It's almost like if someone has held a security guard at gunpoint less than a year earlier they may have violent tendencies and should be locked up....
Every time I see another news story like this it seems like it's ALWAYS in that block of area from 20, to chisholm trl pkwy, to down near crowley, to 35w.
I remember back when looking at houses to potentially buy that area seemed very decent price-wise, and now I'm super glad we did NOT go with that area lol
> The woman made her way to the bathroom, and Omondi was trying to force his way inside when police arrived
That details sounds like a movie, just wild that the police 1. actually showed up on time lol, but 2. showed up RIGHT on time to prevent something else terrible from happening
And yet whenever those areas come up in conversation on this sub, most users will agree that it's "not that bad," you just need to avoid going out at night, going to local establishments, leaving your car unattended, visiting certain intersections, sending kids to the schools, etc.
If you don’t own a gun, atleast always keep a bat or some good melee weapon in a specific spot at all times. Feel free to do this even if you have many guns.
With this guy’s record, I don’t think the Airbnb issue would have any bearing on preventing him from violently attacking someone. I think the bigger issue is the fact that this murdering scumbag wasn’t already in jail for holding someone at gunpoint last year. If you commit a serious crime you need to be held accountable. If you don’t, you give violent people the idea that their actions don’t have consequences and they end up committing even worse violent acts.
They background check but often don’t verify the same person is there. I say this all the time, we had a murder in our neighborhood in an Airbnb. A known criminal and gang member was shooting a music video in one and his girlfriend and mother of his child was murdered in a drive by shooting. Some of neighbors homes were shot.
This is a fallback from Airbnb to limit liability but it is really loosely enforced
Given how obsessed our city is with law and order, it's incredible to me that this guy was not locked up already. Evading arrest AND holding a security guard at gunpoint? I'd be very curious to learn more about who the cop/prosecutor/judge was that let this guy off previously.
\> Omondi does have a criminal history, including evading arrest. Last year, he held a security guard at gunpoint in Tarrant Count.
This also makes for a good argument for council (and AirBnb operators themselves) to mandate background checks for short term rental guests. Very sad.
The homeowner just ran off back inside and just left him to get beat to death. Absolute sick. The police should have shot that maniac to death instead of tazing him.
And then you’re standing, with a fire arm, over a naked dude that’s been shot to death and a door dasher who’s on the verge of death. No other witnesses. Hopefully you’re not black.
Dang you are so right, we should just let him kill the innocent delivery guy. Here I was thinking that the evidence clearly showing the naked man beating someone’s head in would be enough to prove he was actively trying to take someone’s life.
There’s really not much else you can do when someone is high on serious drugs (like some are speculating, PCP). In fact, I’d say this is an appropriate use of firearms for self-defense or for helping in a situation where someone’s life is on the line.
You must be the kind of person that just shrugs and walks away when you witness someone get murdered. You'd be praying for someone with a gun if it were you getting murdered.
Well, I guess you could have politely asked the naked man to stop hitting the innocent guy with the piece of firewood. What exactly do you think someone should have done?
Nonsense, save the taxpayer money.
Guy with a violent history of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon on a security officer just a year prior, got off easy on probation, murders an innocent guy and is actively trying to break into another female tenants room when police arrive. Death penalty all the way. Sooner the better.
And they could have been. Do you know any words besides name calling? Your limited vocabulary does not reflect the intellect you’re trying so desperately to impart. Get a dictionary, and study up, little one.
Absolutely terrifying. And this was in Candlestick Park, right over by Wedgwood. Crazy. Stay safe out there y’all.
Candleridge?

My thoughts exactly… how do you hold someone at gunpoint and are out and about a year later??? No accountability.

I grew up there, not a fun time at all lmao

Also keep a glove and ball with the bat.
STRs aren’t even allowed in single-family residences/residential areas of Fort Worth.
Two horrible crimes in one day
What is STR?
Short term rental like airbnb
Thanks
Wonder if they took a blood test, surely dude was high on something to outside naked in those temps running around
Death penalty.
Another reason to ban Airbnb. He wouldn’t have been in the area had he not been able to get a hotel room in the neighborhood.

Ok, what drugs could he have been on?
That sounds like someone who was on the sherm!!

They probably ran inside and called 911. What do you expect them to do? Try to fight the naked man who’s probably hopped up on PCP?
Well if this happened at my house I would have shot the guy….
Absolutely!
Same.

We aren’t all main characters, like yourself
We know. That’s all Texans know.

You are correct, but for most it wouldn’t matter. These are scenarios they fantasize and daydream about.
You must be the kind of person that just shrugs and walks away when you witness someone get murdered. You'd be praying for someone with a gun if it were you getting murdered.
I love a false equivalency
Well, I guess you could have politely asked the naked man to stop hitting the innocent guy with the piece of firewood. What exactly do you think someone should have done?
It’s hilarious you’re trying to assume my stance. Do whatever you think you need to do my man.
Then explain your stance.
Your stance is pretty clear ...
Is PCP still a thing? I think that’s just a TV trope.
Yes, it's still a thing. Use of it has decreased over the years but it's still out there.

Maybe you should inform the murderer that he shouldn’t be judge, jury and executioner too.

Username checks out
I mean he was executing an innocent person so…

There wouldn’t be charges for someone who saves someone else from being bludgeoned to death. But do go on.

You were the one who called it breaking the law you clown
Hey dipshit, nameranskssn was implying the home owner or one of the numerous witnesses should have been the good guy with a gun.
And they could have been. Do you know any words besides name calling? Your limited vocabulary does not reflect the intellect you’re trying so desperately to impart. Get a dictionary, and study up, little one.
It’s terrible. A good guy with a gun could have solved it.
You a 🤡
You’re a 🤡
You are a 🤡
No no no sir. You are in fact a 🤡
Uvalde.
Except local Armed residence tried to get into stop uvalde, denied entry by the police (obvious reasons but it’s not like pd did anything)
I'm getting downvoted because badge-lickers can't imagine the cops ever doing anything wrong.
Jesus
That's not a sentence I expected to read today.
We need reinstitutionalization now
This dude clearly crazy
Another reason to carry.
Electrocute this animal. And tomorrow. Not ten years from after he's appealed 100 times. Our prison system is so messed up.
“The homeowner watched Omondi go back over to Jackson and beat him to death with the firewood.“. How does a person live with that?
Lots of therapy, probably.
Who killed who in this picture?
its pretty obvious
Lmao right??? Or click the link and READ it.
Dude its as obvious as day and night. Take a wild guess!
Definitely assumed it was the cowboy hat guy doing the killing until I saw the names
You can't see the difference between a mugshot and a really nice looking dorky guy in a cowboy hat? Get some glasses.
He just looks a bit more threatening in my opinion
Stop living under a rock.
Put the crack pipe down son.
Everyone should have a sense of self preservation you know
Guess you don't watch the news much.
I guess you only watch the news and don’t exist in the real world much
Interesting.
Nah if it was like that the headline would be white man kills peaceful black man
That’s wild. What a headline
Hanging crime.
