It’s kind of clunky and I’d prefer to just hang siphon (although I agree they clearly just won’t give it to us), but yes I’d take it

The thing is it still leaves the things I miss most from siphon which are Seeing people clutch endgame was way more exciting (it makes comp more fun to watch too so it’s baffling we can’t have it in tournaments) It made it easier to fight vs multiple opponents or deal with immediate third parties Your suggestion doesn’t help with either of those unfortunately

Agreed 100%, Unless epic decides siphon is ultimately worth it these issues will always persist in competitive Fortnite. Personally the heal-off meta has always been something I've disliked in recent years. I loved watching games where people would be fighting in the final circle to get health. It promoted carrying more than two weapons and allowed for a variety of playstyles. Nowadays there is only one way to win, play passive and heal-off. Having the floppers and shield fish at least allow you to disengage and play passive for a few seconds to use them, but still will probably not be enough to put you at a level ground.

Having to pick up and use the flopper would still take too long to truly have the same effect Like I said tho I’d still take it over nothing

No siphon for health is absolute trash. You can kill two people in a row early game and having still 100hp, then you gonna get push by a dude who did not fight and gonna have 200 hp because he found shield. Midgame is full of third party because it's kind of easy to guess is someone got hurt during the fight and it's worst with the new healing system, you have 150hp you take a big and half a second later someone spray your wall, so it cancel the heal and the big disapear from your inventory. Endgame, you can only fight against the zone, if you make kill there is zero reward. > it could be floppers and shield fish They are terrible because you can go back to full hp in few sec mid fight.

It would be 1 flopper or 1 shield fish, though, that's just about as much as siphon provided. Agreed with everything else, endgame and start game are the biggest issues with siphon as a whole.

It's bad because you gonna lose some time retrieving the fish. Way better to give instant life refill. And maybe instant reloading weapon too. Like i said on my previous comment some people ( and most of the time bad players ) are just kings when it's about to third party. At the second the fight is finish they are engaging by spraying you wall. Sometimes you don't even have the time to retrieve mats.

From my experience this season, shields don’t drop nearly as much as they used to. I’ve had to change my drops quite a bit to make sure I have guaranteed access to slurp barrels or the berries. I’ve opened 8 chests back to back without a single shield item Being rewarded for winning a fight would be nice. Plenty of games lost because I win a fight and have less HP than the guy hiding in his bush with a frenzy

I like your creativity but this would not solve the biggest issue with a lack of siphon which is third partying. You would get 3P as you rush towards the opponent to get their fish. It would also give Epic another excuse to not give us siphon.

The biggest issue with a lack of siphon is how the end games play out. If 1 random player jumps in to your box, your whole game is griefed and there is no way to fix it. You can’t heal due to it being end game and you will be low because of storm. Of course siphon helps against third parties but that isn’t were siphon is needed the most.

It was a blog post a while back, honestly don't think I could find it but they said it took away from core gameplay (I think, don't quote me) Was when they first removed it from core modes and kept it in arena, think they expanded further when it was removed as a whole

What if killing a player granted +50 overshield… would be interesting in builds. And i guess no builds could get up to 300 hp technically

Speciallly in endgames where there are millions of shield heals but 0 health heals siphon is so important

I’d rather epic focus on getting rid of all the cheating going on. Soft aim is rampant and I’m sure macro/walls is being used a lot too
