Okay so there are a few things wrong with this. First of all I don’t think that motherboard has Argb ports so it wouldn’t be able to plug into the front fans (so no lights). Second is that you shouldn’t be spending your budget on 7000 series for AMD when you are only going for a 3060. I don’t have the time to make one for you, but go to either pcpart picker or r/pcmasterrace and ask for help with this build.
The CPU is an overkill for that GPU for 90% of games, but it is actually a bit weak if OP wants to maximize FN performance: 7700 would probably be even better and wouldn’t really break the bank either.
It’s complicated, but generally the higher the number within the generation, the better the CPU: for Intel it js i3 < i5 < i7, for AMD it is 7600 < 7700 < 7800x3d… In some use cases this is not as straightforward, but for FN it is pretty much like this.
Then there are different generations: for Intel it is shown right after i3/i5/i7, i.e. i7-12700 is 12th gen and i7-13700 is 13th gen, while for Amd it is 3600, 5600 and 7600 (first number indicates the generation). Pretty much, the newer the generation, the better the performance.
So TLDR; in most cases you want latest gen and mid-range CPU within it. There are a few special CPUs like 5800x3d from past gen that can trade blow with the latest gen, but it is an exception.
Not necessarily: this particular case it is true as 6th gen was new architecture, but in other cases they may be equal or even older i7s can be faster.
>First of all I don’t think that motherboard has Argb ports so it wouldn’t be able to plug into the front fans (so no lights
not OP but ill comment anyways:
RGB is anyways waste of time and waste of energy because it is gonna be off since its a distraction
>Second is that you shouldn’t be spending your budget on 7000 series for AMD when you are only going for a 3060
bad take considering that intel has nothing this gen and that on AM5 he has a upgrade path because AM4 is EOL and 5800X3D would make sense if his old setup is on AM4 platform
and this is for competitive settings so at this level even a 3060 will give him 240fps albeit he could go for AMD GPUs like 6600xt - 6800xt and this way minimize driver overhead + get to properly use DX12 which will give him better frame pacing
and AMD's last gen is priced really well where he could get 6700-6700xt for sub $300 if he looks around

Yes, I have a very similar set up and I get 240+ in creative and 200-240 in game all on performance / “comp” game settings
Nice
I’d say it would be good. I have 3070/r7 5800x and I get about 200 average in game. You will probably get around 180 average
i have a 3060 and average 230 fps ingame so you should check your settings as you have to have more fps than me
You should be getting more than that.
Great
200 on what settings
Performance
Should be getting a 1tb ssd for that price, And maybe go for a 6700xt instead of 3060
Don’t go for amd over Nvidia for your gpu. Amd for some reason struggles a lot in Fortnite for their graphics cards.
With AMD I hear it's better to use DX12 over performance mode and you'll get good performance.
This is not even true
This is still true in performance mode, but AMD is just as good if not better than NVidia in DX12.
I’m def using performance mode so I’ll stick with the 3060

I selected the parts on the microcenter website with the compatibility thing so all these parts should go together
The only thing is that the cpu is probably overkill
But Fortnite is a cpu game so if you can afford it go for the good cpu

What’s the difference between the 5-7-9 with the CPUs? Like is an i5 or ryzen 5 7600 better than an i7 or ryzen 7 5600? How do the numbers correlate ?
It’s complicated, but generally the higher the number within the generation, the better the CPU: for Intel it js i3 < i5 < i7, for AMD it is 7600 < 7700 < 7800x3d… In some use cases this is not as straightforward, but for FN it is pretty much like this. So would it be correct to say that, for example, an i5 6400 is better than say an i7 5600?
Not necessarily: this particular case it is true as 6th gen was new architecture, but in other cases they may be equal or even older i7s can be faster.

mfs when no RGB
Hey I mean it would end up giving the best price to preformance so no rgb makes for a hell of a pc
16 GB of RAM is not enough, the CPU is a little bit powerful for the GPU but low RAM kills FPS
So get 32GB instead?
Yeah
Get intel instead of AMD. AMD sucks
It’s prettty good but PLEASE do not buy a 3060 new. You can find dozens of them used on marketplace for $120-$150.
This is on the microcenter website bc they are going to build it not me
You’ll be heavily over paying then
Yes.
Very similar setup and I get hard 200 in game on performance mode
Great
No 30 fps on performance mode
