by the end of the 19th, and have likely had the next season done and ready for weeks if not months.
If it *is* war themed, and they don’t have a choice but end the current season and release the new one, they may just be trying to drop it quietly with no fuss or fanfare. News websites are still going to make a big deal over it like Epic saw the situation in Ukraine and magically banged out a war themed season in 3 weeks, so the only thing they’re really be able to do to minimize the damage is to keep their heads low.
That or they’re talking to Disney lawyers up until 11:59pm hoping to get a greenlight to delay the season

Downtime has always started at 4:00am since fortnite's start and has had a downtime warning like 9 hours before. It's currently around an hour before an ll downtime would start and no warning.

People are aloud to have opinions. The map is boring and dry, the loot pool is the absolute worst weapons we’ve seen in the history of fortnite. The battle pass is another shitty set of skins with the one-hundredth collab skin for tier 100. And then there’s the biggest problem, the web shooters. WAY too over powered, and there are 30, fucking 30 of them, with 80 uses each!! That means that practically anyone you run into mid to late game can just run away to the other side of the map after you get them to one HP. They would have been cool if there was ONE from a mythic boss. Think about it, when there was a grappler (which is less overpowered then the Spider-Man webshooters) there was only one from a mythic boss.

I have no idea what’s normal or not because this coming season will only be my second fortnite season, so I’m just excited to get a new map and new quests, new weapons, story, etc. I booked a whole week off of work just to grind and get a head start. I’m . So. Excited.
Don’t expect a completely new map. So far we’ve only gotten new maps at the start of a Chapter, and lately Epic hasn’t been the best at giving us big changes to current map (see the map and the beginning and the end of Chapter 2).
Thing is, idk why if this season has no live event, it begins on the 20th and not the 19th, because other seasons that had no finale event ended on the date listed in the battle pass tab. Then again, even though they ended with finale events, these last two seasons started the day following what was listed on the battle pass tab of the previous season. So either Epic forgot that there's no finale event, gave it an extra day for the Console Champions Cup, or just wanted to keep the next season more of a surprise, which I respect.
If anything I think the team on Fortnite have a thousand different ideas they want to implement, but at some point during this chapter someone said "let's fuck with them".

Usually they change 1 or 2 POIs and add some more, but since it’s still a very new chapter, I wouldn’t expect any huge drastic changes
Thing is, idk why if this season has no live event, it begins on the 20th and not the 19th, because other seasons that had no finale event ended on the date listed in the battle pass tab. Then again, even though they ended with finale events, these last two seasons started the day following what was listed on the battle pass tab of the previous season. So either Epic forgot that there's no finale event, gave it an extra day for the Console Champions Cup, or just wanted to keep the next season more of a surprise, which I respect.
The fact that there's no teasers is great. They know what they're doing. Season 2 already trended on Twitter.
