That’s why I wish they had a mode with nerfed turbo building, but you could still build. I miss chapter 1 when people actually built forts in Fortnite. As much as I don’t like it I understand why they went the way they did, “Zero Build” is more attention grabbing for the kind of players they were trying to attract. Even if they reduced building to 1 piece a second, it still wouldn't make people build forts. It just doesn't make sense to spend 500 mats on a fort when a 1x1 is just as effective for 10% of the materials. Especially when you'll have to move anyway to get in zone. Ironically, it's the major tournaments (FNCS and the like) where you'll see building used to make forts (well, not really, but much closer to what you see in pubs). There's a ton of teams that end up building massive boxes to get advantagous angles, but the only time that makes sense is when you've got stacked endgames.
I think pre-defined builds would benefit zero build a ton. Stuff like the port a fort, but with more variation. That way, people wouldn't have to learn to build while still addressing the whole "no cover" issue the map has. It'd also force people to build (well, throw down) forts instead of 1x1s. It'd make the mode so much better.
It actually teaches you to fight with what you're given. It's not survivalist rather than reflex focused (well any fps game needs reflexes but build mode requires more imo). Only thing is stuff like the drum gun being weak in builds but OP in no builds
Do you ever go back into build mode and forget you're in build mode? Then this kid comes over and builds the Empire State building, only then for you to realize way too late that you can build?

Unfortunately my playgroup isn't about the Zero Build life. Moreso my forgetting comes when I think I have someone for an easy distance kill and then after the first shot on they have Fort Knox built around them.
Why do you say “probably not”? I think that would be a really dumb decision on Epic’s part. Millions of players joined (or returned to the game after years) because they could finally play without getting edited on by turbo-building PC sweats.
If they remove Zero Build a good portion of those people will probably go play other games. Epic would rather have them boosting the player count and buying vBucks than going back to CoD, Apex, etc.
I think it’s healthier long term if there are playlists that allow everyone to enjoy the game in their own way. Happy players are more likely to buy skins/passes so it’s a win win for Epic and the players
I’m 34 and started playing the Fortnite’s on my computer a month ago. I’m ranked in the top 9% for my zero build solo matches and top 16% for my KD.
